Ladies: So Ra No Wo To is a must-watch. Anything from "Manga Time Kirara" (Kiniro Mosaic, Is The Order A Rabbit, Koufuku Graffiti and Hanayamata). Haibane Renmei. Locodol oh my cat, just Locodol.
Gentlemen: Tsuritama is the greatest sports anime ever. Sakamichi No Apollon. Free! (of course). High School Star Musical from last season.
I'll post more if I think of them.
Loves feel-good animation a whole lot.Does Love Live count? I mean the girls are all basically canonically lesbians but there's not really a lot of tension because we'll it's...... Well all the pairings are pretty much canon so it's not a question of "will they are won't they" cause they already did.
Huh isnt that the logic used to justify Fate & Nanoha's relationship in the Lyrical Nanoha series?
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Rinnne no Lagrange has a lot of Les Yay in a three-way setup that's so obvious their drama club ships them. The second half really looks like a best friends with benefits thing.
"No will to break."Madoka. At least until Rebellion. For Les Yay

"But if that happened, Melia might actually be happy. We can't have that." - Handsome RobRebellion was incredibly gay, though?
Homura is most definitely gay for Madoka. The latter I cannot say without some measure of question though.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Madoka loves everyone.
Everyone in this series just happens to be girls.
And thus.
Loves feel-good animation a whole lot.I meant it's ambiguous until Rebellion pretty much makes it text. Since the OP asked about story's not tagged as Yaoi or Yuri.

"But if that happened, Melia might actually be happy. We can't have that." - Handsome RobIt's hard to know what counts. Like in No. 6 it's text but the main genre is dystopian Sci-fi so that's what it's tagged as.
edit: Ooh, I forgot Koukaku No Pandora currently running!

Loves feel-good animation a whole lot. When it comes to yuri, there's a reason why Senki Zesshō Symphogear is often called Symphogay (or Sapphogear, or Symphoqueer, or... you get the idea). And there's also Yuki Yuna is a Hero, which while a bit more subtle than Symphogear actually has the Ambiguously Lesbian best friend be canonically in (romantic) love with the MC girl.
There's some yuri tension in Wixoss, but Wixoss is kinda dumb. Avoid Sound! Euphonium like the plague unless you enjoy bitter disappointment.

Sex-negative outrage culture and the Illuminati are realPretty Cure, especially in both the original continuity and the Doki Doki Precure series, but all if them have subtle homoerotic humor that goes over kids heads.
Tokyo Ghoul has rather disturbing Masochism along with Homoeroticism too.

Watch SymphogearAlso there's Nanoha, which I'm pretty sure is almost solely responsible for all the Les Yay in modern Magical Girl series.

Sex-negative outrage culture and the Illuminati are realhardly, that's been a thing since Sailor Moon and before. MG's always been kind of sexually ambiguous.
"No will to break."Pretty cure helped make the High Octane action quotient possible for Nanoha to achieve success with.
Usagi actually legitimately loves her fellow Sailor Senshi as much as she loves Mamoru....
Watch SymphogearHuh ok anything in general where the homo-eroticism is not subtext but actually acted on?
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Well, there's... uh... Rebellion?
I want to die

Sex-negative outrage culture and the Illuminati are realTokyo Ghoul does, in its own twisted way.
Watch SymphogearAll this talk, and no mention of Jo Jos Bizarre Adventure?
"I'll show you fear, there is no hell, only darkness." My twitterJoJo is so ridiculously homoerotic it warps right back into being straight.

I am a fan of manga/anime where there is obvious Ho Yay that makes you question whether or not it is a Boys' Love or Girls' Love story even though it officially isn't tagged that.
