I think the show and manga gets away with it by primarily having other girls ask Galko those questions.
Yeah, but in episode one there was this one guy who just went straight ahead and asked her if her breasts are big because they were fondled a lot (not exactly in that word, but heavily implied).
I thought, "Holy fuck, did you just ask her that?"
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel.I wish who ask real life girls about sexuality was so easy.
I love The Stinger in the end of the second chapter.

Watch me destroying my countryit read like the sort of crude sexual banter stupid teenage boys subject teenage girls to; whether that is harassment?

I like this series, it's funny to watch girls discus such unladylike subjects. Also the positive portrayal of Galko is nice, since gyaru are rather maligned group in Japanse subculture.
It's also a trend that has gone obsolete in Japan by mid 2000s.
In actuality, the only thing "gyaru" about Galko is her hair and the fact that she comes to school late frequently. Both of those do make her a delinquent, though.
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel. If being late to school make one a delinquent then I know quite a few.
Episode 2 was once again quite... enlightening. Women hygiene products can be a bit mysterious to guys so the first segment was especially interesting. How do you take those pads out?
Galko is such a nice girl, she took one bite of Otako bread and brought a whole lot of homemade one next day.
I laughed when the blonde guy told the other two Galko would wear pink panties, but in reality he was happy because he knew she had white ones. Even if the reasoning behind it was absurd.
Oppai bread!
How many deliquents can go to my school!?. I`m the Only Sane Man of my school or what? (I always like think about myself as a Cloudcuckoolander).
The Stinger is precious.
Watch me destroying my country@Shlugo - Yeah, Asian schools take the attendance very seriously. Dying your hair is also frowned upon, especially blond. If you dye your hair blond AND come to school late periodically, you are on the list.
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel.I don't think Galko dyes her hair as well, or she's so serious into her act that she dyes her eyebrows?
Scientia et Libertas | Per Aspera ad Astra NovaMore importantly, we need a page for this series.
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel. There you go you two. We'll give it some Wiki Magic after both of you are done.
Per policy I have launched the work article as a stub at Manga. Please Tell Me Galko Chan.
Please note this is not a work I'd wick pimp in the intensity of a certain tween series where I am nearly the only editor, but that doesn't mean I won't edit it.

Scientia et Libertas | Per Aspera ad Astra Nova*drops a picture in*
Just to mention these three guys◊ are recurring characters— (from left) Ota-otoko, Sport-otoko, and Chara-otoko.
Also note in the knife skit in Episode 2, the gag was Lost in Translation—the way Ojou referred to "blades" is the way yakuza calls bladed weapons.
Scientia et Libertas | Per Aspera ad Astra NovaEpisode 3: Nipples are a serious businesses.
Despite being a gyaru, Galko look way better without the tan.
Vanilla is indeed the scent of love.
Yes, because mecha anime are stereotypicaly popular with girls rather than boys.
Otako, you idiot, now you've done it. Thankfully it all ended well. I also predicted that Galko was simply on a sick leave.
On a side note, I can't shake the feeling that the blonde guy was designed to look like Galko if she was a guy. They are the only two who wear those yellow vests even.
As always a very informative episode.
He is, actually. The only one who doesn't have a counterpart is (apparently) Sports-Otoko, because Galko has Ojou instead in her circle of friends.
You know what, I have a feeling that the second half of this episode was an anime original. Sure, Otako likes messing with Galko, but not the kind who would collect materials to mess with her.
Scientia et Libertas | Per Aspera ad Astra NovaI didn't know the bit about Galko's dream is to be a good mother.
Huh. Really?
I mean, is that kind of a dream that a teenaged girl this age has?

I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel.No. Especially in Japan where most people feel that having kids are low priority, to the point it is a crisis.
For a Gyaru it's even more unusual, it's an ultra trendy slutty party girl type who wants to be a mom and likes anime.
Actually aside from her bluntness every one of her personality tropes are playing against type. A Gyaru is typically like Mimi in Digimon, who actually is the pink haired type Gyaru.

Guess its a personal dream for her to be a mother then.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Actually, episode 2 implies a stereotype of gyaru is Really Gets Around, so wanting to have a family is surprising. In fact, Galko is a subversion of any putative gyaru trope, she just looks the part.
Scientia et Libertas | Per Aspera ad Astra NovaWell yeah. A Gyaru is basically the Japanese equivalent to the Paris Hilton trendy party girl type.

Talk about Oshiete, Galko-chan! here.
The series is a comedy manga centered around Galko, a high school girl adopting "gyaru" fashion and have a reputation for being sleazy, but is actually mostly innocuous and well intentioned. However, chapters begin with very lewd questions, such as whether if big breasted girls have bigger areolas (she is very big breasted).
But mostly, it's a slice of life high school comedy series, albeit with some lewd sense of humor. Toned down version of Seitokai Yakuindomo, I might say.
I watched the first episode and few chapters of manga and I like it. I do feel a bit uncomfortable from time to time, though, because the questions that titular Galko get asked are legitimately sexual harrasment. I know I shouldn't think too hard about this kind of thing, but still.
Personally, I am slightly disappointed that the anime didn't keep Galko's manga hair color, which was light purple.
