Send them an email.
No, really, do, that's how they get plenty of their ideas (white death, for example, Joakim has confirmed he heard of due a fan suggestion). I sent them one idea once (about the war of the triple alliance) and Par Sundstrom actually answered, thanking for the suggestion and saying they weren't composing any songs right now, but would keep that in mind.
"All you Fascists bound to lose."Hey, Jack Churchill was not a lunatic; merely he was so badass that it seems like he was a lunatic.
new song is out from their new album... this is going to be awesome
- No Bullets Fly
- In the Name of God
- The Final Solution
There's a lot more, but that's what came to mind at the moment.

"Our Magic is not omnipotent... a little bit of courage is the real magic."Excuse me while I play the Americans in the Argonne map of Verdun.
One day Sabaton needs to make a song about the German attack of Fort de Vaux in 1916.

I am absolutely thrilled they'll have a song about the Last Stand of the Swiss Guard. It is one of the most heroic and little-known affairs I can remember. When the French invaded Rome and started pillaging churches and raping nuns, the Swiss Guard smuggled the Pope out of the Vatican and into the Castle of Saint Angelo to avoid him becoming a prisoner of the French troops. They died down to practically a man fighting in the steps of St. Peter's Basilica, succefully covering the Pope's escape.

it's Sabaton, most of their songs already have flame wars between Neo-Nazi's, Islamophobes, racist and everyone else
advancing the front into TV TropesSabaton have got to be the most fun to see live, at least out of what I've seen. I had a mark on my hand from the pit seeing them last year and it's only just faded. Oh I love them so.
One time, the first time I saw them in fact, they were playing the Purple Turtle in Camden and I arrived super early. So early I just kind of...wandered in while everyone was still setting up. One of the staff spots me and basically just says "Sit still and don't make a fuss" so I do while Sabaton do a little photoshoot MAYBE TEN FEET AWAY FROM ME.
Good times. I cannot underline how good they are live.
I've also had comments blocked on Youtube for so long I even forget they exist...

Stories of nonsense and not much elseOn a lighter note, I'm thinking of making some music videos from Carolus Rex when Cossacks 3 comes out... only the Saxons won't be in the base game, so Killing Ground sort of becomes problematic. Should I just swap the Saxons for the Russians?

mods?
advancing the front into TV Tropesand there are the mandatory flame wars here, mostly brexit ones
The video doesn't seem to be working for me, here's a regular link in case anyone happens to be having the same problem.
This one is a unbashaedly romantic view of the the last stand of the Samurai at The Battle of Shiroyama, the last battle of the Satsuma Rebellion. As much of the song takes a "FUCK YEAH, SAMURAAAI" perspective, Sabaton actually remains impeccably accurate: The song's narrative is actually more or less entirely correct, 500 Samurai vs 30.000 Imperial troops, the 40 last survivors go out in a Last Dance, "the sword faces the gun" (they did actually majorly used the swords during that battle because they were running out of bullets and basically close-quarter fighting was all they could do, and given they were swordmasters facing a regular army, they could plunge through Imperial forces when it came to close-quarter-fighting).
It's a pretty awesome power anthem, not too different from their usual material, but very mighty and explosive. I do hope the album has (like Heroes) more varied songs, like the grim and operatic Inmate 4859 and the saddening The Ballad of Bull or the insane Night Witches.
"All you Fascists bound to lose."Bought the new album the day it was released. Loving it so far.
What I really want to know is.... why the actual fuck hasn't Sabaton's music been used in movies or games yet?
I have listened to their entire album.
It's fantastic, but not as good as Heroes (and Carolus Rex of course still reigns supreme as their Magnum Opus). My favorite songs were Shiroyama (the best "straightforward power anthem" of the album), The Last Stand (The last stand of the Swiss Guard of the Vatican, what's not to love?), and The Last Battle (which is the one that sounds most unique to me, and the theme of Germans and Americans leaving the war past them to fight side-by-side endears me).
The covers (Camouflage, Afraid to Shoot Strangers and All Guns Blazing) are also pretty damn fine. The best of which is probably Camouflage, which is the one that ended up suiting their style and Joakim's vocals the most.
Probably no media was awesome enough to deserve Sabaton.

"All you Fascists bound to lose."Well, there are actual official Sabaton DLC music packs for Europa Universalis IV (containing A Lifetime Of War, Karolinens Bon/The Carolean's Prayer, Carolus Rex, Art Of War, and The Lion From The North (English versions for all tracks from Carolus Rex)) and Hearts of Iron IV (containing Hearts of Iron, Night Witches, Wolfpack, Primo Victoria, and Panzerkampf)

I'm greatly disappointed that the Swedish theme for Cossacks 3 isn't just the unabridged entirety of Carolus Rex (the album, not just the song).
OH FUCK YES.
FIGHT BACK TO BACK, ZULUS ATTACK!
I didn't really pay much attention to this track when I first heard the album but it's steadily growing on me.
"All you Fascists bound to lose."
I've been thinking, I would really like to see Sabaton do a song about Mad Jack Churchill, a lunatic who got the only longbow kill of WW 2, escaped from two POW camps, took a longsword into battle, and, when he recived word that the Atom Bombs had been dropped said "If it wasn't for those damn Yanks, we could have kept the war going another 10 years!" he then went on to serve in Palestine where he defended an Israeli medical convoy from Arab attack and evacuated over 700 doctors, students and patients from a hospital when it too came under Arab attack.
also the Gurkhas, because they're the motherfucking Gurkhas
