Okay, since the perceived issue with the previous RP is that it doesn't have a planned first location, how about we get our first major location to be at a weird music festival/carnival back in Alexi's hometown, Short Beach. If our players doesn't want to go to concerts, they can take part in the carnival part.

I figured that the Siren arts are actually very integral in merfolk's culture, it's just that it's reputation is kinda tainted by the 3 assholes who seduces sailors in and kill them. It's only the last two centuries that the rest of the world accepted it as a legitimate art form instead of a criminal act. To help subside the misunderstanding, the merfolks began a yearly music carnival and invite everyone in to join the fun, the catch is that certain mood are banned from playing in that carnival to avoid damages like seduction and anger.

This year, after an intense debate and later logistical task of securities and medical personnel, the merfolk musical council lifted the ban on anger and paranoid mood and (this world's equivalent of) Death Grips is going to perform there.

I'm not entirely sure on this one since it might be restrictive but eh, worth a shot.

Also, i'm kinda interested in going for the Co-GM thing. I have experiences in GM before and I've managed to see my strength(events, moving the plot along) and my weakness(be random trying my hardest to be funny when it isn't). I can work as a second opinion or a suggestion guy.

The music festival and carnival sounds like a very good starting point. Maybe our characters could all meet up at a food court or the like, before either going off to see a performance or heading to the carnival attractions.

By the way...I was wondering what kind of vehicle we will be travelling in. A coach of some sort, maybe?

No coach. Minivans, RVs, compact cars or bust. :<

(cough) I want sort of like... "regular vehicles." It makes for a sort of more authentic experience of just a group of friends on a road trip. Not a bus tour. We'll have two of said vehicles, and can shuffle the people seated between them, in order to encourage interaction between various characters who might not otherwise.

Ah, If need be, maybe we could say the vans are enchaned to have a slightly bigger interior, so all our luggage can fit and the occupants won't be crammed against each other.

@Gladonost: By the way, I was wondering if Tamae and Hayate would know each other, since they're both Yokai. Maybe she could be the one who encouraged Hayate to use his flute for music as well as magic.

I support Sgt.'s suggestion regarding our first destination. It seems like a rather lively location, and one ripe with potential for shenanigans of all kinds.

Well, even if the first destination isn't the convention, at least I can guarantee you that Tsukika can always count on Alice when it comes to cosplaying for her. The robotic girl isn't picky at all when it comes to fashion, and she's always willing to try new things.

Also, I kinda got a basic idea of how some of our characters became friends in the first place. I only speak for my character though, I'm not sure about the others.

Alexi and Ta-chan: I figured that this two would be the forever arguing music nerds of the group since Alexi prefers modern hardcore stuff while Ta-chan is the one for classical stuff.

Alexi and Rachel: Alexi is actually starting to look into fashion ever since graduation as part of her attitude cleanup and have found comfy-core that's right up the alley. She's willing to expand, though, and went she saw Rachel for the first time, she knew they would make great friends in terms of fashion.

Also, we should probably alternate between original location and previous RP location idea. Mix the new with the old, so to speak.

I have a few ideas on character acceptances and criticisms, but I'm waiting on my co-GM so I can run my ideas by a second opinion.

Starbound said he's not actually accepting characters until all the slots are filled.

Which is weird because if we have exactly 12 and he doesn't accept someone then we wouldn't have all the slots filled so he wouldn't be accepting characters, but then we would have 12 so he would be... paradox, man.

From Taco on sentient items(like Bud):

Sentient items: different from possessed ones due to being created with intelligence as part of their forging. Most of them are on the higher end of intelligence, having been originally created by nerds that wanted the ultimate cosplay prop, or wizards who want an on-board intelligence to handle their swordsmanship. Both of these camps were also of course not satisfied with just having swords; in addition to branching the forms of a Sentient Item into basically anything that one could fit an intelligence into, many Sentient Items also gained supernatural powers. These intelligences can either be formed via an actual magical ritual, or simply through incredibly skilled craftsmanship. These two forms of sentience are typically divided into "ritual" and "mundane," fittingly enough. Sentient Items are too wide-spread to have any singular culture, and as a result of this division have few rights, as they can't exactly unionize if they barely know the other ones exist. The only thing that keeps many Sentient Items from being mistreated is that many can willingly shut off their extra abilities, rendering themselves mundane if their master doesn't suit them. Thus, many Sentient Item labor contracts (if any are ever made at all) are often formed around a simple power dynamic: The Sentient Item can become useless at a critical moment, and the user can throw you away if you don't do what they say. Not perfect, but it's the best they have.

And me and V_Phantom on robots and laws around it:

• V_Phantom:
  • I think Robots will be relatively simple on this setting: They're mostly of the tin can robot variety, (though, humanlike robots aren't that rare, either) firmly Three Laws Compliant and overall nice folks that would never dare to uprise against the organics...Hell! They see all those movies about killer-robots as malicious slander, and even kinda racist.
• Me:
  • So it's like a UN(or Thyrm's equivalent) law that every robot has to under regulations and if passed, be given a license to show that they're under the three laws compliant and therefore safe?
• V_Phantom:
  • Most of them (or ALL of them, why not?) would be powered by Magitek, of course, to add to the fantasy flavor.

Karrin(On three laws Compliant and UN laws): I guess so... Though, depending on how severe they are with the application of the protocol, that could compromise Alice's "safety"... Because, as a sentient machine, (one with a "soul") she's not enterily bound by the three laws.

• Me:
  • Wait, is Alice waterproof?
• V_Phantom:
  • Yep... Though, her "recharge" outlets can make short-circuit if she forgets to shield them before entering into water.

Also, we need a second car. Pendulum is willing to have Alexi provide a second one, but it'd be cool if any of the players could offer up.
