  • Name: Rio Nine/Watch
  • Gender: Male
  • Species: Human
  • Appearance: Rio has tan skin and yellow eyes, with medium length dirty blonde hair. He stands at six feet tall and has a lean, toned build. He has relatively soft features like round cheeks and a small chin, but has sharp eyes and eyebrows, plus longer than normal canines which cause him to slur his words sometimes.
    • Normal clothes: Rio usually wears clothes that invoke an image of a rock star and a wild dog, things like fur collars, sleeveless shirts, chains, and studded jewelry. One constant is some kind of dog collar around his neck, even in formal and business wear, where he wears a leash in a mock up of a tie.
    • Watch: As Watch, Rio wears different clothing, namely an eyemask, a mouth cover, white jacket, and racing pants with army boots. His signature is a long yellow scarf around his neck and a long red sash around his waist. He also spray colors his hair as white.
  • Personality: Rio is loud and rowdy, befitting his status as a Rock star. He will speak his mind at the drop of hat whenever or not anyone wants to hear it. Rio is also a shameless flirt, and will hit on anyone and anything he finds attractive, but mostly in a playful way, and will back off if asked or rebuked. He is also extremely loyal to those he trusts, and will even show a sweet side if he feels especially comfortable. Rio loves Starline more than anything else, and is very critical of the more destructive Stars and the Stars who tend to use more extreme methods, whenever they think of themselves has heroes or villians, which he acts on as Watch.
    • As Watch, he tries to be taciturn and mysterious, attempting to speak in a cryptic manner and leave and arrive through the shadows, but when he feels cocky or flustered his attitude slips to his normal one. He can and will butt in on fights that he believes are getting out of hand and putting people at risk, alongside opposing anyone who terrorizes the people of Starline willingly. One problem he has in either persona is his tendency to get in over his head and not realize it until too late, leaving him flustered and panicky.
  • Ward: Nova
  • Goals: To protect Starline City from those he believes that endanger it, and bring joy to the people with his music.
  • Bonds:
    • Starline: Above all else he cares for Starline city. He considers it his yard and will sink his teeth into anyone who causes trouble.
    • Music: More so performing than the music itself, he loves to put on a show and uplift people through his concerts and albums.
    • Wrestling: Rio has recently fallen in love with the SWF, and has sneaked into a few shows as Watch to see them perform. He wants to perform at one of their shows one day, but his agency has blocked him from opening talks, believing wrestling to be "below" him.
      • Cen Honja: Honja is his current favorite, liking his motivational phrases and seeing him as a kindred spirit. As Watch he once slipped up and punched out a man who dared counter his chant of "Let's go Honja!" with "Honja sucks!"
    • Burgers: Rio loves a good burg, and his social media accounts are often flooded by his pictures of burgers from different wards.
  • Enemies:
    • Careless Stars: Stars who fight without a care for the people and property around him piss him off, and as Watch he fights anyone who endangers the people of Starline.
      • Throttle: He has heard word of a Star named Throttle who's in town to start trouble. Rio has started sniffing around to find and throw him out of town by the scruff, personally.
    • Silicon Street Megacorps: He holds no trust for the organizations who occupy SS, believing them and their robotic troops and greedy natures to be one of the biggests threats to the stablity of Starline City.
    • Being Watch: His alter ego's drastically different nature is less an expression of himself and more a way to keep a massive target off his back. He believes that if he was revealed to be an actively fighting Star it would make it harder to perform for the people and cause his agency to put their fingers into more of his life than he wants, and so presents Watch in a way that is completely unlike his true self.
  • Abilities:
    • Scarves: Watch can telepathically control his scarves away from his body and use them as whips, binds, and even as blades.
    • Brawling: Watch has the strength of ten men, and uses it to fight up close and personal against his foes alongside his scarves, mostly to deal the most damage with as little destruction to the things around him.
    • Powerful Senses: Watch has a superhuman sense of smell and hearing. As Watch he passes it off as ninja like awareness, paranoid in thinking that the ability could be tied to the dog like Rio.
  • Assets: He owns a massive penthouse in Nova, though it's not really filled with much outside of some the basic living items and a large balcony with a high end grill setup on it. He also owns a number of racing bikes, one specifically for use as Watch. He also owns a high end cell phone, but he mostly uses it for communications with his fanbase on social media.
  • Bio: Growing up an orphan, Rio tended to lash out using his abilities as a Star to cause trouble for those around him, mostly for cheap laughs. But as he grew up it became less fun and even started to regret his behavior. Around age 16, Rio started to wander around the different wards out of boredom, learning about the different people and places he never even thought or learned about. Slowly gaining an appreciation for the city around him, it wasn't until he one day performed in a singing contest and felt the rush of the crowd that his feelings for his city and it's people became what it is today. Winning a performance contract and going on to be a new sensation in the music world, he now operates both as a music star and a true Star, hoping to protect the city anyway he knows how.

  • Name: Laois (Lisa) McGrath, née Laoighre O'Hogan. Alias: An Cruithne, Tattoo. Other various pseudonyms.
  • Gender: Mt F Trans.
  • Species: Human.
  • Appearance: Long coppery hair usually kept in a pony tail and kept straight with a lot of product. Her eyes are Greenish-Hazel and usually behind a pair of oval shaped glasses, fairly tall at around 6ft which she is self-concious about especially in heals. She's fairly heavily tattooed but she can use her powers to conceal these while in her civilian identity, typically dressing in skirt, blouse and blazer. As a Star, she dresses in a tartan skirt, wears her hair down and wild and pulls her Tattoos over his face to conceal her identity.
  • Personality: Laois has a history of petty crime in her home in Armagh. Because of this, Laois has developed a gruff exterior and little patience for incompetance, betrayal or disrespect. She can fire back snark and be rather boisterous given the occaision. She's slow to t once she finds herself with friends, she becomes a bit more quiet and awkward. Probing deeper, one will find someone deeply sympathetic, loyal and keen to atone for what they've done and do better by others, though often her distrust can hinder this showing through.
  • Ward: Lives in Avalon, but works in Silicon and spend a fair bit of her time in the Hallows.
  • Goals:
    • Nuturing: Laois wants to try and help others, guide them down the right path in life and avoid the same mistakes she made. If she can guide someone away from the path she took or at least to reform before they get in too deep, she's willing to do whatever she can to help them get a better life, even if it means bending a few rules.
    • Protecting: Laois kept mostly to petty crime but she did hurt others through her actions and she's loath to allow that happen again; both for the sake of the victims and a bit for the criminals themselves. She'll avoid authorities where she can, but she won't let anyone come to harm if she can help it.
    • Making her way: Laois is doing alright keeping a low profile and bluffing her way through with her false I Ds, but she's still living somewhat on edge and extramoney is always a temptation, calling her to fall back on "victimless crimes". Laois' goal is a decent life on the straight and narrow but more broadly, just a decent life.
  • Bonds:
    • Atonement: Precisely how isn't clear, but Laois wants to try and make her life into something more than a petty crook and former rentboy.
    • Home: Laois is hoping to carve a niche and find the acceptance in Starline which she thought she had found in her old life. She'll fight tooth and nail for anyone who knows and accepts her and any place she can, sincerely, call home.
    • Lost Souls: People down and out, having a rough time and toughing it through will always be able to gleam a bit of Laois' softside.
  • Enemies:
    • Authorities: Though she's trying to live on the straight and narrow, at the core her life in Starline is a lie. If anyone were to find that her Social Security and Identity at large are falsified then she could be shipped back to the UK on extradition.
    • Organized Crime: Laois made some enemies both during her old life and when she abandoned it, there's always the chance of running into the more dangerous figures even when she's so far from home. Further, Laois has personally developped something a distaste personally for these groups which she holds in contrast to amateur criminals and petty thugs for being so methodical and comfortable in their crimes.
  • Powers and Abilities:
    • Control over Ink. This can manifest in a few ways, at it's most simple, it can be used for long range communications; shifting words and images on a page, provided she can remember what was on the page before, or mess with communications or memos, even simply spying by "sensing" the ink present in the area, which if she concentrates she can read (though this is more difficult for say a thick novel or a pile of papers where pages are stacked and words are small, than a post-it or single page memo). The Mundane Utility of this power has served Laois pretty well. It also works wonders for forging ID Cards.
      • When it comes to combat control over Ink is a fluid and interesting ability; on the one hand, she can simply use it to blind opponents and flee. But just as often, she can constrain assailants with tendrils of magically controlled ink, or use her control over ink to help increase the flow and strength of her own heavily tattooed body. A similar side effect is that with significant concentration she can control the tattoos on others somewhat; for instance a man with a heavily tattooed arm might be led to hit his cohort or himself as if by involuntary muscle spasm. She can also restrain people, though this requires either a lot of ink to form a sort of coccoon or a lot of concentration to magically hold it in place and in neither case can it be held indefinitely. Theoretically, she could make someone covered in ink into a jerky mannequin this way, but it would take /a lot/ of concenration and she's never tested it before. It's occured to her that she could try to drown someone with this, though she try to avoid dwelling on these sorts of applications.
    • Street Smart: Although she's making an active effort to avoid her old ways, Laois has lived a long time in the underbelly of NI and the Isles in general, as such she's learnt to be fairly savy to make up for a lack of formal education (though she's a fan of Heaney and a couple other poets). Further; when pressed to, Laoise can drink hard and fight harder. She's familiar with guns and relatively skilled with knifes, but uses them only as a last resort (though a Kirk is a part of her Star persona). While again she isn't formally skilled in fighting, her quick wits and fast brutal (and often pragmatic) style can often make up for short comings and counter flashier moves.
  • Assets: A humble... appartment? She's rented out an area of one of the thatched homes with its own kitchen and bathrooms for a moderate amount. She's managed to get an above the board job as a bank teller, though it's only part time. Still, she managed to get away with a decent amount of savings so this life style should suit her for a while; especially if she moves away from Superheroing and towards a more stable income. She currently has some supplies, a couple grand and a few I Ds hidden at the behest of an acquiantance with some charms and wards to prevent discovery in case things go south.
  • Bio: Prior to Starline, Laois (then Laoighre) made a few shitty life choices. Some poorly thought out puppy dog crush ended up getting Laoighre stuck in the underbelly of Belfast and invovled with petty crime. The rap sheet is long and mostly small time, though it does include the occaision of to voluteering as a Guinea pig for a ritual invovling the vandalisation of the Stone of Tara, through which she and ten others (including a couple other guinea pigs like herself) which resulted in unique powers, mostly control over very particular domains; Laoighre herself got control over ink. When Laoighre was ratted out to the Constabulry, she fled. She knew the hint came from someone inside her circle of friends and the already secretive Laoighre decided to cut all ties, as most of her friends were either imprisoned, scattered or secretly traitors. Instead, Laoighre headed overseas, where no one would know her and she could more permenantly transition with her new identity far away from her old life.

Name: Andreia "Chega de Saudade" Loronha.

Gender: Female.

Species: Anhangá (Spirit in Brazilian folklore that protects animals, especially females and young ones).

Appearance: Tallish, around 5' 10". A Little Bit Beastly, most apparent with her ears, which are larger than normal, pointed (kinda; they extend further out than a human's ears, but they're rounded instead of pointy), and have a tuft of fur on the end of each. She also has some small antlers that are just slightly taller than her hair, and look silvery due to the antler velvet on them. Has silvery-white hair to her midback, usually done in a simple ponytail to prevent it getting in the way when she's fighting, and dark red eyes, bordering on maroon. When asked about her unusual hair, she'll say that it's a rare genetic disorder that causes her hair to go grey early. Does have the requisite Cute Little Fangs, but they're only really noticeable if you catch her yawning or something similar. Has a dark grey beanie that she wears to cover her beastly features if she ever needs to leave the slums.

Personality: Andreia is savvy and smartassed, with a tendency towards really bad puns (usually in Portuguese). She prefers to make her displeasure known via Death Glare rather than snark, since they appear to work much better on others. She also has a softer side, and usually prefers the company of children and other women. Often a bit self-conscious about her beastly features, worried about how people unfamiliar with her might react to them. Her Star name comes from the first bossa nova song, Chega de Saudade (Often translated as No More Blues) by Elizete Cardoso, which is also one of her favorites. Due to it's similarities with her home, she loves visiting Embrace of Gaia.

Ward: Nova.

Goals: To protect the world from devastation!... Or at least, her little slice of the city. If others can keep their parts of Starline safe, then great, and she'll help if she can, but Nova takes priority over any other ward.

Bonds:

  • Her people: The homeless, disheveled and downtrodden that she fights to protect. Everyone in Starline technically fits under this banner, but between Andreia's inability to be everywhere at once and the other Stars helping out in other places, she is content with staying in Nova.
  • Nature: Being a nature spirit, Andreia loves nature, and is continually trying to add a bit of green to the greys, blacks and browns of Nova. Her sole success is finding a spot where the sun shines down the whole day amidst the skyscrapers, and, with the help of the locals, creating a small park, where the centerpiece is an oak tree surrounded by a few small flowers and bushes. The park is called Saudade Park, and is a favorite haunt of both Andreia and the other residents. (Saudade has no direct translation, but has been described as the feeling of nostalgia for something that has gone, often along with the knowledge that the something will never return.)

Enemies: Anyone who terrorizes random people - especially her people - or harms nature is going to be added to her personal shit list.

Powers and Abilities:

  • Capoeira: Best described as a mix of martial arts and dance, capoeira is the most famous American martial art, and skilled capoeiristas can easily make your jaw drop at the stunts they manage to pull off while also kicking someone in the face. Andreia was taught capoeira by a friend back in Brazil, and while she is by no means a master at it, she's still good enough at it to defend her people against most threats.
  • Parkour: Living in the shady parts of the city, where it's possible to go from one end of Nova to the other without touching the ground, makes you pretty good at going from place to place in a hurry. Andreia wasn't that good at it at first, being a nature spirit and all, but she soon got the hang of it.
  • Deer form: Andreia's original form is that of an albino doe. She keeps to her humanish form mostly because being a deer amongst skyscrapers is a great way to get shot and sold, though when nobody's watching, she returns to her normal form and does a few laps around her floor, just to revel in it.

Assets: An "apartment" (actually just the second floor of an abandoned building that she's lived in for a while) and a collection of clothes in varying states of dishevelment. That's pretty much it.

Bio: Andreia used to live in the Amazon forest in Brazil, where she capered about as a deer and was full and happy and wanted for nothing. She was also very curious about humans, and often visited the nearby town of Coimbra in human form to see how they worked and what went on. She even made a few friends there, and made sure to see them when she visited. One of them was a capoerista, and he gave her lessons when she visited Coimbra. But one day, after she had turned back into her deer form when she was leaving town, she heard a gasp and the sound of someone crashing through the undergrowth. She had been discovered, and soon enough, poachers found her, tranquilized her, and brought her to Starline to sell. Before they could find a buyer, she shifted to her human form and immediately ran far, far away. She ended up in the slums of Nova, where the local homeless decided to take her in and get her back on her feet, with clothes and what little money they could spare, even though she was plainly not human. Andreia was touched by their hospitality, and decided to make it up to them by acting as their own personal Star, a guiding light shining in the sky when all others had turned away from them.

Leitmotif: [1] (Not quite Brazil, but their theme doesn't fit as well.)

Other: Andreia took her name from the capoeirista's wife. (Putting this here because I couldn't find a good place for it in her bio.)

  • Name: Kimikura (Kimi to her friends) Inara
  • Gender: Female
  • Species: Kitsune-human hybrid
  • Appearance:
    • As human: small (5'1") attractive Asian woman with pale blue eyes and a red Skunk Streak on either side of her head who dresses appropriately and fashionably for Orie, Avalon or Nova depending what ward she's in.
    • As fox: average white fox with red tipped ears and tail
    • As wereform: humanoid but with vulpine features, white fur, fox ears and three tails. also claws and sharp teeth. Slightly larger (5'7} than human form
  • Personality: Offstage she is quiet and focused. On stage she is charismatic and cheerful often playing small pranks on her audience as part of her act. She also has a hedonistic streak loving good clothes and food.
  • Ward: Recently moved to Nova but still frequently visits both Avalon and Orie
  • Goals: Simply put fame, fortune and the good life
  • Bonds:
    • Pleasure: As stated above she's something of a hedonist and hasn't always kept within her means
    • Attention: She loves the spotlight and applause
    • Family: If there's anyone she cares about besides herself it's her parents and siblings
  • Enemies:
    • Boredom: Back when she was a burglar it was as much for the excitement as from financial necessity
    • Obscurity: the flipside of her Attention bond. She is not above causing trouble to make sure all eyes are on her.
    • Bigotry: Being of mixed culture and species she has known her share of prejudice and hates any expression of it whether directed at her or another.
Powers and Abilities: Her abilities and powers are drawn from both her Oriean and Avalonian heritages and make her something of a Jack of All Trades
  • Shapeshifting: Has three forms a noted above under appearances. Her wereform has as noted sharp teeth and claws and is stronger and faster than her human form although not superhumanly so.

  • Magic Spells: She learned these from her father, an Avalonian wizard.
    • Dizzy: Can make someone dazed and confused for a few minutes
    • Armor: Can make whatever she's wearing capable of deflecting swords, claws, arrows and small caliber bullets
    • Unlock: Can open any mechanical locks. Electronic ones are another story.
  • Martial Arts: She is a blue belt in judo.
  • Fencing: Being too small for the heavy weaponry common to Avalon she has trained in fencing and is fairly skilled in it, roughly equivalent to her judo level.
  • Assets:
    • A small but well furnished apartment in Nova where she recently moved.
    • A small, fast two-seater sports convertible.
    • A rapier and main-gauche which she normally keeps in her apartment when she's in Nova. Is more likely to wear it openly when in Orie or Avalon
    • A large wardrobe of fashionable clothing aproprtate to all three of the wards she frequents. Should be noted that her closet is nearly as big as the rest of her apartment
  • Bio: Kimi is the daughter of a kitsune mother and a human Avalonian wizard who while still fond of each other live apart and have what we would call shred custody. Growing up Kimi would spend autumn and winter with her mother and spring and summer with her father. While tyhey both love her mnay of the people she encountered in both societies did not. This caused a desire for positive attention, an attraction to the seamier side of both societies and a hatred of bigotry in all it's forms.

She began by performing in taverns, using her powers of illusion for entertainment purposes. As she gained attention and money she also gained a taste for the finer things in life, sometimes more than she could afford which led to frequent use of her Unlock and Dizzy spells as well as more underhanded uses of her illusions. Eventually this came to both her parents attention, long lectures from both of them and a year spent alone in a tower.

After her release she sought fame in Nova. Her non-human nature and magic have gained her some fame as a novelty act and she recently moved there and acquired an agent but has yet to break into the big time. She has also gained some fame for working for racial harmony and for the poorer of all wards. She files this under "doing well by doing good".

Trump delenda est
Starbound2 Since: Jan, 2001
#30: Mar 5th 2015 at 7:34:39 PM

  • Name: Amadeus von Hertz aka "The Conductor"
  • Age: 54
  • Gender: Male
  • Species: Empowered Human
  • Appearance: A thin, wiry man at 5'10", the Conductor is not especially tall, but his narrow build makes him seem as such. This is amplified by his tuxedo, a classically black suit with rather sharp electric blue lines running vertically down them. His skin is ghostly pale and his hair is equally white, which he wears in large curls like a judge's wig. Along with his tux, he wears a set of gloves with a pair of small, symmetric lightning bolts on the backhand. His eyes are an airy blue.
  • Personality: Irritable. Arrogant. Misanthropic. These are just a few words that can only begin to describe a man whose ego is as large as his train (but more on that later). Amadeus was a man who believed that the only true culture is his own and everything else is either savage or degenerate. Becoming a villain only served to amplify that xenophobic view of his. He loathes modern society and all that spawns from it and seeks to tear it all down, though he's perfectly willing to work with other villains to achieve that end. Don't point out the hypocrisy though - at best, he'll ignore you and claim it's your simplistic mind that just fails to understand a brilliant thinker like him. At worst, he'll shoot lightning at you.
  • Ward: Active mainly in Nova, but has a bone to pick with each ward.
  • Goals: To tear down this degenerate society and all of their newfangled screeches they call music nowadays.
  • Bonds:
    • Classical Music: As far as the Conductor is concerned, there's only one genre of music that's worth respecting, and that's classical. Extends to his obsession with TRUE CULTURE!
    • Throttle: Somewhere down the line, somehow, in some way, has befriended the vehicular villain despite their apparent difference in interest. Seems to be the only person the Conductor bothers to acknowledge.
  • Enemies:
    • Society: Hates Silicon Street's techno, Avalon and Hollow's magical abominations, Orie and Tropical's foreigners, Atlantica needs to sink back into the ocean, and Nova for bringing all of it together. Also, Pleasantville for being too goddamn peaceful.
  • Powers and Abilities:
    • Human Generator: After the accident, the Conductor became a living battery. Well, more than just storing and moving electricity, his body can generate it. Although he needs a medium to use this to its fullest extent, it does mean anybody trying to fight him directly might find themselves in for a nasty shock when throwing a punch.
    • Captive Audience: For whatever reason, the Conductor also has the power to transmit telepathic communication to others. While a more savvy villain might make better use of this, he uses this power to implant classical music directly into people's minds. No one can escape CULTURE, not even with your pathetic headphones!
  • Assets:
    • The Suit: His maestro's tuxedo helps keep the electricity in the Conductor's body under control so he can actually interact with stuff without negative consequences. While zapping everything in sight sounds fun, it's not useful for everyday things.
    • The Baton: An enchanted 15" wand that the Conductor can use to channel his electricity into for most of his attacks. Through it, he can form lightning constructs such as swords, whips, balls, and of course the ever classic (dodgeable) bolt.
    • The Train: Getting a good deal from a villainous engineer online, the Conductor has for himself a large two floor, four car flying train of death and classical music. It's stormy black and has one of those huge wedge things in front, somewhat akin to this but much larger. The sides are decorated with a musical score and instruments highlighted in electric blue, and lined with modified speakers that blast lightning "cannonballs" and classical music at passerbys. The speakers are also along the bottom of the train, for air raids. I also mentioned it could fly, yes? As it storms through the air, it creates rails of lightning that the wheels travel along. It is a behemoth of a vehicle. When not in use, the Conductor uses it as a temporary home.
  • Bio: Once, the Conductor was not a villain but Amadeus, a law abiding, if stuffy and uptight, music composer from Pleasantville. However, one day as he was practicing his baton movements while listening to his music player, the rail system he was riding was caught in the battle between two supers and zapped with lightning, hospitalizing him. He was comatose in the hospital for several weeks until a horrific sound woke him up. The sound of someone's phone playing cheesy pop music with them singing poorly to the misheard lyrics. He subsequently fried the teen's cellphone and sent them into shock, and began his reign of terror as the Conductor.

Putting up my potential second character but likely won't have them involved right off the bat.

  • Name: Connie Ulmer (Alias: Doctor Dosh)
  • Gender: Agender
  • Species: (Mostly) Human (They don't like to talk about it)
  • Appearance: Standing at a very unimposing 5'6", Connie makes up for it with sheer unending anger. Their beady black eyes are filled with rage and sharp metallic teeth are mixed amongst equally sharp natural ones, all of which are constantly knashing. A large triangular nose rises outward from their face, almost like a snout of some kind. A rainbow coloured undercut lies atop the somewhat squashed head. Wears rather garish, high-collared clothing, convinced they are simply ahead of the fashion curve and using it to hide the most damning evidence of their non-human heritage: gills. As Doctor Dosh, they are covered in an armour made entirely out of cash, forming something that looks rather like a medieval suit of armour. Except, y'know, the whole made of cash thing.
  • Personality: Someone once described Connie as a spoiled brat who needed serious anger management therapy. Someone else merely said that they were '2000% mad%'. Neither of these accusers have been heard from since, although most would find themselves in agreement. Connie is an aggressive person, finding personal slights in most conversations and almost never hold back their own commentary. The one exception is in cases where a monetary deal could be struck and even then, it is more of a guideline than a hard and fast rule.
  • Ward: Connie resides in Silicon Street, living out of a small apartment. Having been raised there, they have learned to love and hate it but it is home.
  • Goals: To continue to further their company's holdings, specifically the upcoming 'Doctor Dosh' action figure lineup. Beating up people who annoy them is less of a goal to them and more of a pleasant inevitability.
  • Bonds:
    • Doctor Dosh Action Figure Lineup: Connie really enjoys having money and aims to expand their empire (and ego) by putting out a Doctor Dosh action figure lineup. Unfortunately, the team of experts they hired suggested that singular toy lines (despite Connie explaining that they are, in fact, action figures) do not do near as well as ones with other members such as villains and sidekicks. So, Connie plans on attempting to convince some other Stars to sign their likenesses on board for the action figure line with a rather sizeable amount of compensation being offered, of course.
    • Frederick Ulmer Cancer Killing Intelligence Team: Aside from the wide variety of charitable organizations Connie's father donated to, his will had him start up an organization dedicated to combating cancer as well as many other awful illnesses and afflictions. Connie is dedicated to ensuring that they get the funding they require, as continuing their father's legacy is of the utmost importance.
    • Orphans and Animal Shelters: As noted above, Frederick Ulmer donated a good deal of his fortune to help orphan and animal shelters across the metropolis. Partially for a tax break but mostly because he was, in many ways, a kind-hearted person. As a result, Connie spent a lot of time accompanying their father on visits and the orphans and young animals they met were the closest things to friends Connie ever had. They will not stand for people bringing harm to such important places.
    • Wrestling: Despite having kayfabe as a concept destroyed at a young age, Connie still found the sport/entertainment intriguing. Connie has debated sponsoring a wrestler, if they can figure out a way to free up some extra money, after the expenses of running the family company, the large charitable donations to both the memorial organization and the assorted shelters, needing money to procure the rights to Stars for the action figures, and, of course, Doctor Dosh's armour.
  • Enemies:
    • Self-Proclaimed Heroes: Due to Connie's father being a less-than above-board businessman, he was lumped together with many of the other white-collar crooks of Silicon Street. A few years ago, Connie saw their father imprisoned in the name of 'justice'. He may have been a cutthroat businessman but Connie knew that he helped far more people than he hurt. Seeing Stars running around, beating up so-called 'villains' and declaring themselves saviours of the city fills them with far more hatred than most things. If they really wanted to help society, they'd volunteer at the shelters, Hero knows they are understaffed and overworked.
    • People Who Discriminate Based on Money: Whether some self-righteous crusaders claiming that money is the root of all evil or some corporate head who thinks that the poor are disgusting make Connie boil with rage. Having suffered from the former and born witness to the latter, Connie will not abide by such attitudes.
    • People Who Hate Sharks: Connie thinks that sharks are pretty great. No real reason. Anyone who hates the gentle killing machines of the sea is not to be trusted.
    • Most Anything Else: Connie is easily angered so it is best to try and connect yourself to one of their Bonds if you don't want to get on their bad side.
  • Powers and Abilities:
    • Mass Overload: Connie has the bizarre ability to overload an inanimate object with mass. What this means is that they can cause an inanimate object to hit far harder than it should at the cost of its durability. Think of it like overclocking. This ability operates best on things that were formerly animate, notably wood products such as wooden barstools. One bizarre exception is printed bills, which seem to hold the excess mass without deteriorating at a faster pace. As a result, the Doctor Dosh suit of cash armour is one of the toughest materials around, turning damn near any piercing or hacking attacks aside. Heavy enough blunt force will still travel through the armour, however.
    • Non-Human Heritage: Connie's non-human heritage does provide them with certain advantages as well as some drawbacks. They can breathe underwater as easily as above it, their jaw can exert far more pressure than most, they can easily track the scent of blood, their strength is above the usual standard human limitations, and they have literal thick skin. On the downsides, Connie cannot stomache grains, fruits, or vegetables, their vision is weak and glasses do not seem to remedy this, and the occasional prick will give them issues over their 'bloodline impurities'.
    • Universal Censor: Due to the cosmos having a particularly sly sense of humour, Connie's near constant stream of profanities seem to bleep themselves out, in a way. While this made expressing anger extra frustrating, on the brightside, all of Doctor Dosh's catchphrases are /technically/ PG-13.
  • Assets:
    • A small but comfy apartment on Silicon Street
    • A tricked out sports car
    • The Doctor Dosh suit (with a few dozen extras, just in case)
    • An action figure production factory, located in central Nova
    • A state-of-the-art smartphone, used for both business co-ordination and social media managing of the Doctor Dosh brand
    • L-O-D-S-OF-E-M-O-N-E, what's that spell? LOADS OF MONEY (probly)
  • Bio: Connie Ulmer was born to a mother they never met. Their father, Frederick Ulmer, was the head of Ulmer Conglomerate, one of the larger companies of Silicon Street. Their slogan, "We Help With Everything", might seem a tad suspicious but Frederick Ulmer was one of the less awful prominent businesspeople of Silicon Street. He took Connie in before they can remember and was a very caring father. He would take young Connie to visit the shelters to meet with other children and play with the formerly abused animals and life was grand. But then, some overzealous Stars took it upon themselves to eliminate some Silicon Street heads they found to not conform to their morality code. Frederick Ulmer was one of them. Luckily, he realized being the head of such a prolific company entailed some risks and made sure that Connie could be looked after once he was thrown in the big house. The company remained in the Ulmer family, with some of the higher ups assisting Connie in running it. After their father's arrest, Connie began to exhibit unusual powers, aside from the strange censoring powers they had since they first learned how to swear. Rather than seek revenge, Connie decided to use their powers in an unusual way; creating a persona to sell action figures to further increase the money that would go to charities. Connie now finds themselves with the unenviable task of convincing multiple superpowered whackjobs to sign their likeness over for the greater good. Not that Connie felt that anyone gave a s@!t about that stuff anymore.

EDIT: Frederick Ulmer is no longer dead, merely imprisoned for life. Although if you ask Connie, they'll say that life in prison is more or less death.

If daltar doesn't show up this week I'll just take the idea and start the RP myself. I'll make a separate signups topic if people feel it's necessary. There is a lot of interest for this concept so it needs to at least be attempted.

If people post and say they don't want it to happen then it won't. Simple enough imo. With any luck daltar will re-appear and it'll never even come up.

Avery Snyder: Approved. May put in Bonds her mother as well, given the obvious care.

Throttle: Approved, he could use a bit more humanity I think but it's alright.

Cen Honja: Approved.

Grim Junoire: A bit too sparse, Bonds should also include things and people you care about. Should also tell me those secret magic powers.

kkutwar: You can use various characters.

Mattrin Crossgate: Approved.

Hugh Santos: Approved.

Chiasa Bakatsunomonobo: Approved.

Mary Mac Quillen: Approved.

Cat Sith: Approved.

Rio Nine: Approved.

Laois (Lisa) Mc Grath: Approved.

Andreia "Chega de Saudade" Loronha: Approved.

Kimikura Inara: Approved.

Amadeus von Hertz: Approved.

Connie Ulmer: Hmmm may rework the backstory a little, as actual murders are somewhat rare in the setting, specially of someone that wasn't doing anything all that bad. Otherwise, approved.

Discussion Thread is here!

Also, let me introduce a few more wards.

  • Ishrah: The most desert-like of the Wards, Ishrah is a ward for those that can't stand the cold and that honors ancient traditions of those who walked through the sands. Bazaars, lavish palaces, deep vibrant oasis giving a dot of color to the rest of the land... this and much more can be found within this Ward. On their border with The Hollow there lie ancient ruins hidden beneath the sand from which it is said that Lords and Gods of time past rest. Closer to Silicon Valley you can find some of the tallest skyscrapers in the whole cit as well as amazing touristic destinations and lavish entertainment with the latest technology.

  • The Fiefdoms of Euralia: Set close to Avalon lie the Fiefdoms of Euralia, a Ward that is split into tons of small neighborhoods and territories in constant conflict to expand their domains. Plagued with Kings, Queens, Emperors, Barons and the like (Some actual nobility, some merely 'elected' community leaders) who field their knights, ladies and gentlemen to struggle and fight in their honor. Most famous territories within are Albion and Galia, constantly at war, New Rome, Olympus, Barcelon and many others. Quite a colorful ward, with tons of varied culture depending on which neighborhood you visit.

  • Winterland: The grim up north of Starline city harbors some of the most rugged inhabitants of them all. In a place where snow is constantly falling, sometime accompanied with bucket sized pieces of hail, only the strong survive. Closest to the border the cold is still bearable and even charming to live in, but further North you will only find temperatures plummeting and all that can survive it are hardy folk, giants and possibly ice witches in frozen palaces.

  • Embrace of Gaia: A ward devoid of any technology, would be considered nothing but forest and jungleland by some if not for the efforts of the community within to have their voices heard. A realm of faeries, dryads, treants the nature loving and many many animals, this is a wild place that defend themselves with thorn, fang, claw and magic from those who at times would try to steal their resources and disturb their peace.

If I'm sure of something it's that I'm not sure of anything.

  • Name:Mr. Murnau, sometimes referred to as The Lurk, The King in the Sewers, The First Amongst Vermin and by friends close enough to make fun of him, Vampire Che.
  • Gender:Male
  • Species:Human (Vampire)
  • Apperance:The curse effects everyone a little differently; sometimes Mormon houswives dedicate several novels to how pretty you are, sometimes you get the ugly stick. Now quit staring.
  • Personality:After so many years of unlife, Murnau considers himself well past agnsting about the kind of person that he is. He knows that his affliction has made him more aggressive and and petty than the mortal standard (he is a predator, after all), but has also gifted him with a certain compassion for spurned, downtrodden, and deformed. He strives for pragmaticism and functionality, eternally spiteful (and perhaps a tad envious) of the vain, extravagant, and immodest. For his convictions, he's willing to kill, though he's willing to settle for the abject humiliation and demoralization of his enemies of killing is rendered impractical. Making them into an unwilling/unwitting asset in his plans is even better than that.
  • Ward: The Hollow
  • Goals: To empower Starline Cities' low class citizenry, both human and 'monster'. Whether that goal is achieved through offering direct aid to the poor or waging a war against the rich and powerful depends on the time. The utter destruction of vampire high-society takes a special priority in his 'heart'. Though he considers it an extraordinarily unlikely event, he'd like to see Starline City restructured to resemble a commune (most property being owned in common, workplaces being run collectively)
  • Bonds: It's made clear enough by his goals. He plays a significant hand in the funding of Starline Citys' homeless shelters, soup kitchens, and orphanages. He's also taken to befriending/sheltering supernatural creatures that haven't found a place in society, either because of the unusually immense fear they provoke to the common man, or because they were shunned by their own kind. He does what he can to help them adjust and possibly reintegrate, but that isn't always possible. Mr.Murnau also has a few representatives in Starline's trade unions, limited mainly to construction crews and factor workers.
  • Enemies: That list is a mile long abridged verson; anyone who abuses their position in society, and anyone who uses their natural assets (beauty in-particular) to exploit others. Creatures that harm/kill for the simple pleasure of it are no friends of his, and at best he'll refuse them shelter from the wrath they've called down on their heads. The same applies to willing members of organized crime syndicates, if their presence is making poor communities suffer.
  • Powers and Abilities: Being a hideous, bloodsucking monstrosity isn't all terrible. Just mostly terrible.
    • Immortality Obviously, he's not going to die of aging. And technically, he's eternally young (for all the good that does). But he's one tough son of a bitch, even by vampire standards; with the sole exception of sunlight, he can't be permanently killed. Limbed, decapitated, impaled, burned, crushed, gored, that can slow him down for hours on end, particularly if his limbs are crushed. But unless any of those things ends up with him being immersed in Sol's sweet embrace, he'll be back. Even standing in a shadow on a particularly sunny day can render him unconscious in minutes, his weakness to sunlight being grater than most of his kind. Being fed blood aids his regeneration process significantly.
    • Strength: He won't be juggling minivans any time in the near future, Mr.Murnau can)] work through iron and concrete like they were lumps of clay and jump multiple stories high. Many of the roughshod tunnels that've appeared throughout Starline City's substructure throughout the centuries were dug out by him personally. Having razor sharp claws that are almost as long as your palm helps. To some extent though, the laws of physics still apply to him; if he were to hoist a car above him, there'd be a real danger of the car collapsing around his hands. Tactile telekinesis was not part of the package, to his chagrin.
    • Senses: Sharper than an obsidian dagger, with a shared speciality for the blood of mortals. Night vision included, naturally, but areas saturated in ultra-violet light are difficult for him. Caution, may lunge towards the light-switch and any living being near it.
    • Ghouling: By feeding a dying (and/or willing) person his blood, he can bring them back to good health rather quickly. However, his blood takes on an extraordinarily addictive quality to the person, and depending on their willpower, they may become servile to Murnau as a newly-born ghoul. Perks include increased durability and just increased (though still within the realm of human) strength. Otherwise, the ghoul looks a bit more on the corpse-ey side, but they won't be getting harassed by freelance morticians.
    • Pestilence:Mr. Murnau can telepathically connect to creatures that are considered vermin/pests by society, like rats, snakes, wasps, worms, stray dogs, and even certain kinds of weeds and fungi. He can command them to do his bidding, partaking in their sights and memories, mutating them into enlarged monstrosities by having them sample his blood. The last of these abilities tax him significantly. Side note, he isn't too haughty to feed from pests like some of his upper-class brethren, and can be sustained by them alone for some time.
    • Sneaking: Seemingly unable to obscure his wretched form with a glamour like other vampires, Mr.Murnau was forced to train himself in actual stealth instead of social stealth throughout the years. His ability to slip by unseen and unheard is the envy a many thieves, gaining even a chameleonic quality while in the dark. Lacking any sort of body heat makes him difficult to detect by machines. Despite all this Mr.Murnau has noticed that mortals become nervous around him, even when they can't actually see him. As if their very souls could tell that death was near, even if he didn't mean them the slightest bit of harm. And he can't prevent himself from smelling like it, either, making domesticated dogs a slight problem.
    • Mobility: Not the fastest of vampires either; his warped anatomy hinders him in the 'legging it' area. A speeding car or a racehorse is going to have him eating dirt before long, and an athletic human can turn corners better. Can crawl long surfaces at a little below running speed, and squeeze through spaces smaller than him in a manner similar to a mouse. That last part is particularly unpleasant to watch.
    • Cracking/Decryption: Last and not necessarily least, he's quite computer literate, capable of bypassing high-end security systems and remaining anonymous given enough time. There are plenty of perfectly 'normal' mortals better than him at this though, he's not immune to mistakes.
  • Assets:
    • The Sewer System: Even when he didn't play a direct hand in their construction, he was at least aware of it. They are, for all intents and purposes, home for him and his outcast people. Damp, leaky, atrocious smelling home. His private 'lair' is located underneath the hollow, resembling a subterranean bunker more than anything else.
    • The Network: He has friends in low places, so to speak. Various monsters, vagrants, bums, maids, menial workers, hermits, postal workers, introverted computer wizards, that sort of thing. People (and non people) who are considered below notice by the upper-crust. With their efforts combined, they can keep an eye out for one-another and anyone who'd put them in harms way. If you have something to give, or something to take, you have a family with them. Maybe not the most powerful family in the city, or the most well-informed, but a family nonetheless. Mess with them, and don't be surprised if a few shotgun-wielding hobos go your way. Failing that, congratulations, you've pissed off the Morlocks.
  • Sanctuary:Mr.Murnau took an interest bug collecting some time back, though instead of killing them an pinning them to a board, he spirits them to about a mile long stretch of forest right in the Embrace of Gaia. The area's become a haven for creatures that buzz, crawls, and skitter across the floor.
  • Bio/Unbio: His life until the point that he was turned was not necessarily complex. His family was minor nobility in the time that the Hollow was considered one of the newer parts of town, and as such he lived well enough alongside a family that cared for him. Looking back at his mortality, Murnau would say the worst mistake he'd made was his penchant for womanizing (as if anyone would believe that now). But a tragic mistake it was; during Festival Muerte, he found himself 'sidetracked' by a woman of preternatural beauty and significant means. Not ten minutes of conversation, and he was sold on the idea of accompanying her home, making especially sure that neither of them were even seen leaving. To his credit, he kept her entertained enough to actually make it to her Manse before being viciously mauled and desanguinated, and apparently entertained enough to 'gift' him with her unique condition. But upon him seeing a group of her previous victims -or rather, what remained of them- strewn across the floor like porcelain dolls, it was immediately clear to Murnau that he wasn't long for life as he knew it. Before he could even turn towards the creature that'd led him here, he was forcefully held in place, as if by a man several times his size. There was no romance in what came next, his passing screams falling on deaf ears. A night later, he rose from the exact spot he'd died, his 'benefactor' nowhere to be seen. It wasn't five minutes longer than that when he'd discovered whatever he'd inherited from her didn't protect him from mirrors. He fled the mansion in a blind panic, bursting through the walls as if they were nothing but parchment. Fortunately (or unfortunately), he'd regained just enough of his wits before entering town to be horrified at how people might react to a disfigured cadaver going berserk in the town square. If he didn't want to be hunted down like an animal, he would have to hide from the world he knew. Quietly slipping under the nearest manhole, he began traversing what'd become his new home, sating his newfound thirst on the blood of rats. He found others down there, some stray vampires, some creatures altogether more disturbing. He pieced together what he could from their accounts about just what had happened to them, and his horror about the dangers above ground began to be accompanied by a deep, welling rage. There were many more like the woman who'd cursed him, and through the shadowy aristocracy they'd formed, they could take lives and ruin them at their leisure. As he had found out over decades of information gathering and spying, there were even a number of powerful mortals in on the operation, funding the vampire's efforts in exchange for a chance at immortality. One way or another, Mr.Murnau resolved to end this.

  • Name: Aheer A.K.A The Mummy
  • Gender: Male (formerly at any rate)
  • Species: Cybernetic mummy
  • Appearance: Aheer is a partially restored mummy, his muscles have been restored to full strength as well as his organs important for sensory input but his skin has not (Jerry in HR thought this would look more intimidating.) His entire right arm is robotic and he wears his burial wraps under army fatigues he stole off a guard.
  • Personality: He's actually quite a gentleman when he isn't busy tracking down a lead or out on assignment. Aheer is in addition quite calm and level headed and prefers to stop and think things through before charging in.
  • Ward: He was revitalized in Silicone street at one of the mega-corps but has set up his base of operations in Ishrah
  • Goals: To find his brother and eliminate any targets he is paid to
  • Bonds:
    • Family: He is currently looking for his brother who has also been revived and is operating somewhere in the city.
    • Manners: Just because he needs to stab you through the heart doesn't mean you are to be treated like some beggar on the street.
    • Aesthetic: Dammit, if he's going to be alive again for any period of time his home must look nice!
  • Enemies:
    • 'Stop reviving us!: A mega-corp revived him, and something else has revived and controlled his brother (or so Aheer assumes) both of them? Going down.
    • Necromancers: One revival was quite enough, thank you?
    • Collateral damage:' What do you mean it doesn't matter? There was one target, and only one. No need to involve the innocents in this affair
  • Powers and Abilities:
    • Cybernetic enhancements: Able to lift as much as ten men. His sight and hearing has also been amplified, also wrist blades.
    • Invisibility: The mega-corp tapped some genetic markers he had during the revival process and Aheer work up with the power of invisibility.
  • Assets: He has a house made of rocks, it is surprisingly plush on the inside. Aheer has an assassination business which provides him with some much needed income. He also has an automatic rifle he stole off a meg-corp guard on his way out
  • Bio: Aheer and his brother were both assassins for the Pharoh back when they were alive, so renowned were they for their skill that the brothers were given an honorable burial when they were killed. In the modern day Aheer woke up on a lab table in a Mega-corp known as Os conglomorate. They had broken into his tomb and brought him to Starline to combat his brother who had attacked Os and other companies, several times. Aheer objected and a fight broke out between him and the security forces, the security forces lost and with all information needed to operate in the modern day already directly downloaded into his brain by Os, Aheer struck out on his own. Since then he has established a base of operations, set up an assassination business in order to have a flow of income and witnessed several other Stars in action which has left him awed.
