Simple, name the game that you are most lucky to own. List the game and how you got it.

Mine is Xenoblade Chronicles.

I was gonna buy it from an Amazon seller for $80 (It was after Christmas), but it turned out it was a PAL copy. Luckily, Game Fly had it available to rent, and I could purchase it for $60. I rented it, liked it enough, paid $60 to have the case sent to me.

Speaking of Xenoblade, I walked into my local store a month or two after release and bought their final copy. They literally started taking down their display as I paid for the game. That said, I have quite a few short-printed games, so it's hard to say which is the one I'm most lucky to have.

Sakura Wars; So Long, My Love, PAL version. 'twas quite the find amongst the used games section, and I got it for only 10 euros.

Other than that, well, I suppose I got plenty of short-printed stuff, but most were acquired either by pre-ordering or throwing way too much money at the problem. (Eighty euros for Tales Of Symphonia? Thieves, all of you!)

Which reminds me, I never got around to actually playing Tales of Symphonia. I might want to correct that one of these days.

Chrono Trigger.

The time is Christmas of 1995. The place is my High School.

My best friend at the time and I agree to try out our first (true) RP Gs ever. Flipping through a gaming magazine, we find two that suit our fancy: Secret of Evermore, and Chrono Trigger. The two of us decide to try each game separately and then let the other borrow it when finished. I chose Evermore because, judging from the images in the mag, Evermore's graphics seem to be way superior and the bosses look absolutely amazing. As such, my friend chose Trigger.

And then, came an unexpected plot twist. My friend's mother bought him the wrong game (Evermore), which meant that now I had to play Trigger so that we can both eventually play the game we wanted to play.

And that's how I came to play my absolute favorite game of all-time.

I have Xenoblade Chronicles and Metroid Prime Trilogy on disc.

For Xenoblade Chronicles I preordered it.

For Metroid Prime Trilogy I decided to walk into a Gamestop after Nintendo announced they discontinued it and it was still on the shelf in the packaging and for a normal price.

[up][up]I'm so lucky to have not been born then. I am lucky that I got Chrono Trigger at a cheap price....on the Wii's Virtual Console.

Oh, right, I forgot about Metroid Prime Trilogy. I won that one in a lottery. For free. Didn't even have to pay to enter.

I didn't mention that one before because I just couldn't get into it. FPS in any shape or form is just not my genre.

I USED to own a cartridge copy of Shantae, but I thought it was too hard so I either gave it back, gave it away, or just plain lost it. (I got and beat the game on VC, though.)

As for games I still own, I have Gotcha Force, a brand new copy of Xenoblade, Earthbound complete with player's guide (got it for free from my aunts), Final Fantasy VI/III for the SNES, Pikmin 1 and 2 for the Gamecube, Pokémon Colosseum, A Link to the Past for SNES, Yoshi's Island for SNES, Mario 3 and its manual, Ocarina of Time for N64, and Pokémon Red and Blue. Among others. After the Shantae incident I never threw anything out, ever.

I dunno how rare some of those are, but they're pretty expensive to buy.

Xenoblade - found a "used" copy at Game Stop last summer.

Metroid Prime Trilogy - birthday gift. I had no idea it was even a thing until I got it. By definition my luckiest.

The World Ends With You - was looking everywhere I could in 2008, was too young to get it via Amazon. Chanced upon a new copy at Game Stop while out of state visiting family for the holidays.

Xenoblade and TWEWY, probably. The former was preordered, and the latter I got shortly after it came out.

I would say Earth Bound on the Wii U, because I was too young to play it when it came out in 1995 (I was born in 1993). And I've never owned an SNES.

I'd say it'd have to be my Shantae cartridge. I knew not how valuable it's become, not that I'd ever sell it. That and sadly the VC port of it lacks the GBA enhancements. No idea why they couldn't be bothered to include that. Now the only way most others can use the Tinkerbat transformation is if they backed the Half Genie hero thing.

Ah, man. I wish I was as lucky as you. I've been trying to find that game cheap for years. Granted, I haven't been trying very hard but still!
