She isn't clumsy though, she is just not at all athletic. Totally different things.

At least for me, her lack of athleticism is comical enough to be called clumsy. In real life people usually don't trip and fall on a 100-metre.
Hey look, someone's on tv.◊
Give the God Eater game thread some love!
I suppose that's not the "dangerous stuff" Shiina was talking about.
I'm getting the feeling that the author is a depressive
WMG it bro.
Loves feel-good animation a whole lot.Episode 10:
This was such a nice episode. They really helped Yuuki to gain some courage. Oh and it was nice actually getting to know her after she's been shown through the season.
Will she be a teacher at their High School?
Episode 10: Suddenly, random socially-awkward pizza girl.
- Shoot, I forgot they were still in middle school. That's messed up. Kirin isn't small and immature, Ryou is huge and overly mature!
- It's pretty easy to sympathize with a zombie if all that zombie wants is friends.
- Uchiki's room is pretty cute.
- My only friends are cats too! I don't even have any bird friends!
- Hey, it takes a lot of courage to order pizza, Uchiki is braver than she thinks she is.
- And such specific toppings too, she must have a lot of guts!
- It takes a lot of generosity to give away a pizza.
- Girl, it is not, your apartment is pink, Ryou's apartment is vanilla and devoid of even an ounce of personality by comparison.
- Every day? How does she pay for all that pizza? Aside from that, that's just not healthy.
- Uchiki is the chosen one! Her eating persona is the weirdest of them all!
- Now please, eat something other than pizza, I think that's a priority over making friends!
Heartwarming, greasy, artery-clogging episode.

Loves feel-good animation a whole lot.Time for pizza girl's time to shine. Ah, the shy type. One not fond of belly dancing. Kirin continues to demonstrate supreme balance. Only pizza for three weeks? I like pizza, but that's a bit much. Pizza and wings. Now here's a meal I can empathize with. Yuuki may have a bright future ahead of her after all.
Your preferences are not everyone else's preferences.Wait, why does Yuki want to be a teacher when she's terrified of people?
Loves feel-good animation a whole lot.First of all, manga-anime divergence. For this episode, this is basically an issue of in-universe time. Chapter 16 happens on the day before Ryou, Kirin and Shiina starts their high school in the same school, and after Kirin moved into Ryou's apartment, while the anime moved it 1-2 months earlier, before the girls even took the admission exams. If S 2 E 1 of Hidamari is a guide, such exams usually take place in mid-February.
- Seems like Yuki doesn't even like to be with people in general.
- What a glommy Rule of Symbolism.
- Note: When Shiina mentioned "the core subjects," she mean the academics.
- The Little Zombie and his Merry Friends... I can't guess whether this is a Shout-Out.
- Is Ryou wearing a corset here?!
- Where does the bellydancing comment come from?
- Yuki's Guilt Complex.
- Yuki's Internal Monologues seems to be pretty perspective about Kirin.
- There comes the pizza. Ruise wondered if she was actually brave, and I would say she probably is—she ordered a complicated pizza on the phone, despite Shaft knows it well pizzas can be ordered online (Hidamari).
- Headscratcher: What does the Japanese mean by "gratin"? Au gratin foods don't look like this.
- Dividing a pizza for 4 meals implies she eats 2 slices per meal. Maybe my SO complains me eating too little, I don't eat that little.
- Pizza, chicken, and home fries.
- Cheese too melty to be realistic to me.
- Is being watched by Yuki while eating that embarrassing? It's not really an orgasm.
- Ryou self-reflects again, and gives Yuki an advice.
- Pizza Hut in Japan has more than 20 types of pizza. But given Yuki used something that's not even a bland-named Pizza Hut, that may not apply.
- But pizza only for 3 weeks?
- Yuki foodgasms as well.
- Kirin can't into spiciness.
To answer you all who want to be spoiled: Yuki becomes the librarian of the Needlehill High School of the Arts.
@Hylarn at 107: Given Yuki is the second depressive of the entire cast (Ryou being the first), I can't really reject your argument.
EDIT: Apparently CR misselt Pizza-chan given name. I'll stick to Yuki◊ in the articles.

Scientia et Libertas | Per Aspera ad Astra NovaShe might be applying for a different job. Would be a nice spin on things actually.
A note before Episode 11: The 10 episodes before it were adapted from one manga chapter each. This episode is adapted from 2 chapters (13 and 14), hence the appearance of two stories.
Scientia et Libertas | Per Aspera ad Astra NovaAnime sometimes go to silly length to justify workaholism and absent parenting. Also, no matter how the show tries to present it, Ryou seems to be pretty affected by her parents absence.
Kirin was such a brat in the second story. And those cutlets look delicious.
I'm hungry.
A very Shafty episode. Is the kids living away from their parents an actual thing in Japan, or is it just an anime thing? What is Ryou's parents hiding? Shiina has her priorities straight. Not sure if she can emanate enough good luck for the two of them though.
Your preferences are not everyone else's preferences.
I think part of the series involves a mild deconstruction of Minor Living Alone, so I don't think the anime has any intention of sugar-coating it. Remember, the Central Theme is "Food is the best when Shared."

Scientia et Libertas | Per Aspera ad Astra NovaThat's a good point, but it still get sometimes treated pretty lightly by th characters. Honestly, Ryou is melancholic to the point of being on the verge of a depression. I don't want to think how would she hold up without Kirin and Shiina.
I put it as "at one point, Ryou is dangerously close to major depression." Her finding food bland at Ep 1 is the Exhibit A.
Scientia et Libertas | Per Aspera ad Astra NovaNow Koufuku Graffiti has a WMG page provided it's hard to ignore the issue of Ryou's parents' jobs.
Scientia et Libertas | Per Aspera ad Astra NovaEpisode 11: Ryou's parents are actually the true rulers of Earth and decide the ultimate fate of humanity.
- Kirin is still into cooking.
- The manga author really likes their eggs raw don't they.
- Shiina is evil.
- The ganbare aura is the ultimate Buddhist sutra.
I really hope season 2.
Loves feel-good animation a whole lot.Trivia: The manga is the rare Kirara series that has a minimum Comic-Book Time. Current serializations put the time at the Fall of their 10th grade, although there's a special chapter (Ryou making breakfast for Kirin) that's set when they're Second Year protagonists.
Writeup for Ep 11 tomorrow.
Scientia et Libertas | Per Aspera ad Astra NovaA little problem back in episode 10: Is Ryou wearing a corset?
Episode 11, Exam-season Specials
- Episode 11a (Chapter 13)
- It appears to me that Ryou's fridge comes from a 2008 Electrolux concept.
- Ryou, are you sure you won't be lonely at all even with Kirin living in your apartment? After all, they're not Parental Substitutes.
- If that country sells all 4 Japanese flavours (shoyu, shio, miso, tonkotsu), it is likely to be Asia.
- Ryou's mom says Ryou is an airhead, but I think she may be even more airheaded than Ryou is.
- Ramen is so stereotyped for late-night snack so that Kirin can't touch it...?
- As mentioned by some others, I thought ninth-graders don't study Maslow. (Of course, psychology may come in handy if they want to work at advertising).
- Sounds like Ryou is also somehow Obsessed with Food in that it's impossible to get food out of her head unless she has eaten. Of course not at the level of Kirin the food-wearer.
- Translation Error: At ~5:22, CR have Ryou said "If I could, I'd take over the family estate..." actually she means "I'd form a family (by marrying)..." This is probably why Kirin won't allow it.
- Flashback starts and ends with a online dictionary swipe. OK, that's Shaft for you.
- OK, Kirin, we all know you're quite physical... but are you really fit to be a bodyguard? (Note: Anime skipped a line explaining why Ryou doesn't have a bodyguard—Grandma refused.)
- Ryou, you're addressing the roof again... We are your grandma, right?
- Kirin, that's your mom's, not Ryou's mom's home cooking...and you're addressing to the roof too?
- Thick-cut bacon? Strangely, it's hard to get by in Eagleland.
- (Discussions on Ryou's parents skipped—we have enough already.)
- Episode 11b (Chapter 14)
- Shiina, I think many a Poor Artist will disagree with your prayer.
- I recall some viewers from 4chan said the case of Shiina's admission through recommendation is a case of Rich Dad/Poor Dad. I would like to remind readers here that Hidamari's Miyako, for per poverty, also entered Yamabuki through recommendation. While this does not indicate anything SES, it does mean Shiina is probably stronger than Ryou and Kirin academically.
- Ryou is really mature...
- ...when it come to charms, not so much.
- Tonkatsu sandwiches. Not the first time I've heard of them even in this context.
- ..but I don't know about the cabbage.
- Again, the passers-by noted the girls' foodgasms are not normal.
- Tsuyuko:
- How do you infuse the good-luck aura?
- Is Shiina... actually your daughter?
- Hm, so Shiina softened out a bit.
- On exam day... Shiina ia back to cool, aloof, and potentially tsundere.

Scientia et Libertas | Per Aspera ad Astra NovaWell, finale is subbed. Not very finale-like, but that's not really a surprise
Kind of odd feelings on this series. I loved the art and direction, but didn't particularly care for what was actually happening. I'm not really clear on the series' overall quality, though, since it's heavily sentimental and I can't really feel sentiment
Let's say I don't personally like episode 8 because I don't think Cute Clumsy Girl belongs to Ryou's trope list.
