I buy many horror games as I am interested enough in them to want to play them... but I am too much of a chicken to play them for long or even at all.

Latest victims to this problem are Amnesia: The Dark Decent and Five Nights at Freddy's.

I swear I will play them one day, just not tonight. Tomorrow doesn't look too hopeful either.

I only played Call of Duty: Black Ops II for the stat-tracking, and traded it back in when Activision announced it was discontinuing it.

I hope you get tiny bits of eggshell in all your omelettes for the rest of your life!

First time I played Pikmin 2, my cousin and I lost all of our Pikmin to the Empress Bulblax. For years I was terrified of facing her again, and thus didn't go back to the Hole of Beasts for some time.

To be fair, though, knowing that a boss is coming is always one of the scariest feelings in that game. Forget the Waterwraith, have you seen the Beady Long-Legs? The thing's enormous.

I rock a white Ghastly Gibus on most of my Team Fortress 2 Characters in spite of the fact that I'm technically premium (having purchased a Frontier Justice for my Engie on the Steam Store when it went on sale).

Painting a Gibus absolves the wearer of any perceived noobishness, as usually also does the Ghastlierest Gibus. Or whatever it's called.

After that it's just skill.

[up][up][up]First time I entered the Submerged Castle, I did not heed the ship's warning and suffered a total party kill at the hands of the Waterwraith. Understandable.

What's less understandable is then rallying up 100 more Blue Pikmin, and jumping right back in for Round 2. Which was also a wholesale slaughter. Then I finally realized that when the ship says it's invincible, that means it's invincible.

The earliest characters I created for M.U.G.E.N were horribly cheap, and almost everyone hated them. Doesn't help that I was one massive Attention Whore with a Small Name, Big Ego when I made those things.

In fact that's how I found out about TV Tropes- my name appeared under Small Name, Big Ego (back then they allowed RL examples) when I googled it. Yes, that's how infamous I was because of my characters and attitude.

I got Shantae when it first came out—box, manual, and everything.

I either got rid of it because I couldn't beat the second dungeon ( the Nintendo Power walkthrough left off at the end of the first dungeon), or lost it.

I kick myself every day about it, and not just because it's super expensive now.

The Protomen enhanced my life.

I always play on Easy. Always. Well, except the times there's a Very Easy setting.

And when cheat codes are available, you can bet your ass I'm gonna abuse them.

I was terrified of Luigi's Mansion as a child. After finally garnering the courage and beating Lydia, I confidently moved on to the next room. I was then treated to a cutscene zooming in on the room followed by a loud cry.

I turned off the game in terror and didn't play it again for six months!

I was also terrified of Shivers, the ghost who carried the candle in Area 2. His candle would suddenly pop around the corner, and to get to the Music Room you had to walk past him.

I also didn't know that you needed to capture 30 Boos to get to Boolossus, so I walked up to the door. Then suddenly my Game Boy Horror started flashing red, and a Boo popped out of nowhere! So I left and made sure to get all 30 before going back! This time I muted the game, and cautiously approached the door.

And don't even get me started on the power outage!

I did finish the game a couple of years later, but even today, that game still creeps me out. And if I think about it too much at night I get on edge.

Man, just imagine if Shigeru Miyamoto actually went through with the plans to make it rated T.surprised

When I 1st played Super Mario 64 after my cousin had gotten enough stars...

I entered the 1st Bowser stage and beat it...without dying!

Then as soon as the game panned over to Bowser's horrificly ugly model, I immediately turned off , my N64. I hadn't played that version the game in over 5 years after that scare.

I thought the Ridley/Kraid head statue in Metroid: Zero Mission was actually a sleeping three-headed boss (there's a vaguely monkey-like face between them) that I had to awaken. Turns out it was just a tunnel.

According to one of my Strange Parts, in TF 2 I have taunted after killing over 550 times. I'm pretty sure I only taunted after kills three times at best before I got that Strange Part. Now it's standard practice, and a great way to get said victim out for my blood.

I wrote a nice encouraging quote to myself with signs on a desolate Pv P map in Minecraft, filled with about 20 people killing each other every minute on a daily basis, ground being pillaged and destroyed constantly.

I returned two years later to the now empty and nearly waste-landed server, and walked north until non-desolated land began to show. I found my old shack atop a mountain, still filled with stone tools, unfinished houses and farms. I was going through an era of nostalgia, revisiting the area and looking forward to seeing my monument.

It was replaced with "ur a faget"

I gave up on Crono Trigger, because I got declared guilty in the trial.

I learned how to touch type from entering cheat codes in Age of Mythology.

My first Pokémon game involved using a Nidoking to flatten everything until I got to the elite four, lost, and threw a tantrum about it.

My second gen attempt involved the exact same thing with a Typhlosion, until the eighth gym, where I traded my old Nidoking over again.

I found Shaq Fu enjoyable. Key term being found. It's still "cool" in a way, but it has terrible single player and mediocre gameplay at best. Characters were cool, though.

I didn't like Zelda when I was little, the dungeons were boring.

When the Rito Chieftain told me to stay put and watch over Prince Komali, I listened because I didn't want to do the first dungeon. tongue

Even when I eventually beat the first dungeon and realized the game had an amazing story, I still didn't like the dungeons.

I love them now mostly. But there are still are times when I just want to get to the boss.
