If being late for the second repair crusade is a given, so be it. The very fact of spending what little or big effort it took to compose that thing — indicates the degree of belief in the third one. In all kinds of the sense of the word "belief".

With all the fixing people have been doing hopeful there won't be a third time.
@Totemic Hero, last page: Regarding Laconic.Action Girl, I would use "A woman is just as tough and kicks just as much butt as the guys do."
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard Feynmannevermind

If no one has anything else to say about the Laconic, I'll go with Septimus's suggestion in a day or two, as it sounds reasonable enough.
Expergiscēre cras, medior quam hodie. (Awaken tomorrow, better than today.)"A woman who kicks just as much butt as the guys do." maybe
How will it work in works with little particular attention given to men fighting?
I would think those would mostly fall under World of Action Girls, unless I am missing something.
Expergiscēre cras, medior quam hodie. (Awaken tomorrow, better than today.)Which would mean a possibility of works playing World of Action Girls without having a single character qualifying as the Action Girl.
I think "A girl who kicks ass" is simple and clear enough for a Laconic.
Action Girl doesnt imply such a thing as 'a single girl qualifiying as the Action Girl of a work' anymore. 'The Action Girl' was intended to be covered by this YKTTW
Agree. Keep it as simple and broad as possible as a supertrope that can apply to multiple characters/archetypes in multiple works

Eponymous Saki kicks ass. At mahjong, but still. And by sifting Serious Business for mentions of any females-involving even remotely competitive activity it's easy to find more examples that will kick ass in their respective fields.
And for those who read the first paragraph itching to chime in about physicality or being personal or violence or a mixture thereof — a different example. In WORKING!!, there's a part-time waitress Mafuyu, a schoolgirl afraid of men, whose fear would manifest in hitting any unlucky male who got too close. She's very strong and can't control herself well, demonstrating it to the point of Running Gag (in other words, she gets to kick ass on a regular basis, involuntarily). To complicate things further, more details: she's a source of absolute terror for other male employees; a late introduction male character that practices martial arts can block her attacks effortlessly; the just-mentioned character is easily curb-stomped by one of afore-mentioned male employees (the latter does not block Mafuyu attacks out of concern he might physically hurt her).

Hmm. Well then. Just two more things, just in case. 1. Reality of things doesn't change no matter who says what. Keep doing what you think is right, forgive my condescending tone. 2. The previous post was saying that "ass-kicking" alone — leaves room for what looked to me like not Action Girl material, examples being the mentioned two characters.
No more opinions? We've got two different competing laconics here, so we really need more people to weigh in one way or the other. (There's a reason I held off on the move.)
Expergiscēre cras, medior quam hodie. (Awaken tomorrow, better than today.)"Girl who kicks ass" is just too broad, its gotta be "Girl who kicks ass at physical activities". The Saki example in above post is a good example of how the former does not work.
They have to kick ass at fighting, martial arts, guns, mecha combat, physical sports like football etc.

No, they don't. The trope is just Female Badass. With that in mind, we can't really limit the scope of the page.
I very much disagree, a girl who is just badass at say Hearthstone or Mahjong in a work should not be an Action Girl.
That's not fighting. Badass does not mean competent or cool, it means 'can fight.'

So wait. Does this mean that a "pure" Science Hero or Guile Hero is disqualified from being a Badass?
Yes. If you defeat all the enemies by solving logic puzzles you're awesome, but not a badass by tv tropes logic.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. Dickcan we just start the clean up already? all the arguments have been exhausted in the past 300 comments. We're talking in circles for everyone just hopping on.
I've starred this.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanWell, time to come back to this.
What exactly has been done so far? I can see some of the repair work has been done (thanks to Miin U), but I need to know what's left to do.
Expergiscēre cras, medior quam hodie. (Awaken tomorrow, better than today.)The description has already been changed to my knowledge. We just need to remove/flesh out ZCE and move good examples to the appropriate subtropes.
Crown Description:
Action Girl is filled with Zero Context Examples. The definition is bloated and nebulous.
You really need a better grasp of wiki conventions if you're going to dump that here. And of English, for that matter. We already had a crowner, and while opinions can theoretically change after a crowner has been held, the thread seems to be moving full speed ahead on the supertrope option, and that post certainly wasn't going to be changing anyone's mind.
