Let's see there's the town of Rye (8 miles away), there's San Isabel (18 miles) high up on the mountain, there's a whole lot of gulch and canyon land in most directions for the next 12 miles and if I'm quickety quick I can reach the city of Pueblo too at 20 miles.
All this in less than a day of walking.
In walking distance,I can reach Oakland, a huge canyon sitting park, UC Berkeley and the Downtown, a rock park, and the subway to get other places such as that city on the other side of the Bay
A ton of fast food restaurants at the bottom of the hill, many stores, and if I walked for a few hours, I could reach Pittsburgh. I live close to Pittsburgh.
ppppppppfeiufiofuiorjfadkfbnjkdflaosigjbkghuiafjkldjnbaghkdTwo friends' houses, work, and... not a lot else.
Plus, who wants to walk through 102 Fahrenheit weather? I certainly don't.
From my mom's: fairgrounds, a dog park, and downtown area.
My dad lives in a subdivision, so the only things within walking distance are houses and a boat landing.
I don’t even know anymore.More houses and a senior center.
Been There Done That. Still don't think it's as bad as walking in -10F.
A small lake is right by my house...other than that, not much else. I live about 2 or 3 miles away from town, and five from the nearest Subway restaurant.
"Lucian, don’t be afraid, we’ll make it through this."Well, it depends...I've walked to the next village over and into the nearby city before. Those are both within walking-without-getting-sore-feet distance.
The entirety of the village I live in is, obviously, within walking distance, as is an international airport. Within the village itself we have shops, pubs, a railway station, schools, a police station and a fire station (within sprinting distance in an emergency).
The river is really close by and a few small woods and what we refer to as 'the forest' are all pretty close by.
'All he needs is for somebody to throw handgrenades at him for the rest of his life...'Pretty much nowhere. I live at the back of a subdivision that's a few miles away from the nearest town.
Looking for some stories? What's a subdivision?
'All he needs is for somebody to throw handgrenades at him for the rest of his life...'A few other houses. Mailboxes. A field of sheep. Trees. Abandoned caravan. Some mysterious ruins. More sheep.
There's really not a lot of anything this far out. It's mostly just farms and trees.
Hard to explain and to express, forever just a work in progress (he/they)I live in a relatively busy area not far back from a highway with no sidewalks, so the safe answer should be "our mailbox". But if I feel like taking a 20-minute hike, I can get to our church in one direction or a strip mall containing a bar, liquor store, Mexican restaurant, and carryout pizza shop in the other. If I feel like crossing the highway, I can get to a strip mall that has a better Mexican restaurant, a Chinese restaurant, and used to have a bar, deli, and license branch, but those closed.
In yet another direction, the church that hosts our polling place, and in another, I could walk for almost an hour and get to my old elementary school.

Fresh-eyed movie blogEverywhere. It just depends on how long I'm willing to walk.
Within 20, minutes 3 real ale pubs.
By a quirk, when I changed jobs I now live closer to the main entrance than the main entrance is to my office - people think it's odd that I measured it on Google Earth.
My mailbox.
There are a lot of other things near me, but I'm not willing to walk to them. What are you, crazy?
"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."There's a leisure centre with a cinema, bowling alley, ice rink, and swimming pool as well as a few local shops.
Crazy maybe, lazy no. When you grow up as a country boy you quickly learn if you don't got a ride to somewhere you use those two feet you got and keep going til you get there even if it takes all day.
Paisley town centre, Linwood, Johnstone, Barrhead if I'm feeling ambitious, Neilston if I'm really feeling ambitious, and Glasgow if I'm running out of electricity, need to top up and really can't be arsed sitting in the dark til morning.
I was down your way the day before yesterday
'All he needs is for somebody to throw handgrenades at him for the rest of his life...'Within a mile I can get to a couple gas station/convenience stores, a dance studio, and an auction house. I go to the one convenience store quite often since it's super close and has good cheap snacks (and yeah sometimes I'll grab a beer or something too).
In 5-10 miles, one direction I can get to a couple churches, other direction I can get to a grocery store, a Papa John's pizza, a couple other places I can't remember off the top of my head, and my old school. Haven't actually walked to any of these though.
Stupid doomed timeline...Well depends comfortably I can reach other houses, the trail, and the cattle-gate near the trail so cows, it's basically a hill with some trees, the other way a restaurant. Further then that, and I don't know it in metres let alone miles (though miles are the equivalent of kilometers I guess), I can walk to the schools (both high and elementary), Subway, the grocery store, Fields, basically downtown, but that is quite the distance, especially since I live up on the hill.
Fields.
I'm not lazy. I have a foot condition. It's called "they hurt if I walk more than three meters." It's genetic. So, uh, yeah. Check your privilege. jerk.
"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."Almost the whole town, really.
It's a pretty small place.
i think i mostly want to see what happens when this whole place breaks apart
In your home what areas are within walking distance from where you live?
