[Interest Check/Signup]Trillion Dollar Studios--Two Roleplays In One!

Note: Following is copy-pasted from Looking for G Ms thread and edited a little. Don't worry, it is my idea.

Story

In the near future, a company called Trillion Dollar Studios pretty much has a monopoly on all forms of entertainment, which it achieved by playing the stock market to gain huge shares of all the companies, pretty much giving them the rights to everything. It decides to use these rights to make the largest Massive Multiplayer Crossover television show ever made, calling it the Ficverse. Their complete control pretty much gives them unlimited budget, so they go all out with live action, CGI, explosions, etc. As a gimmick to draw viewers, they advertise it as serious improv edited to look cohesive.

And Your Point Is?

The players play as actors, who portray the various fictional characters. The 'gimmick' of the roleplay is that it is split into two parts: The events of the show, with the actors playing their characters, and the events 'behind the scenes', with actors doing what famous people do in fiction—that is, compete and vie for power. These parts are separated by using italics for events of the show.

And that is enough copy-pasting, on to the rules.

Rules

• 1. The signup sheet is split into two parts, Actor/Actress and Character. Both of these must be filled out in full, obviously.
• 2. Your actor can play as any character from fiction, unless they are banned from fan work use by the author/company (the Terms of Service on fanfiction.net has a good list of the latter). You can also use an original character, if you are so inclined.
• 3. The actor, on the other hand, must be an original character. You can't play as Mark Hamill, for example.
• 4. As GM, I will specify certain periods when some actors are 'filming'. During these periods, those actors are in full character, and you roleplay the events of the show. As mentioned, these segments must be distinguished by italics.
• 5. As this is serious improv in-universe (ever heard of LAR Ping? think that), you can pretty much do what you wish within reason short of outright controlling the other characters. Both heroes and villains will be represented. I'll sort out settings and situations, but you can directly influence these decisions through your actions.
• 6. Characters cannot be world-shaking in power (Darth Vader and Superman are OK, people who can destroy planets by thinking about it are not). Actors must be complete mundanes (though they can think they have special powers—fame makes you insane...).
• 7. Humans and rubber suit aliens are preferable for characters, since the show is considered live action, but other species are allowed. Again, all actors are human.
• 8. The first episode will introduce the plot and throw the characters together and such, so don't sweat other the story of the show starting out.
• 9. Have fun! They're actors, ham it up!

• Appearance: Can be radically different from the actor thanks to CGI and makeup!

• Powers/Abilities: The fun part! Remember the rules, and also remember that they don't have to be supernatural—it could be something like courage or fortitude.

• Name: Quincy Peterson

• Gender: Male
• Appearance: Quincy is a fair-skinned nondescript fellow who looks to be in his thirties, but is actually younger. He has a slicked back short hairstyle, and, when not on set, prefers to wear a three-piece suit.
• Personality: Quincy is level-headed and calm at all times, and can take a joke. He is, however, quick to anger if you mention the fact that he needs to wear eye makeup on the set.
• Strengths: Quincy is brilliant at scenery-chewing and general hammitude, and is also apt in drama.
• Weaknesses: He can't do comedy to save his life, unless it's intentional Narm or comical seriousness.
• Background: He started his acting career with various Stoner Flicks and other sorts of comedies. It didn't really pan out for him, so he decided to take up more dramatic roles; he did a great job, earning him a good-sized fanbase.
• A Quote: "Why, yes, I can act angry. But I'm not acting right now."

Character:

• Franchise: DC's Batman

• Appearance: As Bruce, he looks much the same as Quincy. As his Batman persona, he wears a gray, futuristic form of the iconic Batsuit, with the utility belt and the mask.
• Personality: Bruce is rather serious much of the time.
• Powers/Abilities: Batman is a Badass Normal who carries various tools of deception and nonlethal incapacitation while on the job; smoke grenades, flashbangs, stun grenades, the Batarang, grappling hook, and this version carries a stun gun. He's versed in stealth, unarmed combat, and scare tactics.
• Signature Prop(s): See above.
• Background: Bruce's parents were mugged and killed, so he became a crimefighter in hopes of finding his parents' murderer and exacting revenge.

• Weaknesses:He is rather bad at doing romantic scenes,sometimes bordering on narmish even when he trys to make them serious.
• Background:He beginned his acting career in many action films,from being the simple mook many times in many films,to the supporting protagonist of the hero many times until he got the chance to be in the role of the villain by accepting a role in the new show by trillion dollar studios.

• Personality:Zed is a ninja who despises balance and the traditions the kinkou order follows,and cares only for power and dominance of the order of the shadow against the Kinkou order.and expected from a ninja,he can be stoic and emotionless in combat,though interestingly he seems to care and respect his students who follow the path of the shadows. he also has a hatred of his enemys from the Triumvirate of the kinkou order,especially he has a burning hatred for Shen.

  • Superhuman agility and speed.
  • Razor shuriken:Zed and his shadow both throw their Shurikens forward,damaging any target they pass through and his living shadow returning it to him after it reaches a certain distance.
  • Living shadows:Zed is able to send at least two shadows to stand in a position for four seconds,the shadows are able to imitate his shadow slash and razor shurikens,able to hit enemys and Zed is able to swap positions with his shadows.
  • Shadow slash:Zed and his shadows spins their blades in a circle,creating a burst of shadow energy that damages any target close to Zed or his shadows.
  • Death Mark:Zed leaves a shadow behind the position he was and dashes to a target,attempting to mark them for death.after 3 seconds,the mark detonates,and damages the target,the severity of the damage the target received depending on how much damage the target received by Zed,so if the target can be able to stun Zed before he can deal any damage,the damage will be barely minor.any healing effects or things that can remove a dangerous effect can remove the death mark from the target.

• Background:Zed is the first ninja in 200 years to unlock the ancient, forbidden ways. He defied his clan and master, casting off the balance and discipline that had shackled him all his life. Zed now offers power to those who embrace knowledge of the shadows, and slays those who cling to ignorance.
  • An orphan, Zed was taken in and trained by a great ninja master. Only one other student appeared to be Zed's equal - the master's son, Shen. It seemed Zed could never win the favor of the master, as every match between the rivals ended in a draw. Frustrated and jealous, he sought an advantage. The young ninja ventured into a sealed part of the clan's temple, where he found an ornate, foreboding box. Sensing the dark knowledge within, Zed knew he should not open it, but he peered inside nonetheless. In an instant, shadows touched his mind, revealing techniques that had long been hidden. Now armed with a secret edge, he challenged Shen, and this time he defeated the master's son. He expected praise and recognition in his moment of victory, but somehow the master knew Zed had used forbidden ways, and banished him.

  • Humiliated, the young ninja wandered for years. His bitterness turned to ambition, and he began to train others in the style of the shadows. As his power grew, so did his circle of followers, but he knew that without the box, his technique would never be perfect. One day, Zed looked at his followers and saw that his students were now an army. He led them back to the temple to claim his prize. That day, the old ninja order fell. Though many students died, some escaped thanks to Shen's heroic efforts. Now the temple is a dark training ground for the Order of the Shadow. Zed rules as the Order's master, and his edict is simple: perfect one's technique, and kill all ninjas who refuse to embrace the shadows.

Actor:

• Name: Shin Kendrick
• Age: 21
• Gender: Male
• Appearance: Shin is fairly youthful looking, only being 5 ft tall, and looks quite typically Japanese. He has dark brown hair which is carefully styled with a side-swept fringe. When not in costume he tends to dress very casually.
• Personality: Shin is a fairly enthusiastic and happy person but seems slightly out of touch with reality, preferring to ignore important matters beyond his work.
• Strengths: Shin is skilled as expressing strong emotions, especially through dialogue and more over-the-top moments. He also does all of his own stunts.
• Weaknesses: He is basically incapable of subtlety or nuance.
• Background: Shin was born into a family with a tradition of classical acting, his Welsh father and Japanese mother both specialising in traditional theatre from the home countries, and as a child played various theatre roles. However, as he grew up, he became bored of the limitations of theatre and transitioned into films and television, normally playing more outlandish characters.

• Name: Katsu Hongo (Hongo Katsu in Japanese order) / Kamen Rider Terra Firma
• Franchise: OC Kamen Rider
• Alignment: Hero

• Species: Human
• Appearance: As Katsu, he's the same as Shin. As Terra Firma, he's encased in a suit of futuristic armour◊.
• Personality: Katsu is a fiercely optimistic and idealistic person who believes that peace is always achievable. He attempts to help people with whatever their problems are, thinking that it is duty to improve the world. He prefers diplomacy but accepts that violence is necessary sometimes.
• Powers/Abilities: When he uses the Gaia Driver (the belt seen on his armoured form) he can summon a suit of armour◊ which enhances his strength. The suit can also patch into communications networks and has an in-built speech translator. Using the Gaia Driver, he can summon several different weapons, although only one at at time:
  • Desert Smasher:◊ A large hammer capable of dealing massive damage.
  • Forest Blade:◊ a long blade which can cut through most mundane materials with enough force.
  • Ice Barrier:◊ A durable shield which can also be thrown.
  • Aquatic Shot:◊ A large cannon that can fire a high-pressure stream of water.
  • He can also summon the Gaia Motor, a blue and green motorbike which can transform into a flying form.
• Signature Prop(s): The Gaia Driver and the armour it summons
• Background: The son of a major diplomat and a technological genius, Katsu discovered a secret project his parents worked on to create a suit of power armour for international peacekeeping and defence. When the facility was attacked, he activated the armour and it locked to his genetics. From that point, he became Kamen Rider Terra Firma and now travels the world saving people.
• A Quote: "Earth is in constant danger. But I, as a Kamen Rider, am here to save it!"

Actor

• Name: Jerome Hughes
• Age: 35
• Appearance: About 6'5, with a slightly barrel like chest, but he's a bit pudgy around the middle. He prefers comfort to style, and is usually in a hoody and blue jeans when he's not on set. Has a bushy beard that people keep having to remind him to keep in check. His default expression looks a bit frustrated and aggressive, but it's no indicator of his actual mood most of the time.
• Personality: Introverted and contemplative, which loans to his 'frustrated' expression. He's open to conversation, more likely than not, but prefers to keep things short and to the point. If he notices a reoccurring problem in-between his fellow actors, he'll try to help out, but rarely in the heat of an argument. He'd rather take the time to talk to them when they're both apart. He has a religious side to him, which can make him uncomfortable with aspects of certain roles, but doesn't need too much convincing to go through with it if he can disassociate. He's slow to anger, but expresses it in explosions due to his tendency to repress emotions until the breaking point.
• Strengths: Has a very fine grasp of how people hold a conversation, allowing him to engage in dialogue in an organic and pleasing way. He also takes plenty of time to understand his characters, like how their place-of-origin might affect their attitude or speech patterns, how mental illnesses may effect behavior, or how an older character might handle a specific situation differently than a younger one. He's also physically strong, though he rarely emphasizes that in his roles. A strong bass speaking voice with good projection, compared occasionally to James Earl Jones.
• Weaknesses; He's still somewhat uncomfortable with scenes that are extensively violent and/or sexual in nature, struggling against his own conservative mannerisms (this doesn't necessarily extend to surgical work). Not extensively trained in martial arts, and a little low on stamina. To his annoyance, he can't seem to hold a note for very long.
• Background: Hailing from Pittsburgh, Jerome only pursued his love of acting after financial problems made medical school fell through. His intellectual commitment to characterization and natural affability soon snagged him a wealth of supporting and lead roles in stage dramas. His big break on the silver screen, oddly enough, was in one of his least favorite lead roles. He played a medieval torturer who'd who'd eventually gave up the work for a life in the monastery. After around an hour of the most heinous procedures to ever splatter onto movie screen, of course. The movie could've done better, much better, but his efforts to turn that exploitive meatgrinder of a film into a philosophical period piece had earned him something of a cult-following, and had not gone unnoticed by Trillion Dollar Studios. The poor bastard probably thinks he's done with the nastiness.
• Quote: "I'll to what I can to be diverse, but I didn't trade in scrubs for a clown costume. Can we tone it down just a little?"

Character

• Name: Dr.Nathan Grell
• Franchise: OC
• Alignment: Neutral(ish)
• Gender: Male
• Age: 52
• Species: Cybernetically Enhanced Human
• Appearance: Not remarkably different than Jerome himself, save for the outfit. It's a more compact, form fitting hazmat suit, with an opaque, orange-brown glass dome obscuring of his face and scalp. Illuminated, cybernetic looking eyes are about the only thing you'd notice. The mouth piece of a gas mask is fitted just over his mouth. There are some other appliances, like motorized, limb like braces and blade laden mechanical gloves and such, but the suit is the only constant. When the character is on the down-low, Jerome's allowed his casual wear, maybe with a set of sunglasses or something else to cover his face. Some makeup is applied beforehand to give Jerome a more aged look.
• Personality: Inquisitive, mild-mannered (mostly), methodical, and utterly uncaring about society's laws or ethical codes. To him, the only important thing in life is to enhance humanity, to discover ever more ways of modifying our unimpressive frames into the envy of they very gods themselves, should they exist. Anyone who stands in the way of that progress, in his eyes, is only doing so because they have investment in enforcing the status quo, whether it be power or money. Those people are best circumvented, but he's more than capable to disposing them, should their threat to his work continue. He's somewhat willing to play the long game, in that he'll sell his talents to the highest bidder to fund his pet projects. But only on the condition that he works with his clients, and not for them. He has a soft spot for dogs, with them being among the only creatures that he'll nurse back to health semi-normally.
• Powers/Abilities: First and foremost, Nathan's most valuable asset is his vast intellect.
  • Master Surgeon: Has an encyclopedic knowledge of human anatomy, and capable of preforming highly advanced medical producers on most every part of the human body, from the safe removal of brain tumors to facial reconstruction. If given sufficient time (up to a week) with an alien or mutant specimen, he can gain an advanced intuition of how their bodies work, as well. With the assistance of motorized limbs that interface with his central nervous system, he can preform multiple surgical procedures at the same time with minimal damage to his focus. Should he be forced into a fight, Nathan WILL put his knowledge and handiness with surgical implements to good use, attacking important arteries, nerve clusters, muscle groups, and organs with lethal precision and speed. BONESAAWW IS REAAD-sorry.
  • Pharmacist: Though his skill as a surgeon is superior, Nathan isn't beyond synthesizing his own medicines. Or narcotics. Or super-steroids Or toxins, or mutagenic agents. He's liberal with his meds, is what I'm saying.
  • Genetic Engineer: Under his careful supervision, Jerome can produce different traits within an organism ranging from 'mild' (changing eye/hair color, skin that glows in response to certain stimuli, improvement of olfactory senses), to extreme (introducing new senses like the ability to perceive electromagnetic fields, lungs that can breath in different atmospheres, muscular and bone reconfiguration, and even metahuman abilities, IF they're rooted in the original metahuman's genetic coding.) As a rule, the more extreme the mutation, the longer it's going to take to set in, or should I say, set in safely. Sometime a mad scientist needs a mutant in a pinch, though there's always the risk of the subject suffering from massive organ failure or a fever of 150 degrees.
  • Clone-Master: Careful with your DNA around this one. With the right amount of mass, he can produce a fully matured clone of a target in no time, though educating them to preform complex tasks can be difficult, and he hasn't quite gotten down the 'make them live longer than a few months before biodegrading all over the carpet' problem.
  • Robotics: This is perhaps his weakest area in that Nathan focuses on making various (and often weaponized) prosthetics than androids and the like. At this point, most attempts to interface complex machinery with a human brain is going to end up with a heavily....stunted....patient. But the good doctor is nothing, if not resourceful.
• Signature Prop:
  • Syringe Gun: Can silently deliver a concentrated dose whatever nasty concoction Nathan's cooked up at a range similar to a tranquilizer gun's.
  • Bonesaw, "A medical saw that can vibrate in short burst to more easily divide flesh and bone
  • Scalpel: Monomolecular and durable. Can dig deep grooves into concrete with minimal force, and be loaded with toxins.
  • Suit: A form of light power-armor. Allows him to ascertain medical information from soft tissue samples via user interface on helmet. Keeps track of his vitals, and administers various medicines to stabilize wounds to his person. Shields him from harmful atmospheres and radiation. It's one defense mechanism is a barrage of disorienting lights from in-between the layers of the dome helmet; this can cause nausea and vomiting with prolonged visual contact. Unfortunately, for the time it's active, Nathan cannot see outside of the helmet, though doesn't suffer the nausea of exposure.
  • Mechanical Arms: A brace that fits onto his back, allowing him to control four independent robotic arms that can be fitted with a variety of medical equipment and even firearms.
  • First-Aid Kit: In the form of a backpack. Because sometimes he actually has to heal people. Comes in six looped version to accommodate the robotic brace.
  • Chem Grenades: Releases a cloud of a highly irritating, caustic agent that inflicts nerve damage upon inhaling. More of an incapacitating tool than a killing tool.
  • Handgun: Sometimes theme has to give in to practicality. Well concealed.
• Background: There was a time where Nathan Grell's name brought a sigh of relief to a room full of otherwise despairing people. The bulk of his talents were learned as one of the world's foremost Surgeons, and as a pioneer in the art of gene therapy. But even then he struggled with urges and dreams so insane, so macabre that he couldn't bring himself to admit it to anyone. If the word got out, not even a man on death's door would trust his life to him. The story's been told a million times before the year 2154, and it'll be told a million times after; with time, and the ever rising pressure to preform and top his last feat in medicine, he snapped. With some stolen medical equipment, horrifically disfigured patients at the hospital door, and an demented manifesto stating his new life intent, Nathan Grell started on the path to infamy.
• Quote: "Quit squirming. The screaming I can understand, all I had on hand was the localized anesthetic, but the squirming is going to make it worse."

• Actor/Actress
• Name: Quincy Adams
• Age: 66
• Gender: Male
• Appearance: Tall and somewhat portly. He has a big, white bushy beard and a thick, white pony-tail. He dresses in black business pants and a black sweater, and wears black sunglasses over his eyes.
• Personality: At heart, Quint is a theater man, and an old one, which means he doesn't always mesh well with the ways of the set. In his old age, he's somewhat dismissive and disrespectful of those younger and less experienced then him, thinking that the young these days don't really know how to act; that they have it too easy. He's also argumentative, hot-tempered, impatient, and extremely liberal.
  • That is, when he's not method-acting. Quint is a method actor of the highest order, to the point where he can stay in character in and out of set days at a time, and does his best to replicate the situations that the character would have to go through on a daily basis. That doesn't mean he never breaks out of character, but it can cause problems with his less devoted fellow actors...
• Strengths: As stated, Quint is a master of method acting, though that can often prove rather detrimental to his social life.
• Weaknesses: If there's one weakness Quint has, it's that he doesn't always know the art of subtlety. As an experienced stage actor, Quint is used to acting over the top, so that the audience members in the back-seats can better see and understand what's happening on the stage. Unfortunately, that doesn't always translate well onto the set, and can even be seen as overacting. He also doesn't do too well with quiet scenes, as he's used to actually doing something rather than just standing around. This is reinforced by the fact that on the stage, the breaks between lines of dialogue aren't as long as they can be on film, due to having to keep the live audiences' attention.
• Background: Quincy had been an actor since he was but a boy, as one of the members of the school band in The Music Man. However, he stuck around in the theater, and his skills improved as he grew. By the time he was 22, he was playing none other than Hamlet himself; critics of the day hailed his performance as one of the best Hamlet's they had ever seen.
  • However, time had not been good to Quincy. He never really ventured outside of the stage. On the one hand, this meant that his career as a 'serious', great actor had been left virtually intact. On the other hand, this also meant that he had neither the fame nor fortune of the biggest filmstars. In the past, this hadn't mattered to him in the slightest, but now, he wondered if he had truly made the right choice in staying in the theater all of his life. To that end, he decided to use the last years of life to branch out; perhaps gain some larger sense of notoriety before he passed on.
  • In the end, he managed to land an A-list part in the Ficverse, but it was when he was presented with his would-be role that he started to have doubts. Who would he be playing? Why, none other than one of the most magnificent large hams in film history; Emperor Palpatine. Oh, Quincy had seen the films once or twice, but he had always thought of them as unintelligent schlock for the unintelligent masses. Still, if this was what it took to broaden his career, he would it take it; even if such an act would mean losing his ever-treasured sense of dignity...
• A Quote: "I don't have to stand for this; I'm a fucking classical actor, you fucking ingrates!"

• Character
• Name: Emperor Palpatine
• Franchise: Star Wars
• Alignment: Villain
• Age: Early 90's, with the aid of make-up to make Quintin, already an old man, look absolutely ancient.
• Gender: Male
• Species: Human
• Appearance: An old, withered, decrepit man in a black cloak.
• Personality: Cold, calculating, manipulating, and yet, within those restraints, a Large Ham of the highest order, and pure evil.
• Powers/Abilities: The force, of course. This includes telepathy, telekinesis, and the ability to shoot lighting out of his fingertips.
• Signature Prop(s): Lightsaber.
• Background: Palpatine is the Emperor of the Federation, dedicated to crushing the resistance and ensuring what he sees as order among the cosmos. (Which happens to resemble fascism, but different strokes for different folks. In addition, Quincy has imagined a full backstory for his character. The whole thing would likely go up to 10 pages long, but here's the cliffnotes. Born an impoverished child on Tatooine, Palpatine swore that he would never go hungry again! To that end, he eventually became a well established, if somewhat corrupt chancellor before he set his eyes upon the force. In time, he became a fearsome dark jedi, and the ruler of the great Empire that Luke and co. would strive to defeat.

Actor/Actress

• Name: Jamie Cole
• Age: 22
• Gender:female
• Appearance: 5'6 Caucasian with dyed blonde unkempt short hair, likely to wear jersey that is slightly larger than her size, baggy jeans and a pair of Fallen Footwear.
• Personality: Can be funny and energetic at times but when she's tired or serious, she'd rather be sober and sarcastic.
• Strengths: Great with long, running sentences, refuging in the survivor camp of audacity and good at imitating high to high average pitched male voices
• Weaknesses: Romantic scenes or scenes that requires her to be serious in general.

  • She grew up in Compton, known for being the most gangster town USA has ever seen, born to single mother who worked as a whore. Jamie remembered the day that her mother told her to be like the boys "because you gon get trap in here like me if you dress like ho! Make friends with the right [N-word]! Go Ballin! Go hard on them because the moment you go soft they gonna go down on you like a motherfucking bitch!" right before she drop Jamie off to her first day in elementary school. Over the years, Jamie carefully make herself be like the boys by being rowdy, unapologetic and unsexy, there she also developed a sense of humor and taking an interest to go into stand up comedies.
  • Jamie dropped out of school at the age of 14 to do gang activities, when she reached 18, when her mother died in a crossfire between her gang and a rival gang, she decided that the gangster life is too hard for her and go for acting school. Right after she graduated she joined a comedy show called 'Sunday Morning Reruns' where she initially played a bitchy white girl in her first couple of skits but have not found any success with the character, so she requested to play as a legendary Dave Chappelle's character Tyrone Biggums using the new cutting edge CGI to make her African American, putting in her own twist on a classic comedy character. Every skit she did afterwards is a smash hit, making her famous and eventually, she was contracted by the Trillion Dollar Studios to play as Tyrone Biggums as a sort of comic relief in the movie.

• Alignment: Morally ambigious, the only reason he joined the villians is because they offer rewards, which he interpret it as crack. He'll joined the hero when they offered something much larger than that.
• Age: He's on crack, he probably does not remember the last time he can even control his piss, you expect him to remember how old he is?
• Gender: Male
• Species: Human
• Appearance: refer to Tyrone Biggums link above.
• Personality: Wacky, high all the time, unapologetic and raunchy, and he always wants money for crack.
• Powers/Abilities: Be perpetually high all the time, sprinkle crack on a dead person to make it look like another case of drug overdose, managed to not only endure standing on a bed of hot coals but his toenail could catch on fire and just would not care, can do gross things willingly like eating fat maggots, somehow finding money to buy crack and somehow still be alive after all the times he'd be crackheading.

Tyrone would be dead before he could even feel his legs being cut off, is what I'm saying.

He aint gonna be dead, he just experiencing a whole load of europhoria equaling to ten fedoras from the crack, then woke up in the back of an alley good as new, just add crack.

How does getting shot with lightning from sharp fingertips and then getting telekinetically thrown down an elevator shaft not qualify as dead?
