One more thing before I forget, I thought of a caption that (hopefully) isn't as Narmy as the last one should my suggestion win: "She might as well be a Super Saiyan."

I'm not liking this as much. Mojo and his broken helmet dominate the image. Plus, I rather see the girls do something badass and look good doing it and not the aftermath. This feels like some kind of animal brutality to someone who never watched it.

Well, this one crashed and burned...tempted to go ahead and lock it as inconclusive since it's been more than a week, but I'll give it another day or two to see what happens.

Well, can we at least pull the image from the Anime and Manga subpage for the reasons I explained here?

I see that the image is already up and there was no more discussion (plus the crowner was left open and still supports the pic that was added to BadassAdorable.Anime And Manga).

I'm having a hard time believing the current crowner standings, especially since nobody is really discussing their votes. This is a concern to me because it seems like people are voting based on popularity/familiarity of the source material rather than how well the picture demonstrates the trope.

We can all agree that the character in the picture picture should...

1. be pictured in the act of doing something Badass.

2. while still maintaining a cute appearance at the same time.

The major problem I have with the Queen's Blade picture is that there's no real context of a threat and/or danger. She's just posing to look cool as far as I know. Contrast this with the Reepicheep one◊ from earlier since he is clearly ready for a fight and looks competent at doing so, especially when you consider his pose towards the viewer.

I'm not sure how much sense this makes to any of you, but I think the philosophy of Image Pickin got ignored somewhere down the line when it came to the voting here.

I'm actually surprised at how the voting on this went, myself.

Well personally I voted for Queen's Blade because it took me a while to figure out what the Pretty Cure one was showing. The QB one is a cute girl in a badass pose which is better than a pic that isn't immediately obvious. That said nether are great.

And I'm surprised too, but disappointingly so.

Being badass is more than having a big weapon and a cool pose though. I would personally like to see some action and/or tension. On another note, subtlety does not automatically make an image worse. To quote the tip at Just a Face and a Caption under Not Actually JAFAAC:

—> "Contains visual elements that explain the trope, but they may be subtle"

People like what they like and thoughtful arguments often don't make a difference.

This discussion is meant to bring objective, consensual, agreement. I understand that people like what they like, but this is not supposed to be a popularity contest.

Clearer in image quality, or subject matter? The latter is more important by the way.

Absolutely true of the thread, arguably not true of the crowner. Good arguments often try to avoid subjectivity completely, but an individual vote might be determined by nothing but subjective opinion. (And that's fine IMO.)

Votes always tend towards being a popularity contest and the thread before the vote is an opportunity to try and influence it away from that.

I don't. I know cute is a very subjective term, but that is more sinister than cute by any stretch of the imagination.

They both look fine to me, both characters hit multiple traditional indicators of cuteness, one is obviously attacking something and the other has a huge-ass axe. I could go with either, honestly.

I'm voting on both. I'm happy either way. Relatively speaking, as neither is great.

Okay, this is way past the point of needing something done. The crowner's clear; calling it and tagging the page accordingly.

Giving this a bump. I vote to replace the pic of Yoda on the film page with the Reepicheep suggestion◊ made earlier...so much better than Yoda.

Also, someone added Rocket Raccoon to that subpage...oy.

Something wrong with that raccoon (other than the Example Indentation)? Never heard of it.

Anyway, I agree with the suggestion to replace Yoda.
