I have never heard the term "hating on" used in that way ever.
"They say I'm old fashioned, and live in the past, but sometimes I think progress progresses too fast."We used it that way all the time back in my day, whippersnapper.
Stuff what I do.I know people who were there back in the day. They never used it that way either.
"They say I'm old fashioned, and live in the past, but sometimes I think progress progresses too fast."Seriously? Haven't you ever heard, like, "I hate Mondays" or "I hate those shoes of yours"?
Oh, now I get it...
"They say I'm old fashioned, and live in the past, but sometimes I think progress progresses too fast."Or, "You been drinkin' the Hateorade!"
OK... maybe that.

"They say I'm old fashioned, and live in the past, but sometimes I think progress progresses too fast."You know what else is a worrying pattern with Hartman? It's not just the hero actually being friends with someone rich/popular, there's also the fact that all of these sunken ships are, well...
Can you guess what Trixie, Valerie and Paulina all have in common?
Of course, don't you know anything about ALCHEMY?!- Twin clones of Ivan the GreatYou might have something, but then again, probably you don't.
Again - how much of this is just speculation fueled by hatred or dislike of the man or his shows?

"They say I'm old fashioned, and live in the past, but sometimes I think progress progresses too fast."I've acknowledged before that I might be reading too much into it, but the fact is, the fanships he hates the most are all mixed-race.
Of course, don't you know anything about ALCHEMY?!- Twin clones of Ivan the GreatI'm kinda certain you might be reading too much into it.
There weren't many other women in either show who were eligible... let's face it, either they were related to the main characters, adults, or in the case of Veronica, insane.
"They say I'm old fashioned, and live in the past, but sometimes I think progress progresses too fast."Well, not for nothing, I'd imagine he's probably seen criticism of him doing that somewhere (I know this isn't the first time I've seen someone bring that up), and it's an issue he can solve easily by simply not destroying mixed-race couples in future works.
(SIDE NOTE: Do people really think Trixie is Asian? Why? Is it because her last name is "Tang"? I thought that was just something there to make the name have some flow to its sound.)
Insert witty 'n clever quip here. And her appearance...
"They say I'm old fashioned, and live in the past, but sometimes I think progress progresses too fast."Butch Hartman confirmed Trixie was Asian a long time ago.
Butch Hartman gets hate?
Can we please get back on topic and not turn this into a "I hate Butch Hartman" thread?

I wouldn't get your hopes up.
On my wave, passing oooooooon'Finding patterns' as an invitation is actually something that leans more towards the negative interpretations, since most really good authors are varied enough to avoid falling into predictable ruts, or at least that's how their fans see it. I'm not saying this is a complain thread, far from it, but while it leans itself towards the disapproval and approval interpretations, moreso towards the former IMHO.
Mike Di Martino and Bryan Konietzko just love piling on Daddy Issues. Hakoda and Tenzin are practically the only fathers that aren't freaking terrible....even Aang turned out to have issues.
Luminous beings are we, not this crude matterYes, Very Melon, Butch Hartman gets some hate, some to most which is justified.
Agreed. This board was set up to talk about trademarks of certain creators and show runners of Western-produced animated TV series, not to be a hate thread. It would be very annoying to people to complain in this thread.

"You can run, but you can't hide from the Buzzinator!"Does it matter if cartoon characters of different races don't look hugely different? I mean, most cartoons used simplified styles where there is no need for that. (That's what I don't get about the Ambiguously Brown trope, actually.)
I think names like "Tang", "Chandra", "Tran", "Abdul" etc make things fairly clear.
It was in her eyes. They were obviously Asian.
"They say I'm old fashioned, and live in the past, but sometimes I think progress progresses too fast."Seth Mac Farlane has a terrible and half-assed animation style.
Let's compare season 1 of The Flintstones to his cartoons. The Flintstones has Limited Animation and a low budget, but at least it has good construction and great character design (courtesy of Ed Benedict). The Flintstones proves that you don't need a high budget to have good art. Family Guy on the other hand has a really high budget (about $2 million) and yet it looks like a five-year old drew it. Sadly, most of the artists working on Family Guy are actually really good artists. It's the Executive Meddling that's forcing the talented animators and artists to draw stiff and conservative.
I don't "hate" Butch Hartman. Nor do I think he necessarily hates pretty girls. I was using "hating on" in the colloquial sense. He tends to portray glamorous girls very negatively, and a large part of the negativity is embedded in the fact that they don't return the dorky hero's crush.
Stuff what I do.
