[up]No, that's in fact quite new. And troubling.

[up][up]Yeah, killing an enemy player nets one whole point. Holding bases, much like Battlefield, gives an ongoing point tick, and killing AI superbosses (that will probably kill you) are worth a metric fuckton of points.

But can we alter the base environment? That is all I've ever wanted from Forge.

"Why is my bed full of grenades?"

He's baaaaaack! Everyone's favorite crazy-talking, conspiracy theorist lunatic hacker is in the (safe) house!

The mental image of Mshak Moradi running about cartoonishly before plowing into a wall and knocking himself out is hilarious!

Now we just need to find out if Blue Cube is gonna die.

Sorta surprised that Maya is insisting on lugging around BB even though she could've left him in the house to blow up. He's a danger to their escape and seeing as ONI was already doing "shoot on sight", there's not much worse he could leak.

Oh hey, the one time that Jackals aren't pathetic pushovers because now they're the tall guys.

Remember that animated series thing we mentioned a while back?

John sounds really weird narrating like that.

But it looks nicer than I expected. It's not all static Flash models with only rotating limbs like the first animated Terminals.

More Narm than I'd care for.

I'll certainly watch it though.

I must admit the sight of that dead trainee with the aneurysm nose-bleed was rather disquieting.

[up] I think it was John's flash clone. Listen I'm all for the Chief speaking outside of cutscenes and for exploring his character. But having him narrate, that just seems a bit much.

I'd have to agree. Chief is just not a narrator type. Narrators need to be talkative, charismatic and energetic, Chief is none of those. He's curt and to the point.

I'm finding his "Heroes are not born, they're made" quote pretty funny considering The Fall of Reach backcover has "Heroes are not born, they are willed into existence." Neither of them sound all that relieving.

Yep good. UNSC Took a Level in Badass post-war with their ground designs too.

But might I ask, can the Scorpion please get its coaxial gun back? I know in Halo 2 it was piddly but it was something.

Also, are we gonna be able to fly any UNSC aircraft this time around? Like a return of the Hornet? I really liked that one.

[up]I think the coaxial gun got axed for balance reasons. Tank's less powerful if it requires 2 people to operate at full potential.

I'm hoping UNSC flyers are in. That's clearly not a comprehensive list (no Mantis), so it's possible there's still some tucked away somewhere.

The Hornet in Halo 2 Anniversary Multiplayer is a good sign it will be in Halo 5, why create an anachronic vehicle with a different control scheme for a remake that is designed heavily to advertise the next installment? The gungoose is officially confirmed, although I definitely perked up when I saw that variant apparently fires grenades.

And the Hornet's a lot better of an idea than other UNSC stuff. The "Warthog of the skies" the Falcon kinda sucked. Couldn't dodge shit, couldn't kill shit without gunners in multiplayer. (And wasn't that hot in single player with the gun.)

Plus you can make it fit a theme. Banshee is the Jack of All Trades that plays like a plane. Hornet has lots of firepower in its machine guns and rockets perhaps the fastest kill power of everything but is flimsy to everything and plays like an attack heli. Phaeton plays like a gunship hybrid and has some decent firepower and the best protection but is slow as fuck.

Now if Warzone maps are as big as advertised you could throw in all the vehicles including pilotable Pelicans and Phantoms.

The grenade launcher variant you could use in the New Alexandria mission was pretty cool. The problem was largely taking away the pilot controlled gun in multiplayer. You at least had unpredictable ground speed and could splatter players with the Warthog. Without any gunners you were at a huge disadvantage with the Falcon. Plus if you do have gunners, that makes for an easy triple kill if someone finds a rocket launcher or makes a skill shot grenade toss.

Playable Pelicans in Warzone would just be too much. Their primary design is as troop transport with anti-vehicle ordinance. Piloting it you would not have a clear view of the ground, you would have to rely on side gunners to rack up the kills making it identical to the Falcon. Not to mention it would be a huge embarrassment to get vehicle jacked.

Pelicans could have weapons too. Or be unable to hijack. Or could be a mobile spawn point. Of course given from what we saw of Raid on Apex in that video not long ago, the biggest argument against multiplayer Pelican/Phantom? The terrain itself. Lots of hard(er) to reach places that would be way too dangerous or cramped for Pelicans/Phantoms to fly into.
