Does Not Illustrate: Boyish Short Hair

I think a character that's supposed to look boyish shouldn't be wearing something that's so tight and revealing. Even if the picture is acceptable the caption is calling her feminine when the point is that she's decidedly less feminine.

She look like an Action Girl which is a perfectly valid form of boyish.

Just change the caption.

It's not bad, but this◊ is a good contender as well.

I do love Tasha but Worf is right there looking much too hilarious.

He can always be cropped out.

Well if hilarious Worf goes then Tasha is perfect.

I prefer the current because she has a weapon in her hand. The fact that Lt. Yar is an Action Girl is not apparent in that image.

I changed my mind, the fact that she's wearing a quasi-military-looking uniform is pretty good. Here:

It's an improvement.

Even better would be an image that says "[b]ecause Long Hair Is Feminine, when a girl has short hair it tends to mean she's decidedly less feminine than the average girl, perhaps even a Tomboy or Action Girl" more clearly.

San would be a good option as well...undecided on Calhoun.

I like Calhoun in 11. In 8 her hair looks too neat like Power Hair. There's also Gwen◊.

That doesn't look short or boyish enough to be "boyish short hair."

Agreed...and now that I've thought about it, I'm backing off the for San, since her hair's about the same length.

Sifted through the examples list: Shina◊ from Bloody Roar and King (1◊ 2◊) from King of Fighters look like good contenders.

The first and third are good...the second works but not quite as well as the third for me.

I like the first one best.

I still like 8 better.

I still think 8 brings Power Hair to mind.

How is this◊? I found it with a GIS search for "tomboy". It's from a french film called Tomboy. She may look a little too boyish but I think the pic could be a good for image links if not chosen.
