Might we turn Ravens and Crows into an index for tropes related to said birds?
In addition to the new tropes, we would also have Idiot Crow.
Another option is to make it a redirect to Corvid Tropes and include the Magpie trope whose new name escapes me at the moment but that we've also repaired recently (or are still working on).
Catbert, I like your second suggestion. We could make Corvid Tropes very inclusive (eg, containing raven and crow tropes, as well as Thieving Magpie and Magpies as Portents).
Update: I plan in launching Creepy Crows sometime next weekend. All the relevant examples from Ravens and Crows have been moved, but I'm still getting some new examples suggested so I don't want to launch it right away.
Creepy Corvacians is currently a redirect to Ravens and Crows. I'm going to change it to a redirect to Creepy Crows. I will also make Creepy Ravens and perhaps a few other things as redirects.
PlayingWith.Ravens And Crows applies mostly to a the Creepy Crows, so I will move all of that to PlayingWith.Creepy Crows.
Laconic.Ravens And Crows can be cut, as it has no inbounds. The new tropes will need their laconics.
I have Corvid Tropes index sitting in YKTTW, waiting for Creepy Crows and Clever Crows to be launched. Once both of those have been launched, I will create the new index and redirect Ravens and Crows to it.

A full first draft for Clever Crows[1] is up.

Creepy Crows and Corvid Tropes are launched, though Creepy Crows still needs to be cross-wicked. Ravens and Crows and redirected to Corvid Tropes. I moved the contents of Ravens and Crows to Sandbox.Ravens And Crows in case anyone still wants to get examples from there for Clever Crows or any other potential new Crow/Raven tropes, however I'm pretty sure all the ones that are relevant to Creepy Crows have already been copied over.

Someone just added this to Creepy Crows.
- In Bambi crows warn the other animals of the approach of man.
On the surface of it, it sounds to me like crows are being depicted as helpful and friendly, from the point of few of other animals, who are the protagonists of the show. Of course, I haven't seen the show in years, so maybe I'm missing something.
EDIT PS: Also, any suggestion about what to do with "Ravens as a Shout-Out to Odin" examples?

The crows in Bambi aren't creepy. Nor are they particularly clever. They're just crows.
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.Status Update: Clever Crows is just about ready for launch.
Once that launches and is added to Corvid Tropes, we can begin wick migratation in earnest. However, I've already moved some Crows And Ravens (originally a redirect to Ravens and Crows) wicks to Creepy Crows and Creepy Ravens. If anyone else wants to also take a stab on moving some examples of "Creepy" over while we are waiting on "Clever" that would give us less work to do latter.
I'm starting YKTTW for tengu because I'm seeing a number of wicks for Ravens and Crows that are really this type of crow related youkai
Please help out by copying over examples from Sandbox.Ravens And Crows and the wicks that might apply.

....I was sure we already had something covering Tengu, since they are some of the more common youkai in fiction...

They were only covered by a soft split on Youkai.
ahh, that's where I remember that. So I guess time for a hard split?
Clever Crows has just been launched. Please help out with migrating tropes. Also, as mentioned, I'm working on Tengu so if you see any Ravens and Crows wicks for those, please leave them in place until we can launch that trope.

I'm starting a new YKTTW for yet another type of mythological crow I just learned about. At this moment it is still rather bare bones, so please help out.
Would it be acceptable practice to make singular redirects these tropes (Creepy Crow, Creepy Raven)? I seem recall there is some rule against making plural redirects of singular tropes unless they are irregular plurals.
No, we don't need singular redirects. You can use the truncate markup ({{CreepyCrow|s}} = CreepyCrow) to get the singular. Ideally, though, the pages should have been made with the name singular rather than plural.

@ Catbert: "EDIT PS: Also, any suggestion about what to do with "Ravens as a Shout-Out to Odin" examples?"
Odin and his ravens are already mentioned in Clever Crows. Seems reasonable to me, but am I missing anything?
I've run across several mentions of characters having raven themes because they are loosely based on Odin, rather than because they have ravens that are themselves particularly clever.
Example: In The Wheel of Time, Mat Cauthon, generally held to be inspired in part by Odin, has a ring and a weapon with raven designs on them.
I can see going either of two ways on this:
—Where a work is only loosely based on Odin and the connection isn't fully explained, perhaps it's simply Ravens Sit on Chairs.
—However, if something specifically evokes Odin and his ravens, Huginn and Muninn (which mean "thought" and "memory," respectively), who can speak and serve as his lookouts, I would say that's an example of Clever Crows.
Do you see either of these for your Mat Cauthon example?
His stick has pictures of ravens and "though and memory" engraved on it, but no ravens being clever.
So it's Ravens Sit on Chairs?
Crown Description:
Vote up for yes, down for no.
This is a YKTTW entry for Creepy Crows. Please help by making suggestions for the description, transplanting existing Ravens and Crows examples that apply, and suggesting new examples.
