Current image is fanart. Maybe something of the Von Strucker twins or Phil and Lil from Rugrats.

Current is better than the suggestions.

Dude, were you making this thread while I was editing the page or something? Twinsies!

Anywho, previous thread. Since the consensus was pretty overwhelmingly in favor of the current, I'm giving this a Keep Until Better Image Suggested. Current's better than the suggestions for me as well.

But since I don't think it should be too hard to find something official, here's a few suggestions:

  • Leo and Luna from Yu-Gi-Oh 5Ds: 1 2 3
  • The Sumeragi twins from Tokyo Babylon 1
EDIT: Fixed broken link

Being fanart is not an argument in favour of pulling, sorry. Going to have vote keep on this one.

Current is very hard to top. Phil and Lil are a really obvious example, but none of the suggestions beat he current.

Most suggestions so far have been lateral moves, we can always add them to Image Links.

[up] Agreed. Phil and Lil are the only ones that I'd give a solid [tup] to and even then it's really a lateral move.

Huh, I'm not fond of the Phil & Lil example at all, way cluttered.

Current is good but I'd prefer something less Twincest-y.

Probably going to lean in a Twincest sorta way anyway I figure.

I'm not too fond of any anime examples, including the current, because of the whole Only Six Faces thing. Honestly, I think a Real Life example would be best, but unfortunately, I'm not having luck finding a decent example, so my vote goes to Phil and Lil.

[up] It's not a great reason to turn something down but it's okay.

It might "count" as an example, but I don't think the page image should be a photograph from real life, that is not representative of the trope overall. Rare exceptions often do not make illustrative page images. Usually, it's unrealistic for twins of different sexes to look exactly alike. (Similar, sure; but not similar to the degree of actual homozygotic twins.)

edit: Hm the image by itself maybe isn't bad.

The current is great. Being fan art is no reason to change it.

Don't think there's any trouble of the current image going anywhere but we have picked up more images for Image Links so that's a good thing I figure.

I'm going to buck the trend and disagree. I think a potential "problem" is the anime/manga-esque art style; which is notoriously known to often feature Only Six Faces. Meaning, just because two characters look similar (even identical), that doesn't mean they're definitely related, let alone twins. As such, I'm in favour of Lil and Phil as suggested in 1.2 as the more detailed faces make it less ambiguous.

Many of the images I see in Anime/Manga/the like character sheets have definitively more than 6, even similar, faces. So I don't think it's a problem.

I likewise see no Twincest there - merely looking at each other doesn't speak "incest" or even "romance" to me at all.

eta: In retrospect, phrasing the Only Six Faces argument as "I don't know it so I'll ignore it" was a bad move. I took it out and left only the important bit.

Don't think it's fair to ignore an argument simply due to unfamiliarity with its premise.

After-thought suggestion: What about Desna & Eska?

The gender difference there is small.

I don't think it's fair to ignore the rest of my argument, either.

You might not see Twincest or the problem with Only Six Faces, but the fact that it have mentioned here means that some people do. That's a problem.

Just because a trope's name is called Only Six Faces, it's obviously not required for there to be limited to just six similar facial designs for the trope to be in effect. The main argument is still the same - that owing to a simplified art style, a similarity in facial appearances alone does not necessarily mean the two characters are meant to be identical. Specific to the image in question, the only variables that they share in common are their hair colour and eyes. They don't even have noses to set them apart.

With regards to Desna & Eska, I think the presence/absence of breasts is a major differentiator between genders.

That latest suggestion is a lateral move.

A lateral move from a show which also has Only Six Faces (and I don't think it's lateral, it's more delineated in gender but picture quality is against it). I'm just saying the Only Six Faces argument is weak as it's by no means objective and doesn't actually affect what we're trying to show.
