Yu-Gi-Oh! Renaissance Academy Interest Check and Signups

I missed out on Syncros and XYZ, mainly because I didn't play in tournaments, only with friends and siblings. I don't have an account for either of the sites you mentioned, but I could get one.

Yeah, I want a Vampire-themed or otherwise Zombie-Type monster themed deck.

Actually they came out with a Vampire Archetype as well as a lot of powerful support for Zombies.

• Appearance: A tall, well built young man that has obviously gone through some physical training before coming here, he mostly wears a long sleeved coat with black fur at the collar. This coat looks rather heavy, and has a lot of pockets. He wears a black short sleeved shirt underneath it, though the right sleeve has been torn off. His blue jeans look a little bit worn, and he wears a black belt at the waist. His boots likewise look worn and well used. He has a handsome appearance, almost accentuated by the scar at his jawline. He has black hair, and his visible eye is a dark grey. He wears a grey eyepatch over the left eye, apparently due to an infection that got his left eye.
• Personality: Satomi is a rather odd guy, while he seems to really enjoy strenuous duels to the extent of seeming like a Blood Knight, he has a stringent code of honor and is a very loyal friend. This is born of what he calls his warrior code - everyone has a duty to give it their all, and there is a code to be followed in honorable battle. He takes pretty much everything in his own sort of serious manner, and is very well versed in lore and what within the game does what. He seems quite like a Warrior Therapist, being able to read intentions and feelings through moves. He is a cheerful, optimistic sort, and believes that "battle can bring people together."
• Bio: The son of a Japanese Immigrant and a French-Canadian local, he's always been a rather active individual. Active in martial arts and exploring local areas, he did not let an early injury that led to an infection in his left eye stop him from doing what he loved. And when "what he loved" expanded to include this fancy little card game, well...

• Name: Michael "Mikey" Faulkner

• Appearance: Bears a lot in appearance with his brother. Two recurring family traits are the blond hair and the height - Mikey is fairly short. He keeps his hair and general appearance... well he doesn't actually keep it that well and as a result tends to look fairly scruffy, with untamed hair that goes down to the tops of his shoulders and has a fashion sense for clothes that are a little too baggy for him, which definitely doesn't do him any favours.
• Bio: The middle child of the Faulkner family, with a younger brother in Central Academy and an older sister in East Academy, one might think that Mikey would feel pressure to live up to his family's standard, but he just.... doesn't. He isn't at Dueling Academy to be the next big Duelist, he's just there because... it's easy, and it's what Lulu did, so it took a lot of the pressure out of the decision. He wanted to go there because he could just cruise through without making too much of an effort and just play cards whilst watching TV that's way out of his age range (Like The Sparrow).

    • An alliance exists between the Realm of Light and the Different Dimension: Both swear they will protect any world in trouble and be the true guardians of justice and light. Sparrow and Lyla act as the envoys of their world when the two act as one.

    • One of the fairies saved by Sparrow early on in the series, formerly an infectee of Tragoedia's plague.

    • Sparrow rode it once, in the pilot, but it got mysteriously dropped without a word after that.

    • The Gravity Warrior is a strange one. Seemingly some kind of nomad, he pops up out of absolutely nowhere to assist Sparrow, especially when Sparrow is outnumbered and disappears again without a trace
• Other: Oh yeah, I fully plan to do the whole "Monsters talking with each other" thing. It's worth noting that Mikey does have some hidden Brilliant, but Lazy talent, but it definitely isn't Dueling.

I've got some interest in this, I'll try and get a sign-up sheet done within the next few days.

I've been a bit out of the game for a while, though, so if my character's deck isn't exactly... good, you'll know why.

I've also been out of touch with the series since GX stopped showing, is there anything canon-wise I should be aware of? I did a quick search on what Gazers and D-Pads are, so I'm at least caught up on those.

I'm not sure if this deck would be alright (not because it's insanely good just because it would be a little annoying to play against) or not. I've got another deck from a different RP that never took off I could use if this one is too much of a pain.

If this deck's alright I'll post my character later when I have a chance.

• Appearance: Not a cross dresser, she just likes fancy suits and such.
• Bio: Daughter of a couple that tended to a shop that repaired and sold electronics, her father even branding himself as an inventor of sorts, her upbringing was happy if usually quirky. Her enrollment came because of an old friend of her parents had re-surfaced and, so it turns out that he was involved in the founding of the academy and helped them get Gina in. Once inside she seasonally runs an “Equipment Repair Stand”

@Rivux: Well, as I mentioned before, Synchros and Xyz are a big thing. As for canon-wise, well, you should probably stay away from Earthbound Immortals, Malefics, and Timelords. There was also a thing in 5Ds called Turbo Duels, but we won't worry about that here. I actually think that's about it.

What would be a good RP for my "record" and "style"? I can't see any which would fit, led by any GM who would not just dismiss me based on my identity.

Nick, you weren't dismissed based on your identity. You were dismissed because Stan seems to think you made characters unsuited to a Slice of Life RP. I also see that you didn't follow the sign-up sheet, adding in "Personality" each time. Those were the major problems.

The fact that you tend to drop games often- you've left each of my 3 Duel Academy RP's without notice, and I'm certainly fair about your "record" and "style"- also hurts, because if your character is the MC for the 'episode' when you left, it would seriously hurt the RP. Now, the fact that you seem to be getting belligerent when dismissed proves why Stan might have any reservations about letting you join. You were given three fair chances, and Stan was respectful when deciding you wouldn't fit the RP. It isn't his job to make the RP suited to what you want to do, it's our job as players to fit the world he creates.

Now, if Stan is being biased about your "style", simply looking at previous YGO R Ps shows why: this is probably going to be an interaction-heavy RP, and yet many of your characters- Giery, Zaq, and even Masakuni- aren't very interactive. Each of them has been literally outright violent (Giery attacked another PC and hospitalized them), incomprehensible (Zaq has been a torrent of statements that are practically impossible for any logical person to respond to), or extremely belligerent and antisocial (Masakuni seems to belittle others on a whim and hate talking to anyone). Out of three of your PC's of whom I've run a game with or been in an RP with, they have all been hard to interact with.

While I'm not Stan, it's certainly obvious why he didn't want the characters you presented in this RP, even without any kind of bias towards or against you.

He typically played video games and dueled online to idle his time away.
