Poor Image: The Chanteuse

The current pic on The Chanteuse is really grainy; I think it's a low-res screen grab from a You Tube video. Some options for replacement:

• Emma◊ from Dark City
• Gina◊ from Porco Rosso
• Francesca◊ from Ghost Ship

When options include things I personally know, I tend to prefer those. (Only natural, I suppose.) So of those choices, I'd go with either the singer from The Empty Child or Gina from Porco Rosso. Between those two, I'd give it to Gina, however, since she's a main character in the work she's from rather then just a fleeting bit of background atmosphere.

I like 1.1 or maybe 1.3

1.4 doesn't look like she's singing at all.

How about Hayley◊ from American Dad!?

The Doctor Who one is best. Gina doesn't look sultry or like she's singing. Do you have another pic of Hayley? Photobucket doesn't come up well.

What do you mean it doesn't come up well? I click on it, and the picture appears just fine for me. I suppose I could upload it directly to TV Tropes in the morning, but I was trying to avoid doing that unless it looked like it might be used...

Or I could try and link you to the original image, but I'd have to search for it again. Anyway, I'd edited the image slightly to remove a TV Station watermark (which fortunately was against a piece of the image that was a solid color), crop a bit off of the sides, and reduce the width to 350 pixels, so it wouldn't be quite the same picture, anyway...

But whatever I do, it is bed time now so it shall have to wait. Good night!

I could see it fine, and it's a pretty good suggestion.

1.1, 1.3 and 1.5 are OK for me.

1.2 is great, but a little small. 1.1 and 1.3 also work.

I like the one from Dark City.

The Doctor Who one is good too (possibly better).

Alright, we don't have consensus on anything, so I've hooked a runoff between the options in the green. The rest will go on an Image Links page shortly.

We have seen an increased need for runoffs recently, didn't we?

Indeed...part of that is me forcing them in cases where we've got two or three options in the green but not enough consensus on them.

The votes on this one haven't shifted in a while, so I think it's safe to call. The new pic's up, potholed, and tagged, and the old pic and the others from the runoff are added to the Image Links page. Caption or no?
