- Belligerent Sexual Tension: Love, expressed by fighting.
- Foe Yay: Assumed or actual romance between two enemies.
This sort of question may be better suited for Trope Talk.
There's probably an overlap, but I don't think it's anything that needs fixing in TRS. We also have a total of 5000 wicks between the two tropes, so I don't think anything major is going to happen with them without a very convincing reason.
Check out my fanfiction!I find that Belligerent Sexual Tension describes a specific kind of relationship involving a Tsundere and a Jerk with a Heart of Gold, not just love expressed by fighting.
BST is when people bicker and argue instead of flirt. Foe Romance Subtext is where the relationship between enemies is portrayed in either romantic terms or occasionally actually is somewhat romantic in nature, overlapping with Dating Catwoman. Foe Yay is when shippers go crazy and decide that attempting to stab someone to death means you really love them.
And since this has been answered several times, and there's no supporting evidence that the trope is broken or needs repair of any sort, I'm locking the thread up.
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.
Ok, so Belligerent Sexual Tension is described as two people who fight must secretly like each other, but then what is Foe Yay then?
Does the line blur in this case?
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.
