(This is limited to only early 80's to early 90's titles.) Super Mario 3D world, Neo Contra, a shitload of Castlevania remakes. There have been many great arcade legends brought from the dead for a new era of gamers. But what about the unsung misfits that wern't TOO bad that could do better in this generation?

I was thinking a game like Ufouria The Saga would make a great Nintendo version of Terraria in this new age of gaming. And I think it's possible to make an Alex Kidd game THAT DOESN'T TROLL PLAYERS AND SUCK SO MUCH DICK!

So, any other games that you think need a Makeover? And no ideas like that shitty Bionic Commando remake. The robot arm could not be compatable without your wife's organ? Yea. Really FUCKING smart writting, Capcom!

Edit: I've decided that the list will expand to fifth Gen. counsels. But don't go crazy like saying we need ANOTHER Jak And Daxter game!

Bring back Linus Spacehead, and keep the uncontrollable floaty running jump! There are not enough uncontrollable floaty running jumps in platformers anymore. [lol]

I could also go for an Ice climbers remake that isn't so hard to control the characters.

I have wanted a new Mach Rider title for a while I don't know how practical it would be in the current generation.

I also think Nintendo should make a sequel to Nazo no Murasame Jo (The Mysterious Murasame Castle). I think it could be good but this time actually localize it.

Nazo no Murasamejo could get a charcter in Smash, that leas to a revival of the series, I think.

I was going to say Altered Beast, but I forgot that remake from 2005, so I'll go with Turrican.

Only up to early '90s? I'd say the fifth generation is fairly "retro" at this point, too.

Because I really want a new Panzer Dragoon RPG, unlikely though one is.

Mr Gimmick, first order of business is to make the titular character look less like Bob from Bubble Bobble.

When I was a kid, Astyanax was my favorite game, even though I had no idea how to spell it. I'd love to see them take another crack at that.

Got another one, and it's the granddaddy of all '96(Besides Super Mario 64): Jumping Flash. The first and ONLY FPS to act more like First-person platformer(IMHO). They don't even need to turn it dark and Battle Field-like, either. Just... have fun with the colors and ideas.

Does anyone remember Karnov? It would make for a decent Castlevania clone. God, I miss Data East.

[up]Paon owns the rights to Karnov, Chelnov/Atomic Runner, Vapor Trail, High Seas Havoc, and Glory of Heracles.

It is also founded by people that worked on those games when they were at Data East.

Jumping Flash. People today must be able to experience the thrill of being a robot with flea-like jumping power hurtling itself off of a tall building in a surreal landscape.

And on that note, how about Descent? None of the current spiritual successors really matched the feeling of playing that, except maybe Miner Wars 2081 and that game's buggy and slow.

Commander Keen and Jazz Jackrabbit need new installments (the third-party GBC and GBA sequels that came out around 2000 don't count).

Somehow you know that the time is right.

One PS 1 game I really enjoyed was Motor Toon Grand Prix. From what I remember, it was made by the same people that made Gran Turismo, but this was more like a Mario Kart-like racing game, with a cartoony art style and randomized weapons.

Also, if only Phil Hartman hadn't died, a new Blasto would've been awesome.

[up][up] That reminds me: I'd love to see a new Jill Of The Jungle game, complete with "save the prince" plot, slightly surreal landscape, animal transformations and interestingly strange throwing-knife physics. ^_^

A modern take on the Contra games as a over the should 3rd Person shooter or maybe even an FPS one.

I want to say Gex but its something that could have only existed in the 90s and likely would not be done well.

[up][up] I think Konami is actually working on a new Contra game - Contra Run and Gun. Don't know anything about it, although it might be a mobile game.

I remember a Sega Genesis game titled "Wander", but unfortunatly I can't find any hint of it online. The music during level 1 was THE best hero music i've heard in years. I lost it after a few years back. Mabey they can make a remake of it for eshop?

Smash TV. I'd love to see how this would be approached nowadays. I just hope they don't tone down the Black Comedy.

Doesn't Binding Of Isaac play like a Roguelike Smash TV?

[up] Eh, aside from the gameplay, most of the fun in Smash TV is the goofy premise, which is one of the reasons I'd like to see it revisited. The premise of Binding Of Issac doesn't appeal to me at all.

Let's see, Athena and Abadox for two, but especially the former. I was greatly amused by her (and the Red Arremer) showing up in SNK vs Capcom Chaos, but was really disappointed with Athena's original game when I played it ages ago. I didn't get anywhere with it until I played the arcade port years later.

Abadox is just a fun shooter to me and one of the only ones I've every played (the other being Super R-Type).

Pocky And Rocky is another series I'd like to see brought back again. I find it to be really underrated, especially once I learned that Touhou's Reimu was originally based on Pocky somewhat.note

Bomberman games in the vein of Bomberman 64 and The Second Attack (64's sequel) would be nice to see again as well.
