It's an improvement.
Check out my fanfiction! Not much of an improvement, I'll say. The suggestion isn't very clear either, and I can't see that the guy in the picture is supposed to be pirate, as opposed to a cheerleading team mascot. The current is rather blurry, but I can see what's happening just fine, so KUPIS.

I prefer the current. It could be improved with a screenshot, but it's a good illustration.
Image Source. Please update whenever an image is changed. But are the guys in the current one really pirates at all? Or just modern guys dressed up like pirates for a parade? Because the trope is "swashbuckling-16th century-style pirate in modern times", not "Modern guy dresses up like a pirate".
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.How about this◊ image from Pirates Of The Great Salt Lake then? We can see them in a modern office while genuinely trying to do traditional-piratey stuff.

I've only suggested that as I don't know if someone has the ability to provide a better picture, and that's the best picture I could think of at that moment.
(Believe me, it's an example, as said "mascot" is supposed to be the ghost of Blackbeard himself.
And the caption I've chosen is supposed to be Exact Words, as said track team are ordinary (if wimpy) teenagers.
In context, he's deliberately using the fact that only the other main character can see him to his advantage by fixing the game so that said team wins as he needs to save the decendants of him and his crew from a hostile takeover of their inn from a hostile crime bossnote ).
Anyway, back to the discussion, the picture at 6 doesn't work as well if you just done a quick glance, as you can only tell it's an example by looking at the background, which may look as antique as the pirates themselves if you don't see the contents of the shelve.
But the image doesn't indicate any of that. Without the context (and even with the context), it's hard to not assume that he's a part of the cheerleading team's pirate-themed mascot.
Else, we might be able to use some images of Steve the Pirate arguing with◊/attacking◊ a normal civilian.

The ship in the background looks like it's badly photoshopped in.
And a caption can help with that (modified, of course):
"The real Blackbeard's ghost cheering for his track team to win."
In case you're wondering, there's nothing wrong with the caption adding context to a scene.
If that's not true, then Fast Eddie wouldn't immediately lock the thread to Future Me Scares Me when he decided to add more words to the caption to provide context.
EDIT: "attacking" picture could work.

Clock is set.
Honestly, I'd be fine with pulling the current and letting it sit blank until Wiki Magic does its thing.
I'd be fine with that as well, really...
Ditto. Leave it to Wiki Magic is an acceptable idea for me.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanThe clock's up and there's not enough consensus for a pull, so let's leave it be for now. Locking up; no action is to be taken based on this thread.

While it DOES demonstrate, it seems blurry.
If someone can't make up a picture from the same scene, can I suggest this one, please?
(Said scene's from Blackbeard's Ghost, and is the only picture I can seem to find that makes it obvious that he's a pirate in a modern day setting).
