Nitrokitty: I ask you again, how do you propose to illustrate a dialogue trope (that is, a trope about what words are used in a situation) with little to no text?
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.I would use a page quote. Dialogue is not always best illustrated with an image.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanBut I'm not talking about page quotes and this isn't the "page quote" thread. This is Image Picking, and we're talking about page images.
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.I don't think there's a problem with using text to illustrate the trope (and the image works, as they're shown around a planning table, which adds a context that a raw quote wouldn't have), but I also think that adding a double caption would be overkill. We want only as much text as is required to demonstrate the trope, and having the giant block of text under the image really doesn't add much.
Reaction Image Repository@Mad: With an image that actually looks interesting.
Then suggest one.
Otherwise, this one's got support, and while your objection has been noted, I don't think it's enough to merit taking this down.
I don't like the idea of nixing all captions entirely, and I also don't like the idea of posting an xkcd comic without its second punchline - which is why I hid it in a labelnote, so it's not particulary intrusive.
Moon◊There is an OOTS strip with a chart of how evil Belkar is, with time on the x-axis, and "kilonazis" on the y.
Bottom of http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0489.html, unusually high graphics-to-text ratio for an OOTS image, not as many examples as the xkcd suggestion but more concise.

Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan. Also not very clear at all. If you have to tilt your head and squint (mostly because it's not spelled correctly), it's not very good.
I still think the xkcd is the best one. The one with the canisters (33.3) come close, though, but it just doesn't feel right for me.

Check out my fanfiction!Megadeaths are not this trope. Kilonazis are similar but not quite this trope. The trope is comparative: expressing a measurable characteristic in terms of something not generally used as a unit of measure. "Evil" is not a measurable characteristic.

...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.Of those, I like #3 the best.
Moon◊I am fine with @33 being 1,3 or 4.

Absent-minded professor and Neverwinter Nights DMWould fit on Fantastic Measurement System? It really seems more like that trope.
Check out my fanfiction! But Nazis aren't a fantasy race.
Image Source. Please update whenever an image is changed.Fantastic Measurement System doesn't have to be a Fantasy race. Kilonazi is a Fantastic Measurement System. Put the OOTS one on that page. It doesn't have an image either, and the strip is listed as an example there.
Hiroshima as a Unit of Measure is where a unit is scaled to a specific object.

...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.I've done exactly that. :-)
There's no obligation to keep it of course. Go ahead and suggest a different image if you can think of a better one.

Absent-minded professor and Neverwinter Nights DMClock is set. Any other thoughts on the caption?
Alright, the clock is up, and while the suggestion isn't ideal, it's better than nothing and has enough consensus to run with, so it's added as in 10 and tagged. Locking up.
I think I probably like 10 without any caption.
