... pull Creepy Changing Painting. It's not really creepy, and it certainly doesn't change.
EDIT: Okay, I did the scroll down thing. Let's just do that but... with another image. It doesn't have to be Mona Lisa, after all.
Alternatively, it's not really a duplicate image since it'll change and what have you.

Creepy Changing Painting was made as a special project. I don't think it will be pulled.
Also, I am going to say, I am willing to give this an exception to the no duplicate images rule - "It's just the same image as in Mona Lisa Smile - hey, it's not..."
Or even better, pull it from Mona Lisa Smile as that trope is not about Mona Lisa herself, but about derivative images. A possible substitute◊

"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanI can just about guarantee that Creepy Changing Painting is staying put. is a decent suggestion for Mona Lisa Smile, but it's a little...sloppy for my tastes.
Holy ninjas, Batman!

I see no reason to change either one. It's not an exact duplicate, and we chose to use the Mona Lisa for Creepy Changing Painting because it is well-enough known that it would be recognizable to virtually everyone and because changing the eyes is effective in demonstrating the trope.
Also, on all but one of the other "stock pose trope based on an iconic work of art" pages, the page image is the actual original, not one of the parodies. The only exception I found is "Last Supper" Steal.

...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.How does it do that?
Image Source. Please update whenever an image is changed. How does Creepy Changing Painting work, y'mean? It was just repurposed code from the randomized avatars used last Halloween.
Moon◊EDIT: Nevermind, I misunderstood the question.

This. after Eddie wrote the code to make avatars in the forums change when they scrolled off the page last year (two years ago? I don't recall) for Halloween, several people pointed out that it would work really well as a page image for Creepy Changing Painting. Tangent tweaked the code to work on the wiki-side, Rodney 'shopped up six variations on the Mona Lisa, and Eddie installed the whole shebang when we were all satisfied with it. That's why if you look at the source, there isn't the usual link for the page image. Instead, there's a command markup line.
If you're interested, here's the IP discussion thread that finally got it up and running.

...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.I would be fine with showing a few Mona Lisa derived works on the Mona Lisa Smile page, such as this one◊. That said I'm also fine with the current setup.
Rhetorical, eh? ... Eight! Here's the version I uploaded for Stock Poses with Daria: [1]◊
Image Source. Please update whenever an image is changed.I'm sorry, but why do we need to change the page image from the actual picture that is the subject of the trope? As I pointed out earlier, except for "Last Supper" Steal, the other stock poses based on actual works of art all have the original as the page image.
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.Well, aside from the issue that "the other pages have a similar image setup, so we need to duplicate it here as well" is not logic, the trope is about homages, parodies and the like, not Mona Lisa herself.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanPage launcher here. Originally I meant it as a catchall. In the case of The Painting, any homage, shout out, or instance where it is a plot point. And then also collect parodies and references to the smile itself.
Here's a previous TRS about this trope - https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/posts.php?discussion=4kfpm9azenx40xfkos7pjc9k&page=1
My opinion has since changed somewhat: I guess I wouldn't mind a Useful Notes page on The Painting so we can narrow this trope to parodies and homages to the pose and/or smile, but since I've mostly lost interest in most Tropes-related stuff I'm not really motivated to create one.
Clock is set.
I'm good with the full-size Daria pic.
I am OK with @12.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanI still say go with a picture of the original Mona Lisa.
To me, it's analogous to Example As Thesis vs. a normal description. There will be plenty of space for examples in the examples section, but it makes sense to have the original somewhere so that in the off-chance someone isn't familiar with the work, they will have a reference.
Just my two cents.
Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them.I am not clear on what that analogy is meant to say - EAAT would be "example in the description", which is not the case with Mona Lisa.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanClock's up; locking for inactivity/lack of consensus. No action is to be taken based on this thread.
Mona Lisa Smile and Creepy Changing Painting both use Mona Lisa as the page image (for the latter, at least to begin with). I'm reluctant to change the one on Creepy Changing Painting, since it's a unique installation that represents the trope well. On the other hand, how would you represent Mona Lisa Smile without Mona Lisa?
