I'm still single, but looking for a bf/gf is pretty low on my priorities list.

University is at the top of the list. Followed by books and gaming at joint second.

If it was possible to predict with statistics, my chance of getting a date would probably be about 3.5%.

Neither am I really at the moment since I won't even have my own residence until I'm probably around 20! Doesn't it sound like a more rational decision to wait until you're truly independent before including new people in your life?

I'm 20, and I'm still living with my parents. Sure, I move back to University in September, but will come home for regular visits. Maybe I'll rent a house out with a few friends, who knows. But I'm not looking for a relationship right now. If it happens, great. Good for me. If it doesn't, it's not the end of the world. -shrugs-

I'll likely either have to move in with friends, or end up leaving the ones at college behind because of living issues.

Getting a job, car, and hopefully new housing before the next year and a half is way higher on the priority list. In fairness, getting a girlfriend probably would've taken double that, so all the better.

Question: why are people so eager to get a bf/gf?

What would've been good news: Two girls have told me that they like me, and have asked me out on a date and see where things go.

But I cannot accept, because these girls are like children. Okay, not actual children (they're 17 and 18, I'm 21) but I dunno if they even understand what they're getting into. It just feels really uncomfortable.

So much for A Man Is Always Eager, huh?

On the other hand, first time a girl has told me she likes me, instead of the usual other way around, so I got that going for me, which is nice (where is that meme from?). Nice to know I'm not inherently repellent to the opposite sex.

I notice that it's not so much that I'm repellent to the opposite sex as they just seem to find others comparatively better, most of the time.

Then again, my passive unwillingness to act probably has something to do with it. I'm not the best at taking initiative.

I often consider this thread to be my temporary second home, the Trash Heap was my first before I moved elsewhere. This thread isn't active daily, so I often have to find threads like Hangout or Shipping.

Well if this place can be considered a home, then I think it needs a new coat of paint or something.

You're right, we should paint it blue...or green...or gray.

Or... Orange.

I don't care much for orange, and the first person who suggests "rainbow" as a color or "pink" will get....completely covered in buckets of said paint and promptly told to leave.
