Urban Fantasy Zombie Apocalypse (Intererest Check & World-Building)

Okay, I have just thought up of a concept for an RP. An Urban Fantasy Zombie Role-Play with some crossover elements. The titular zombie apocalypse is NOT global, but regional/national, mostly confined to the United States with heavy quarantine measures taken place. It is much like 21st Century America, but Magic, Sci-Fi Technology, and various fantasy races exist in this world, most exist openly like Faeries, Elves, and Neko, but a few exist in secret, like Vampires and other sentient undead. The setting runs on Rule of Cool and is anime-inspired.

Long story, short, a corrupt MegaCorp has unleashed a zombie virus into the United States in an attempt to take over the country by destabilizing the government and forming their own corporate state instead. And now, various factions spring up to fight the zombies and survive the night. Heavily fortified safe-zones are established and adventurers head out to kill undead and rescue survivors and scavenge for additional supplies.

Zombies aren't the only threat. There's raider groups, demons, aliens, and greater sentient undead such as Vampires, Death Knights, Wights, Liches, and the like.

The setting of my RP is a fictional metropolis and the surrounding countryside, and there are various factions I have established in the city.

• The Company (Working title)
  • Description: The MegaCorp that started the zombie outbreak.
  • HQ: A fortified laboratory
  • Goal: Destroy evidence, establish their own order, bring civilians into their control, and destabilize government forces.

• Civilians
  • Description: The various innocent civilians in the city, who have banded together to survive.
  • HQ: A fortified hospital, guarded by armed civilians with assistance from the Police and National Guard.
  • Goal: Survive, simply survive.

• Police
  • Description: The local law enforcement in the city, who seek to protect civilians and arrest Company members.
  • HQ: The Police Station
  • Goal: Protect and Rescue Civilians

• National Guard
  • Description: The National Guard has been activated to guard civilians and the various emergency safe zones in the city and assist the police.
  • HQ: A fortified Emergency Shelter
  • Goal: Protect civilian assets such as the hospitals and shelters from both the zombies and The Company, as well as stop raiders.

• US Army
  • Description: The active-duty military forces have been patrolling the city and surrounding countryside to destroy undead, seize The Company's assets, enforce martial law. While the National Guard is defensive in nature and protects civilians, the Army is out destroying the infected and other threats.
  • HQ: A large military base
  • Goal: Enforce martial law, kill zombies, raiders, and agents of the Company.

• US Navy
  • Description: The Navy, Marines, and Coast Guard are stationed in the waters outside the city along the bays, seas, and rivers to enforce the quarantine and make sure the infection does not spread.
  • HQ: The USS Roanoke, a massive heavy destroyer docked outside the city harbor.
  • Goal: Control the spread of the infection

• The Inquisition
  • Description: Anime Catholicism at its finest, these Church Militant figures are here to destroy the greater undead (vampires, liches, etc.) and rescue any stray civilians.
  • HQ: A large Gothic cathedral in Downtown.
  • Goal: Destroy the Greater Undead and any zombies who dare attack holy ground. Rescue lost civilians and burn those Company heretics!

• Bikers
  • Description: These outlaw bikers are raiding the town and looting for supplies.
  • HQ: A lightly fortified biker bar on the outskirts of town
  • Goal: Raid the city

• FBI
  • Description: These G-Men are a toned-down version of the Men In Black and are out to gather incriminating evidence against The Company to present to the UN and allow for international intervention.
  • HQ: An abandoned warehouse
  • Goal: Gather evidence against the Company

• Rednecks
  • Description: These rural-dwelling amateur survivalists have barricaded their small trailer park and decided to fend off the zombies on their own by any means necessary. They can be friend or foe to both government and corporate forces.
  • HQ: A trailer park on the outskirts of town
  • Goal: Fend off the zombies until an alliance can be made with one of the larger factions.

Also, I have the following races in mind

• Humans: Obviously
• Neko: Cat-girls and Cat-boys
• Kitsune: Fox-girls and Fox-boys
• Ookami: Wolf-boys and Wolf-girls
• Halflings: Essentially hobbits
• High Elves: Beautiful pale-skinned elves with bright eyes and silver hair.
• Wood Elves: Hardy, fair-skinned, dark-haired forest dwelling elves.
• Dark Elves: They're like the Drow from Dungeons And Dragons, but not evil.
• Dwarves: All Dwarves Are The Same and these guys are no exception
• Faeries: Short and cute, these Moe-looking fey are known for being sweet, adorable, childlike, and having a knack for magic.
• Orc: Green-skinned and muscular, the Orcs are a proud warrior people and are not as ugly or stupid as most traditional depictions.
• Aasimar: Celestial-blooded half-angels
• Tieflings; Demonic-blooded half-demons
• Dragonborn: Half-dragons. Some look human, others like draconic, but all have potent powers.

I have also considered a character class system, but I'm not sure what all to include.

Well, it seems like we have enough interest, time to make character classes.

Bumping for an update on the character classes.

The classes will be split into four creeds: Warrior, Rogue, Wizard, and Priest. Each creed has a sub-class beneath it.

• Warrior: The fighters, nuff said.
  • Possible Sub-Classes: Commando, Ranger, Amazoness, Marine, Enforcer, Cavalier, Berserker, Sailor
• Rogue: Thieves and subversive classes
  • Possible Sub-Classes: Thief, Thug, Ninja, Mobster, Pirate, Bard
• Wizard: Mages and Scientists
  • Possible Sub-Classes: Engineer, Alchemist, Elementalist, Necromancer, Conjurer, Mystic, Illusionist, Technomancer
• Priest: Clerics, Healers, and divinely-inspired heroes
  • Possible Sub-Classes: Medic, Paladin, Druid, Witch-Doctor, Inquisitor, Monk

Are Ookami werewolves?

Not exactly, they're humanoids with wolf-like features, namely wolf ears and wolf tails.

I'd say the addition of character classes solidifies my interest.

I'm still trying to work out the character classes, and once I do, I will post signups.

Theoretically, yes

Oh, then I'm definitely in. That's not what I'm planning for a character (except for the Dark Elf part) but just the idea that I could has sold me.
