@Soble: There's lots of great fanart on pinterest indeed, thanks! I'm gonna check out all that stuff later!
@Wyldchyld: Yep, that's some good advice right there. I should really try and stay away from the fandom for a while. I'm aware something's gonna happen to Yang, but I don't even know who Adam is or how exactly Yang's gonna lose her arm. And no, I didn't get spoiled because of this thread; some people were freaking out about it like what, a year ago? But yeah, I'll be back later and talk your collective ear off about my impressions :) I don't need to get even more spoiled, heh.
There's a moment we make a decision Not to cower and crash to the ground The moment we face our worst demons Our courage foundYeah. I'd also watch the trailers if you can, and the World of Remnant segments. A lot of people on this forum will tell you the Wo R episodes are a waste and the trailers are skippable, but I find they contain a lot of useful information about the world and hints about characters and powers (you can make up your own mind about them). So, I think they're worth watching, and therefore the best thing to do is just follow the publication order for everything. The order things were published in:
- Four trailers (Red, White, Black, Yellow) — these give prequel events to the show's first episode.
- Then the Volumes 1-3 episodes and Wo R segments in the order that RT originally published them (they alternate these a bit during Volumes 2-3)
- Then Volume 4 short (which is basically a trailer for Volume 4, but it gives an idea of what certain characters have been up to since Volume 3 and introduces a brand new Grimm)
- Then the Volume 4 Wo R segments (unlike earlier volumes, the Wo R segments were done before the volume kicked off, instead of alternating with episodes throughout the volume).
- Then Volume 4 episodes.

If my post doesn't mention a giant flying sperm whale with oversized teeth and lionfish fins for flippers, it just isn't worth reading. Thanks a lot, they were pretty interesting and fun to watch! Man, Monty sure knew how to make great combat scenes. Red and White were def my favorite. And the mini-series is pretty neat too; the world building in the Volume One was very sparse, but the volume two and Wo R make up for it. I bet there's a lot of foreshadowing between the trailers and Wo R, heh.

There's a moment we make a decision Not to cower and crash to the ground The moment we face our worst demons Our courage foundJust you wait.
Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.And thus, we waited.
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!I just me or nuck was that grimm everyone said monty liked it?
"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"I hadn't heard that one before.
Also the Grimm that Miles is a huge fan of has yet to appear, he said it on one of the other shows.
Hypothetical question for not only RWBY Fans, but Taro Yoko fans as well.
what if when ending E of Drakengard happens, what if instead of it happening in 2003 shinjuku, japan, it ends up happening in the world of RWBY instead?
what would change?
Watch SymphogearAbsolutely nothing, as Remnant has even worse shit than the Grotesqueries?
Not quite. For one thing, I doubt that Remnant's scientists are capable of stopping people from turning into pillars of salt, or reverse the process.

It would get a whole lot worse for everyone on top of that if Red Eye really was a resurrected Caim.
A corpse should be left well enough alone...Salem would definitely be shitting her pants, that's for sure. XD!
Watch SymphogearIn the remnants of Remnant, one Grimm shall save mankind from the otherworldly blight... or destroy it in the process. A lot.
Oh man, I finished the Volume Three yesterday. I promised myself I won't post in this thread till I watch the Volume Four, but the second half of Volume Three was so powerful, I just can't help myself. I'm still kind of in a stupor, hah.
Yeah, it felt cheap when Yang lost her arm to that bastard. I wish they bothered to show her Aura grow weaker in the fight or something. I still feel it's a good thing, regardless. I hate Plot Armor and Beauty Is Never Tarnished with passion - being a "top-heavy" girl doesn't make you immune to serious injury.
I cried when Pyrrha died. I... kind of saw it coming. Our almost-to-be-Maiden's demise was foreshadowed in her goddamn name, FFS. She grew to become my favorite character - next to Ironwood, Weiss and Winter (man, I sure have a thing for the kingdom of Atlas, huh). I found her VA lacking most of the time, but it wasn't too grating. Pyrrha was supposed to be stiff and formal, after all. I feel so bad for Jaune, too; the poor guy had no idea what the hell was going on and he was way over his blonde head. I hope he will avenge Pyrrha someday and become the badass she'd want him to be!
Man, I still tear up a little when I think about what happened. It's funny, I don't cry often, but RWBY made me care so much about its cliched characters, heh. Sure, the writing isn't too great (I'm looking at you, Ruby!), some animations are lazy as fk and the voice acting leaves a lot to be desired, but... yeah, I'm loving it.
Uhhh... What fight? That was a Single-Stroke Curb-Stomp Battle.

Don't worry about being spoiled for Volume 4 because nothing really happens in it. You could probably just watch the first episode, the last episode, and a couple episodes in between without actually missing anything too terribly important.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!Seeing how that's a pretty debated thing, maybe you should leave the person to make up their own mind about that.
Well, let's see.
You have the stuff in the first episode (with the scene with Oscar being an absolute waste of time), finding out that Oscar is possessed by Ozpin and Ozpin wants him to go to Haven, Weiss' family sucks, Yang has PTSD and gets a robo arm, the White Fang are up to no good, Qrow VS Tryian (which shouldn't be skipped simply because it might be the best fight in the whole damn show), all the lore Qrow dumps on us afterwards, Ren and Nora's past, and the final episode.
Did I miss anything? While I'd have to read through the episode synopsis to figure out exactly how many and which ones, you can learn all of that without having to watch all 10 episodes between the first and the last. At most, I'd say it requires six of them.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!I'd say, yes, you're oversimplifying things and ignoring people might not value things the same way you do, but at the same time, that's an old discussion with the same people over and over again.
So, we should wait to the new person actually has an opinion of the season before maybe starting it up again.
Even outside of that though, your comment seems more like a cynical Take That!, than a genuinely helpful suggestion.
@Black Sun Nocturne: Yeah, I think that was way too sudden. I wish they showed Yang getting hurt by the White Fang or something, but eh. I know what the authors were aiming for; the shock factor helped hammer in just how effin dangerous Adam is so I can't blame them too much. I sure hope the bastard will suffer for what he did, heh.
@Zelenal and LSBK: Don't worry about me getting spoiled, really. I knew about the arm thing, yet I still felt surprised enough.
There's a moment we make a decision Not to cower and crash to the ground The moment we face our worst demons Our courage foundI think it was more reminding people Adam can do that, since the last time he actually appeared in a fight was the Black Trailer. Which, by that point was... two to three years before that episode's release?

Eh, well like I said, it's a pretty divisive season. Depending on what you're looking for in the story and your opinion of certain ways of writing, it will either feel terribly slow, as a nice poignant breather with plot mixed in, or somewhere in the middle of the two extremes.
For me, I'd say it was somewhere in the middle, but I like how it set up future things.

The point of it was to show that Team RWBY still has a long way to go till they can fight the big bad guys, and if anyone was gonna get the Worf treatment, it was going to be Yang.
I don't have a problem with Yang's disarming.
@Mely. Stay away from the shipping, and I'd recommend staying away from this thread, and any fan forum until you've caught up to the most recent episode (Volume 4 finale).
There are quite a few spoilers, and both the shipping and fan art exploits the spoilers as well.
Watch the show first, then come and tell us how you thought it all went. We'll be interested in seeing your reaction. :)
