Poor Image: Youthful Freckles

Pre-weekend bump for votes; as of right now:

I had my days wrong...it's the pre-pre-weekend bump. Times 2, now.

Ugh... I can't stand full-cover images on trope pages unless the trope is about covers.

Can a vote be changed? I seem to have voted for the wrong one. Not a big deal if it can't. I'm just wondering.

You can change a yea to a nay and vice versa, but you can't completely rescind a vote that I've ever noticed.

I could have sworn I had a yea and a nay that I want to be switched a few minutes ago, but now they're where I wanted them to be.

@ 28: The title would be cropped off the Dennis pic, no reason to have it on there. I still much prefer any of the photograph pics, but those don't appear to be contenders right now.

I understand that actors are cast in a role and thus express the character's design. It's another step, though. I just like the cartoon. Here it is 350 tall:

That looks good. I'm also basing my opinion in part on Eddie's veiled gripe in the thread for Manic Pixie Dream Girl about the flood of cartoon images, anime or otherwise.

Gave Dennis a thumbs-down: The freckles are quite inconspicuous with regards to the other content of the image.

I think the context is the best part, it shows his youthfulness not just in terms of age, but immaturity as well. The trope isn't just about young people having freckles, it's about freckles denoting immaturity as well.

I know I voted for Dennis but I'm thinking maybe the Dennis The Menace picture would be better on the Youngsters index, as it shows many things about youth, instead of the image of two innocent looking girls that Youngsters currently has. The current picture on Youngsters would be better on Tropes of Innocence anyway.

You know...I like that suggestion a lot.

I have a reservation about lexicon's suggestion that Youngsters also covers teenagers. I wouldn't mind that page's current image being moved to Tropes of Innocence, though.

True, but since it's an index I doubt that it's going to cause much in the way of confusion.

Should I add that as an option in the crowner or should we vote by post?

I usually prefer vote by post. The crowner's about this page after all.

I think moving the images around can make people change their minds about the votes and if the Dennis one is chosen for this it can't be on another page or it would be a duplicate. I think it should be added as an option.

I like the image in 33 the best.

If we did use Dennis on Youngsters, should we completely re-crowner the other suggestions or just use the Pippi pic in the green? I'm good either way.

Re-crowner. We don't have any guarantee that people are downvoting Pippi just because of Dennis.

Pippi is at 5 and Dennis is at 2. We won't need to re-crowner if Pippi wins anyway. If we re-crowner all it will do is make Pippi win by more.

Changed my vote. I like the suggestion that the Dennis image be moved to Youngsters, etc. While I think no one in their right mind is going to confuse a trope named Youthful Freckles with anything on the image other than freckles, I think the Pippi one is just as good, but has less uses than the Dennis one.
