I really enjoyed this one. Daniel Day Lewis did a great job. Not even Leonardo Di Caprio could have ruined this one for me.
YUUGI WANTS YOU FOR DRINKING BUDDYBut I like Leonardo Di Caprio.
You need an adult.I have a love / hate relationship with the guy.
In some roles he's just so 'I AM AN ACTOR. I ACT'. In others, he's really good. This was one of those times. So was Inception, for another example.

YUUGI WANTS YOU FOR DRINKING BUDDYIt took me forever to watch Inception. I think it was because of the hype. Or the fact that Dad had a huge hate-on for the movie, which might've put me off. He kept telling me to watch it because he wanted to know what I thought. When I did finally watch it, and liked it, he was all "I knew you would. :<"
You need an adult.I was actually disappointed by Inception due to the hype surrounding it. Everyone had me convinced it was far more complex than it turned out to be. Not that it's a bad movie or that I don't like it. Quite the opposite in fact, I think it's really cool.
But I was a little disappointed by how straightforward it turned out when everyone was telling me it was either hard to follow or filled with mindscrew.
Basically, I need to watch it again and start fresh with it.
YUUGI WANTS YOU FOR DRINKING BUDDYYeah, it's no Memento.
You need an adult.Exactly.
I haven't met anyone that didn't... I've met people more critical of it than others, but never a person who outright disliked it.
YUUGI WANTS YOU FOR DRINKING BUDDYI've met lots of people who simply didn't get it. XD
Standing on the edge of the crater...I think my Dad was one of those people, but couldn't tell him that without coming off as insulting. He's not a sci-fi fan. Why he even watched Inception to begin with is a bit of a mystery—I think it's because he was under the impression it was a crime thriller, the sort of which he likes.
Dad has too much reality in his life.
You need an adult.I do like the Inception memes!
I need to figure out how to put a meme inside of a meme. Maybe "Yo Dawg, I heard you like memeception..."
Bigotry will NEVER be welcome on TV Tropes. So I put a nurse in your nurse so you can drink hot cocoa while you drink hot cocoa?
Anyway, last one I watched was Die Mörder sind unter uns ('The Murderers are Among Us'), the first German film produced after World War Two. It's about a shellshocked veteran in Berlin who comes across his former commanding officer, whom he knows to be responsible for the killing of several hundred Polish civilians. He decides to take the war criminal down Vigilante Man style.
Meanwhile, circumstances (and by 'circumstances' I mean 'most of Berlin being reduced to rubble') force him to room with a young woman who is a concentration camp survivor. Although they get on each other's nerves at first, they eventually fall in love. In the end, the woman persuades him not to go through with his plan, and have the officer arrested, tried and imprisoned instead.
The contrast between the two is very interesting: they have similar traumas, but they deal with them in completely opposite ways. He becomes an alcoholic and wastes his time on the streets and in sleazy nightclubs; she works hard, helps others where she can and does her best to build up a normal domestic life in the ruins.
Also, it impressed me how a film made in Germany only a year after the war's end could be so honest and confrontational about the things that happened in the war.
Interesting note: in the original ending, the main character does kill his former CO. The Allied occupation authorities had this changed, because they feared it would inspire vigilante justice against war criminals in Real Life.
Mache dich, mein Herze, rein...^ Sounds like an interesting one.
Complicated - because simple is simply too simple.Indeed it does. How did you come across it, if I might ask?
Last movie watched... probably Lawrence Of Arabia. Fun stuff. Bit long to watch in one sitting though.
Equipped with his five senses, man explores the universe around him and calls the adventure Science.I remembered reading something about it in my history book back in secondary school, and Googled the name.
The third year of the Dutch history curriculum is almost entirely about Germany: Imperial Germany, World War One, Weimar Germany, Nazi Germany, the Second World War, and then of course East Germany and the Berlin Wall.

Mache dich, mein Herze, rein...Skyfall. I just found this okay - I felt like there were perhaps too many Action Film, Quiet Drama Scene moments and the Hollywood Hacking elements were a bit silly, but it was enjoyable and had it's share of cool moments. I sort of need to watch more James Bond - pretty much all I've seen in full is this, Goldfinger, and I think one of the Pierce Brosnan ones when it was new.

Argo.
Good, but not particularly great.
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel.Sweet and fun. Maybe not the best film but definitely a interesting little romance. Book's still better.

Eating a Vanilluxe will give you frostbite. How was it?
dead devotionThe Passion of Joan of Arc, with the accompanying musical score. Live. What an experience.
Of course, don't you know anything about ALCHEMY?!- Twin clones of Ivan the Great
Just saw Prince of Persia. The scripting was every bit as bad as you would expect, but at least they had an interesting macguffin and didn't rely too much on CGI. Jake Gyllenhaal seemed to be having the time of his life.
