Both artists are meh, uneven.
Insert witty 'n clever quip here.I don't care for them, either. I don't think I've liked anything from those two, and even when featuring they do not make the song better.
They're just part of that crowd that you wish to fade off the radar and into some sort of 'has-been' cult status.
I dunno, I liked "Superbass" (which I also just realized now could be read as "superb ass"), ironically liked "Stupid How Hoe", and liked Iggy's verse in "Problem". Just don't think they maintain a consistent enough level of quality to merit my attention.
If Nicki and Iggy decide to go through with the beef that the media is trying to engender, they can actually save each other.

Insert witty 'n clever quip here.Yay, Rather Be keeps climbing.

Deep into that darkness, peering, long I stood there, wondering, fearing, doubting, dreaming dreams no mortal ever dared to dream before.Yeah, that song's growing on me. Hopefully my favorite new entry this week ("I Will Never Let You Down") will also become a hit.
Peace is the only battle worth waging. When I first saw the song's name was "Anaconda", my first thought was "MY ANACONDA DONT. WANT. NONE. UNLESS YOU GOT. BUNS. HUN!" Turns out that's actually what it samples.
That makes it the second animal-themed sex song I've heard in the past year…
Peace is the only battle worth waging.@Gamebreaking: "Rather Be" is the best thing I've heard all year. It's almost as good as "Get Lucky", as the generic female pop vocals hold it back from being as good, if not better.
Please help out our The History Of Video Games page.Just went ahead and listened to "Rather Be" and I'm rather glad I did. That's the most musically adventurous pop song I've heard in a while. It's so layered yet, at its core, so simple. It's wonderful. The music video is pretty good too.
Insert witty 'n clever quip here.I'm waiting for the day Clean Bandit decides to feature Ellie Goulding on one of their songs, but until then, I can listen to this.
"Rather Be" is definitely a positive surprise. Especially the layers it reveals upon multiple listens.
Charli XCX is doing some more songwriting for other artists. This time, she co-wrote a song for a new artist called "Octo Hate". Quite impressive, and I'm loving Ryn Weaver's entire EP too. Good for those who love bright-sounding indie-pop with darkened lyrics.
Although "indie" here is debatable, since she is signed under Interscope's umbrella. I wonder if they're aiming for another alternative crossover, a la Lorde. Or if they're letting her do her own thing.

I do like what I've heard of Charli.
(On Lorde, however: do you think she'll stay as famous as she is?)
On Lorde, I think her sophomore album will keep her on the scene. She's curating the Mockingjay soundtrack, and I have a feeling whether single that comes out of it will be pushed more than "Tennis Court".
Curating?
Picking out which artists are going to feature on it, I believe, which is going to be interesting.
But that doesn't mean she's gonna be on it, yes?
She's also recording the lead single for it.
Oh, and the stream for Kimbra's upcoming album is now out.
Well, this will be very interesting to watch.
And...Kimbra...is she good?
Kimbra is amazing. I have been waiting for her second album anxiously as... eh, something you people wait anxiously. Christmas?
Listening to it right now.
Squee...
My first impression is that so far, it's much wilder than *Vows*, and more sensual than her previous album, without being outright sexual. It also takes more influence from funk than more acoustic R&B. It uses a lot of after-song interludes without drawing them too much.
Overall, it's more experimental, but in a really great way. I hope this album keeps being entertaining for me. I need something to shake up my current music rotations.
Ooh, I haven't listened to Kimbra in a while. I now have high hopes for this second album.
Sampling Sir Mix A Lot is the only thing that saves it.
