Take note of the fact that he will only use this power if the situation truly warrants it; severing the Force from somebody is no easy feat, especially if you're cutting them off from it permanently. No one needs fear this power, so long as Master Kavril isn't given incentive to use it.

I'm not worried so much that he'd use it on one of us, I'm worried that Elayne might try to copy him, and succeed. That would be bad. That would be very, very bad.

[up]Bad? How are you going to disconnect a droid from the force?tongue And I'm pretty sure airlock controls aren't one with the universe, either.

Maybe not for you, but for everyone else? An impulsive, slightly hot-headed Force prodigy who just learned how to "lolnope" every other Force-wielder she ever meets? That is the definition of bad. That is "makings-of-an-evil-overlord" bad.

I don't really think it's something to worry about, seeing as you're the one controlling Elayne.

You could just have her not do that.

Also, considering there's four Jedi on board, two of them Jedi Masters, I think they would see a disturbance coming from a mile away.

Dude probably spent a few decades mastering that anyway, so her learning it might be out of the scope of the RP.

Mayhaps there'll be a sequel?

Of course she won't use it here even if she does learn it, because I'm better than that. But you must admit, tge prospect is terrifying.

Even without the presence of the Masters, the technique is not easily-learned; it takes years to learn and master even at the best of times, so I don't think there's too much risk of Elayne picking it up by accident. As for whether or not there will be a sequel, it's too early to say; it all depends on how well this one goes.

I should have the discussion thread up sometime tomorrow morning, though the game thread itself will probably come the day after, if that; want to make sure that I've got everything in order before we begin. Right now I'm working on ships, for the (quite likely) event that we find ourselves involved in a spess battuhl. On that subject, since our team has a distinct lack of smugglers to volunteer their freighters, I do believe that the Jedi Council will be providing us with an unregistered one of these. It's not the prettiest ship in the galaxy or the most heavily-armed, but it will do; and there will be opportunities for you to modify it over the course of the game.

Anyone have any suggestions for a name?

Archelon? And here goes my half-assed character submission

  • Name: Unit TKB-022, Though it prefers to be called twenty-two.
  • Age: 3 years of sentience.
  • Gender: Masculine programming
  • Species: JS-2 (Jedi-Stopper) class heavy war droid
  • Appearance: Rather than blue, it's primarily colored with gunmetal grey and has shiny phrik alloy covering it's claws
  • Class: Soldier
  • Abilities and Equipment: Since it's design is based off a lifter droid, Twenty-two has incredible strength and power; more than capable of tearing open most doors or obstacles save for things like bulkheads and security gates. Being a war droid made to specifically counter Jedi, it not only has the standard built-in comlink, multiple vision modes of such machines and armor thick enough to render it largely immune to most conventional small-arms fire; it also has a fairly complex series of combat subroutines that allow it to fight a Jedi or renegade Sith with a fair amount of efficiency with it's phrik-covered "hands".
    • Weapons: A flamethrower built-into the "palm" of the right arm, a shotgun blaster on the left "palm" and a pair of high-power spotlights on it's shoulders meant to blind and confuse enemies or for mere illumination.
  • Personality: Though it has only been self-aware for 3 years, it hasn't the mindset of a child or something similar to it but rather that of a Coward who is completely afraid of dying and danger; but since it's intelligent enough to know that to go against or show it's true colors to it's Sith creators would be certain doom rather than a possibility in the field of battle, it tried it's best to at least act the part of a typical, if overly cautious JS-2. Aside from it's cowardice it can be quite the toady and overly-helpful sort should it be given the opportunity to be itself rather than acting like an emotionless killing machine.
  • Background: Originally a standard JS-2, Twenty-two's self-awareness came to be in a logistics mix-up; where it and it's batchmates were given processors more powerful than what they required during a routine maintenance... (Will flesh out later)

I plan for him to join the group after their first mission.

I'm by no means the expert here, so ignore me if I'm wrong, but... I'm pretty sure that type of droid doesn't exist. As I recall, there's never been a droid that's been capable of handling Force-users in 1v1 combat (mostly because of the whole "magic space-wizard powers" thing).

Well, except for that one kind of battle droid they used during the years of the Sith Empire which was treated with Sith alchemy and given a giant-ass sword, but those were pretty expensive to make, and have since gone out of style, so to speak.

Discussion thread is up, folks.

As for Twenty-two, putting aside that this droid is basically a small dreadnought and highly resistant to most forms of attack (save the Force), it could be some time before he ends up joining the crew if you intend to wait until after they complete their first mission as I'm not entirely sure how long that will take. Plus, he's not exactly the most inconspicuous of battle droids; even though he's a Sith droid, I can't imagine that there are too many of these war droids going around within the Empire, especially if they're on their own and/or not accompanying Sith soldiers into battle.

I don't think that this guy is going to work, and to be honest I'm not sure how he could be tweaked to better fit with the game right at this moment.

Still a spot? I've still got to read the OP and actually come up with a char, but I'm interested in the Star Wars verse thanks to the recent news and all that.

Also, my knowledge is only limited to the movies. Are there going to be any problems?

  • Name: Kray Mehir
  • Age: 55
  • Gender: M
  • Species: Flying Space JewToydarian
  • Appearance: Kray is a typical Toydarian, though a bit on the large side. He's got quite a bit of a gut, and he looks almost like a gargoyle with all the tech and stuff hanging on him.
  • Class: Scoundrel with an emphasis on hacking, gadgets, and explosives.
  • Abilities and Equipment: Kray can make basically any tech necessary for the mission, though prefers explosive, subversive, or otherwise destructive gadgets to subtle hacking. He has quite a lot of connections, so he can also get the supplies needed for the tech in the first place.
  • Personality: Everything makes sense to Mehir. First this happened, then this, then this, everything in its place with it's own purpose. Technology epitomizes this perfect ideal, which is why he loves it so much.
  • Background: Kray grew up among other Toydarians on Corellia as an orphan. This being Corellia, his parents of course orphaned him at a young age as they were gunned down in front of his eyes. Of course. And that was the attitude Kray adopted: everything is perfectly sensible and predictable. Of course his parents died, Corellia is just like that! He became a mechanic, because of all the jobs available to an enterprising Toydarian that was the one that had the most order and structure. He got noticed by the Republic Armed Forces when he was caught cruising around in a heavily-modified APC; he had gotten away with it for a month simply because the vehicle was nearly unrecognizable amidst the massive amounts of upgrades and and modifications. He then served on-and-off on a contract basis for a few campaigns with them as a mechanic, fixing Republic gear and subverting the enemy's. He supposes that one campaign on Tatooine with the pack of Banthas and the missing Gaderffi really cemented his legend and got him onto the strike force.
