For the uninitiated... A contingent of tropers (mostly from across America) holds regular get-togethers over the Interwebs on this site called Synchtube which lets individuals, such as ourselves, open and join in text-based chatrooms within typical web browsers (Firefox, Chrome, et. al.) that allow the chat participants to view YouTube videos in synchronization with everyone else present (without even needing to set up an account)... and we've decided to use said chatrooms to play cheeseball webvideos and feature-length movies found in the public domain which stretch all the way from letters B to Z, which everyone subsequently riffs on a la MST3K.
For over EIGHT years, everybody who gets involved mostly finds good enjoymentnote in calling out tropes that are recognized in the videos and stories and coming up with jokes to fling back at whatever's happening on the screen, many of which turn into various in-jokes and running gags (a Coven Glossary is kept and maintained for everyone's help and convenience HERE) to repeat in the chat.
We're always looking for new ways to better coordinate and expand our activities and are more than happy to welcome newcomers interested in joining our gatherings.

Hate to double post, but about when should we start the pre-show?
If I don't get an answer by 6:10, I'll try sending messages.

...hopefully that worked.
Well, I've been given the grave responsibility of pressing "play", so:
Right now, we're beginning with our normal trip on the Hoe Bus with Marjoe. Then, in a few minutes, we'll be spending the rest of the hour in the company of strangely cheerful men in suits and cheerfully strange punks as we delve into the world of 90's video game TV shows; American game show Nick Arcade and the British review show Bad Influence.
After that, at the top of the hour, we'll be watching the action/comedy Grand Theft Auto (no relation to the one you're thinking of) - directed by and starring Ron Howard as a man whose attempt to elope to Vegas with his fiancé serves as an excuse for a feature length car chase!

TV Tropes's No. 1 bread themed lesbian. she/her, fae/faerNice post. Liked the "cheerfully strange punks" part.
I'll make some tea and I'll be right there.
Only 6/8 viewers voted, but it was a unanimous , ~Sean Murray I
TV Tropes's No. 1 bread themed lesbian. she/her, fae/faerHot damn, I'm gonna have to check this one out for myself. Sad to have missed it.

Yo. I missed a ★★★★ movie? Dang.
Well, I should be here tomorrow/today (it technically being Sunday in my timezone).
Also, chapter 13 of my book riffing liveblog is up. This time our heroes discover hidden jewels in a cave. Looks like that newspaper article about the jewel thieves that we saw very early in the story was perfect foreshadowing. Who would have ever thought there'd be a relationship between that and the hidden underground tunnel? Of course, that's the least of this book's problems by far.
I'm up for joining Discord servers! PM me if you know any good ones!Well, to go from one piece of excitement from Roger Corman to another.
Tonight, we got Frankenstein Unbound, and time travel is somehow playing a role in the plot.
Watching the AMAZING Video Zone in Nick Arcade last night reminded me of a medieval themed gameshow called Knightmare that used to air on the BBC. Spoony explains exactly what the show was about in his review of it here. It looks like it would be a lot of fun to watch and I know there are episodes on youtube. Maybe we can watch it as part of our preshow some day when we're watching some sword and sorcery flick.
Speaking of Nick Arcade...

Now that I'm back, I gotta think of something for tomorrow. Mankillers wasn't a hit, and therefore I'm assuming that Hell Squad, which is similar, wouldn't be either. Alien Seed, meanwhile, is reserved for a weekend, am I right? Therefore I gotta think of something else.
I'm up for joining Discord servers! PM me if you know any good ones!Maybe something really off the wall?
On another note, though, is it too early to suggest movies for Christmas? 'Cause I have one here...

"They say I'm old fashioned, and live in the past, but sometimes I think progress progresses too fast."One possibility I'm considering is Ghost Shark. There are so many shark movies that it takes something truly absurd to really add a creative new twist. So a shark that's a ghost and can use its ghost powers to appear in any body of water it wants...
I'm up for joining Discord servers! PM me if you know any good ones!Speaking of shark movies, I've found out about a film that takes the plot from Jaws, changes the setting to a golf course, and replaces the shark with a lawnmower. It's called Blades.
We'd need to do some extra work to get our hands on this, though, as it's not on Youtube.

Have we Ever seen Dick Tracey? Is that something we'd be interested in watching sometime?

Okay, first up now is our weekly episode of Lexx. Then, at the top of the coming hour, John Hurt travels back in time and hangs out with none other than Raúl Julia as Dr. Victor Frankenstein in Frankenstein Unbound.

Looking through the list of future movie suggestions, Skatetown USA looks different. A disco-themed musical about skating made in 1979. It's looking like it'll be my choice for Tuesday.

"They say I'm old fashioned, and live in the past, but sometimes I think progress progresses too fast."I was hoping that the monster would lose more limbs so I could make more Monty Python and the Holy Grail jokes.
But alas...
War is God.Well, Thursday is a major holiday that we have off, and presumably Black Friday as well, so my plans for this week extend to Wednesday. And I got ahold of Sharknado. Now there's a classic.
I'm up for joining Discord servers! PM me if you know any good ones!idk about sharknado. isnt it kind of a fake movie, as in it was made to intentionally be bad and funny? not sure how i feel about that sort of thing
i dont know where to start secret movie club for cool pplBlack Friday ain't a holiday, man. We've gathered on that night before, and I'm sure we'll be able to do it again.
Also, forgot to mention it the other day, but, Knowless, all your .gifs have been added to the Gallery.
Lastly, tonight brings us the SyFy Channel Original movie Ghost Shark.

Black Friday is a family day in my family. Many of us have, or take, it off if we can, so something will probably happen then. I don't think we're driving to our vacation house though.
About Sharknado, yeah it was meant to be stupid, but so was The Amazing Bulk, along with some of the other things we've watched. "Meant to be stupid and bad, while also being stupid and bad" doesn't seem to stop us that much.
I'm up for joining Discord servers! PM me if you know any good ones! The world needs more "sci-fi on strings".
I used to love Captain Scarlet (it had better puppetry than Thunderbirds).
That is all.
TV Tropes's No. 1 bread themed lesbian. she/her, fae/faerI feel like Sharknado would be a good one to get people into Synchtube.
I should be there on time tonight. Going out for awhile though.
