Categories plain don't work. Every time it tried to recommend me stuff from "Music," it'd just be a segment of a Dn D game.
So Youtube has finally gotten sick of false DMCA claims and come out big for fair use. They've picked out 4 examples of fair use and put them under their protection as an example, no DMCA claim will be accepted and You Tube are committing one million of their own dollars to help with any legal case that happens.
Apparently they've been fighting off DMCA bullshit from behind the scenes for years, but we only here about the claims that get though and end up being reascended once the Youtuber fights the whole thing off themselves. Obviously You Tube get a bad rep in those cases and would like to have a good reputation, so it's bring this shit public.
Jim Sterling's video on it (one of his videos is one of the ones under protection).
Still hasn't stopped TB having a video under issue due to him using music that he's not only allowed to use, but that is owned by Disney, the owners of his You Tube network. But, progress...?
“And the Bunny nails it!” ~ Gabrael “If the UN can get through a day without everyone strangling everyone else so can we.” ~ CyranWow, I had no idea Sterling has that much power.
Good for you You Tube. You got a lot more things to work on regarding copyright and the Content ID is still the Content ID, but this really is a good move.
Now let's get IHE his Cool Cat review back.
Your works are one trope short.Well done, youtube.
I mean, I still wish you'd stop blocking videos in the US to get people to buy Youtube Red, but, you know, take what you can get, I guess.
I just posted a question in YT's help forum about an incredibly specific issue regarding a long gone account of mine, but perhaps someone here might know the answer: https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/youtube/-dS9KPFcxMs;context-place=forum/youtube
Insert witty 'n clever quip here.So is Youtube Red the only way to watch vids offline/without an internet connection?
#IceBearForPresidentI guess you can download them via KeepVid and watch them later.
Just a person. He/him.Have fun cleaning up your computer and browser
Insert witty 'n clever quip here.I might have to switch from Chrome if it keeps disallowing the cool add-ons like that.
2015 Rewind:
Is the fact that I got almost none of the references this year a sign I've been living under a rock or a sign that the average level of You Tube hits are trending more mainstream than nerd? (My record is only maybe about 50% at the best of times but all I caught onto was gay pride, Back to the Future and one thing I've already forgotten...oh, right, Shiah laBouf.)
Also, were there no songs this year that were really catchy, even on the dumb-but-catchy level of Gangham Style and Call Me Maybe?

Oh look internet personalities are just as successful and popular as the most famous music celebrities. That's questionable.
And how come Markiplier still has his hair pink when breast cancer awareness month is over??!
Hair dye lasts for about 2 months.
"People always say that you should follow your dreams... so I'm going back to bed" -meAnd pink is his signature color, so that's also a reason.
It's been 3000 years…Other references include:
- Mad Max: Fury Road (the tour bus with the guy with the funky guitar on top)
- FNAF (guy in bear suit terrorizing Markiplier, corridors based on FNAF 2's pizzeria)
- Music video of "Elastic Heart" (the dome-shaped cage with people dancing in it)
- Kung Fury (part of the "Just Do It" skit, edited from the future because I forgot about this one)

Expergiscēre cras, medior quam hodie. (Awaken tomorrow, better than today.)Yeah, 2015 was kind of a drought in terms of that.

I think maybe they simply recorded the video while he had pink hair? He has already dyed his hair again, no?
I've only watched it once, but I think I recognized what other people here did, plus Last Week Tonight. And also that other L Per at the end, whose name I'm forgetting right now. Hmm... reading the list, it seems a lot of YouTubers I follow are there. I guess I'll rewatch it and hunt for them.
EDIT: Forgot the Superbowl Shark.

I recognized Pewdiepie at the final rewind part and the Fine Bros of React fame as The Stinger.
It's been 3000 years…I only noticed there was a stinger after I made my post.
And I didn't know there were Easter Eggs. Well, there are. Then I realized the reference to White and Gold versus Black and Blue. When that happened even the news shows were talking about it over here.
Weirdly, one of the easter eggs had been pulled (at the time I watched the video). Odd.
Expergiscēre cras, medior quam hodie. (Awaken tomorrow, better than today.)I've kinda stopped caring about what's popular on You Tube and just watch stuff from people I enjoy, so mostly just a select few Let's Play makers and various other stuff like Tales Of Mere Existence.
Hey, remember when the What The Buck show was a thing? Or when Smosh was funny? (Though, to be fair, I recently rewatched a bunch of Smosh videos from years back...I don't quite find them nearly as funny as teenage me did.)
Insert witty 'n clever quip here.
Today's broken front page recommendation of the day:
Putting the ProtonJon video on Hatoful Boyfriend under the category of "Shooter Games".
...I got nothing.
