Whats the area around Weist like? Deserty, farmland, plains, or what have you?

Mostly grassy plains and farmland, I should think. Given that it's closer to Anilix than Circium, I suppose there would be some semi-arid patches a few hours out in Anilix's direction.

Hmm, if Daltar's second character gets accepted, I might consider rewinding Varlam's starting location to before he leaves the Anilixian capital.

If he heard about a magic user there in the capital, he would likely try visiting them before leaving.

Uh, for those of us in the two capitals, are there...things (?) that we're supposed to do/objectives to complete, or, for now, do we just do whatever?

There will be... But for now, yeah, do what you can. There's a lot of characters for me to keep track of. XD

Hmmm would anyone in the Magic capital have use for an Anilixian hunter/bounty hunter/ possibly assassin?

@daltar: Any Anilixian military-type in Circium, especially in the capitol, would be subject to constant suspicion from police. And given the increasing power of Circium's authorities, there's a good chance he or she would get detained for months on end without charge... You could try and be a part of some kind of underground black market-type thing, but it'd be a hard life.

Hmmm in that case she would only work under the protection of someone powerful... or dropping the bounty hunter angle entirely and dedicate herself to hunting on the Circium's forests.

@daltar: Your choice. If you can make the idea work, just fill out a character sheet. :P

Ahhhrrgg, there are so many characters... Who needs something done/to be interacted with? Also, please put a header at the top of every post to tell me/us where and when you are. :)

Anyway, I'm still considering where to start Varlam. Either in Takei having just finished visiting those workshop owners, then make his way towards that park; or approaching Weist already.

@Taco: There was no "massive explosion", not one that could knock a person off their feet from a different building in another part of town, at any rate... :/

I've already said what it is in my first post. He's pretty much putting his head on a plate.

Will do. Only did otherwise since I assumed that it was only for those with multiple characters.

I need a hook for Ferruccio but I can wait until tomorrow. He hit the restaurant some other PC did but I didn't push interaction.

Ferrus is a pretty dramatic dude, he was putting on his boots—so he was leaned forward—he wasn't expecting it, and since he just put his armor on he wasn't fully balanced yet. Also, I wanted to make sure he was following up on a plot hook as obvious as that. However, I did recorrect it to a 'booming noise or somesuch.' Not only does it make him more LIKE A SIR, but it also makes it sound less massive.

Is there any specific way magic works in this? It's something I've been wondering for some time...

@Collen: Uh... Magic works... By magic? How can I explain magic? It's magic! :P

As I said in the rules, though, it is not an infinitely versatile tool that anyone can bend to their every whim. You have to learn new things before you can do them, and no-one masters things immediately. Also, casting spells costs energy, which takes a moment or two to regenerate, so no spamming powerful stuff.

So kind of like Eragon or Shadowrun's magic system? Magic is cast from personal constitution, and the caster's thaumic power's directly drawn from how much drain they can take?

Cool. I like systems like that in games, because not only does it discourage minmaxed squishy wizards, but it actually to a certain extent removes that Vancian Magic bullshit.

Oh yeah, and there's also runes and etc. The more complex the rune, the more time it takes, the more powerful it is.
