The top 10:

  1. A cappuccino has fewer calories than a latte
  2. Darker, richer tasting coffees have more antioxidants than lighter, weaker ones
  3. Dark chocolate has more antioxidants than milk or white chocolate
  4. Whole eggs contain minerals and vitamins that so-called-healthy egg whites or egg beaters don't
  5. Olive oil tastes better than butter/crisco/lard
  6. Dark leafy greens are better than iceberg or romaine lettuce (even if you don't particularly like dark greens, you can admit that iceberg and romaine are just nasty)
  7. Blueberries and strawberries are better for you than an apple a day
  8. Gelato has half the fat of ice cream
  9. Sweet potatoes and yams contain antioxidants that regular potatoes don't
  10. Skim or 1% milk tastes better in cereal than 2% or whole (Though I will concede that 2% and whole milk taste better in coffee)

I happen to enjoy romaine. And iceberg isn't gross, it's just horrifically unflavorful. And the egg whites are the best part unless you're mixing them up in an omelette or something.

But everything else is basically true. And awesome. :3

Lately, I've been experimenting quite a bit with soy-based meat substitutes; and in pasta sauces, they are actually pretty good if you prepare them right — they taste nothing like meat, of course, but they are very nice after their own fashion.

But they seem to know where they are going, the ones who walk away from Omelas.

.The problem with dark coffee and dark chocolate is that they're disgustingly bitter.

Iceberg lettuce is really just an excuse to eat whatever toppings and dressings you put on it.

Pah, rocket salad is clearly the superior choice as far as leafy greens are concerned.

Now, 2, 3, 5 and 9 may be healthier than the counterparts you listed, but I wholly disagree with the idea that they are tastier and better.

Wait, there is a difference in English between "gelato" and "ice cream?"

As far as I know, "gelato" is simply the Italian name for ice cream...

It's fancy high class ice cream with different texture.

As for salads...There's this Thai fruit salad thing I must learn to make. It was fucking amazing. Jicama I believe...Nice mix of all flavors with a spicy tinge to it...

IT IS DISTINCTLY THAI.

I think I prefer frozen yogurt over ice cream.

I agree with everyone who said dark chocolate is better than chocolate, although sometimes I get a craving for a bar of milk chocolate.

Also, I think diet ginger ale tastes much better than non-diet ginger ale, which is the complete opposite of how I feel about every other soda in existence.

Mmmmm, dark chocolate. Also I prefer stewed apples over typical dessert foods.

I take a can of La Croix (expensive sparkling water).

I add juice, usually grape (or if I'm really bored, lemonade powder).

I am happy.

I wouldn't go so far as to say carob is better than chocolate, but it's nearly as good.

I really do like well-made soy burgers. The patties are larger and easier to chew, and they taste great.

I'm allergic to chocolate. My son is allergic to sweet potato.

[up] totally agree! Homemade Pizza is the only way I can get my veggies loaded and roasted right.

Turkey is healthier than chicken when roasted. Coconut oil, olive oil, and vegtable oil all have the same amount of calories per spoonful, but coconut oil has the least amount of fats. Whole wheat is just awesome to me, but I am a bread freak. I also make my own granola and energy bars.

What I can't stand is when people claim something like a dessert is healthy because it uses a different oil or replaces sugar with a substitute when you're just making something that just won't kill you as fast as the traditional way.

Or that 1.4 million people are going gluten free without actually being diagnoised with cialic disease.

Rolled oats are actually more filling than quick oats (I don't know how much healthier rolled are than quick or instant, but they are less processed).
