This cover of Princes of the Universe from Highlander the Source is starting to grow on me that way, it may be due to the instrumental being pretty decent, it might not have been half bad if the singer actually put some soul into it.

RE: The Cheeky Girls. That has to be a parody, right? I know whenever I ask British people about them, veins start popping out in their foreheads and they rage about how horrible they are but...I laughed myself into a coughing fit the first time I saw that video. The lyrics are so ludicrously inane and the video is so campy that I simply cannot believe that it’s not all one big joke.

[up] I first heard that song when it was posted in a similar thread in a different forum years ago - I remember the person who posted it said they came out of a singing competition show and were basically like William Hung except with actual hit singles, and the wikipedia article kind of bears that out. So I'd guess that the video is meant as a joke, but the song actually isn't.

[up][up]That song is just painful to me. I can't even listen to it. It's a little funny, but the pain far outweighs any humor I could get out of it.

The Statler Brothers did some wonderful Stylistic Suck music/skits as Lester Moran Roadhog and the Cadillac Cowboys.

Speaking of Stylistic Suck, what about Jonathan and Darlene Edwards? Actually Jo Stafford and her husband Paul Weston masquerading as a talentless lounge act, deliberately singing and playing off-key and out-of-sync. For example:

Aw, I kinda like Cibo Matto. But I have weird / bad taste in music sometimes. However, they're not always that abrasive.

I might have already mentioned this song, but I think it's worth mentioning again. Kirko Bangz's "Drank in my Cup" is just so perfect in its awfulness. It almost sounds like he recorded it drunk. My dad (who majorly hates Drake) even said it was worse than Drake!

Peace is the only battle worth waging.

Mark Prindle's facebook page introduced me to forgotten Spin Doctors single "What Time Is It?" I mainly nominate it for it's comically inane, yet earwormy hook:

What time is it?
Four thirt-ay!
It's not late, no! no!
Just-a ear-lay, ear-lay, ear-lay!
