Any news on Hillenburg involvement?

Well, it looks legitimate. Unfortunately.

As someone who actually still likes Spongebob, I'm incredibly apprehensive about this.

Well, that's the end, then, is it?

It's been a good run, my porous yellow chum.

Hoping for another David Hasselhoff cameo.

[up] It's never the end. That's the terrifying thing about it all.

...The first movie was supposed to be the end. This is a sequel to the first movie.

It just keeps on going...and going...and going...

Nobody told me the first movie was supposed to be the end.

I assumed it was a new beginning!

Well, I like to think this second movie will be of higher quality than the recent TV episodes (not that I've really kept up with it much at all). I mean... it is a for-theaters movie. And if they're going as far as to release another one, that's gotta be the final end.

Is it being done with Hillenburg? No? Then I'm considering it not within the Spongecanon.

"Why is everyone criticizing the film without even knowing anything about it? Maybe it will be as good or better than the first."

Yeah, OR maybe it will be every other goddamned episode after the first film.

[up] & [up][up]

Really?

The first Spongebob movie was the high point of the series. Sure, there were some good episodes afterward, but they never reached the goodness their precedents set.

Especially the episodes from Casey Alexander and Zeus Cerevas. Those were horrible.

Also, is the movie supposed to be "Spongebob Squarepants The Movie 2" or "The Movie Spongebob Squarepants 2"? 'Cause that's the vibe I'm getting from the poster.

The new episodes aren't that bad. In my eyes, they're just dumb fun, compared to the older ones.

But yeah, i think they went too far with this one. Remember, though, we must always give something a chance to surprise us.

I have hope. We got a good Simpsons movie dispite when it was made.

I wondered why you didn't just post a link to the Wiki article instead of the image itself. And when reading it, I found out why: the main Spongebob Wiki article doesn't even mention this movie yet! Now that just makes me confused.

Spongebob is good, but not for people trying to make a living in animation. "For every Spongebob episode that premieres, a show is cancelled."

This doesn't need to happen. Ever.

The first movie SHOULD have been the series finale, finally giving Spongebob a heroic redemption and ending my childhood peacefully. Making another movie is literally the least good idea they have come up with for the series so far, and I say that having had to watch the latest season in it's entirety with my 7yo step sister over the summer... *buh*

God I hated the first spongebob movie. For me, that marked when the series started to go wrong. I can't see this being good at all.
