Nightmare Fuel cleanup

Okay, I've moved some of the comic book subpages to the NF page. I'll do more tonight.

Whoa, time to catch a breath here. Digging down there had me running out of *wheeze* air.

Okay, ladies and gentlemen, witness the first example of Example Lobotomy at work: the all-new *wheeze* Nightmare Fuel Kingdom Hearts page, now natter-free!

Pretty proud of how it turned out, actually. Shorter and better. Too bad it took me two hours, but meh. If we can save Nightmare Fuel I can pull this off whenever it's needed.

Now I have to go to sleep: remember, it's 2 AM now in Italy and... well, I'm sleepy.

Looking forward to feedback for the Lobotomized page.

Halfway through Nightmare Fuel/Animals. Hell, I'd seen TROPER TALES pages with less natter than this. It's looking salvageable though.

Put {{}} around Animals in when you want to link to it.

FINALLY cleaned most of the worst Natter and This Troper and pseudo-Troper Tales out of /Nightmare Fuel/Animals. I think there may still be a few first person comments floating around in there, but I've got most of it, wiped most of the third and fourth level bullets and dupe entries, etcetera. Will go over it in a bit when my brain works again.

For those afraid to tackle the Nightmare Fuel pages themselves, plenty of wicks need to be redirected or removed, especially for High Octane Nightmare Fuel. Lots of YMMV pages at least need the High Octane portion removed.

It's easy to do if your browser has a find text feature (likely under the Edit section). If everyone did a few, we'd get the wick numbers down pretty quickly.

Wait, we're supposed to be getting rid of HONF entries even on YMMV pages?

"Change correct High Octane Nightmare Fuel wicks to Nightmare Fuel."

This isn't quite as necessary, admittedly, but we should make it obvious that Nightmare Fuel is the trope to use for the Audience Reaction of being scared. It would also reduce confusion, since it would otherwise seem like HONF was the Audience Reaction for "super scary" stuff.

That's the way I interpreted it. Apologies if I've misunderstood.

The ones on regular trope pages (save definitions and in-universe stuff) need to be removed regardless.

Ahh, /Cosmic Horror Eschatology And What Comes After was an easy cleanup. I wonder if someone else got to it before me and I just needed to change the page, which I did, or if the posters on here were more well-behaved than the ones on Animals re natter and this troper. If it's the latter, I want to congratulate them for saving my desk from having my head bashed into it.

Moved HighOctaneNightmareFuel.Planescape Torment to NightmareFuel.Planescape Torment. No real cleanup was necessary.

Cleaned up, folderized and moved HighOctaneNightmareFuel.Yume Nikki to NightmareFuel.Yume Nikki.

• NightmareFuel/ = 62

The HighOctaneNightmareFuel/ pages that have ten or less inbounds can be put on the cutlist, once the wicks are moved.

I've been making the HONF pages that I've come across into redirects to the NF pages...should they all be cutlisted, or just the ones with 10 or fewer inbounds?

Answering some questions:

If you come across an example written in first person and you can't figure out how to rewrite it, axe it. However, if it's as simple as deleting the last sentence or rewriting a few words, do that.

On that note, if you come across the horrible formation "no mention of X?" or "how about X?" or "how did we get this far without mentioning X?", kill it with fire. Rewrite that sucker.

There's no time limit on this, but if it peters out and comes back to the TRS for repairs later, I can't guarantee that Eddie won't get rid of it for being a pain in the ass like ANF.

All the Nightmare Fuel pages were nuked, not just Brawl In The Family. As I said upthread, if there's one you want restored, feel free to post here or PM me, and I'll restore it to the last version and unlock it if I can (not all can be restored, sadly). Please don't ask unless you plan to clean it, though.

Wicks on YMMV should be changed from ANF to NF or moved to the NF namespace, not deleted. If you see someone outright deleting them, report them here or on Ask The Tropers.

Once again, to move a page, check out How to Move a Page. It's really simple. Don't forget to ask to get the discussion page moved if it exists.

Cutlisting HONF subpages with less than 10 inbounds is fine, but it hurts nothing to make them a redirect.

Whew. Hope I got em all.

Actually, if you make a HONF page a redirect to an NF page, you end up with two different tabs which have the same material on a work's page. Naruto, for instance. Can we get Eddie to kill the ANF namespace tab?
