Cause this needs to get done, and a couple of people working on +10,000 wicks just won't cut it.
What needs to be done:
- Clean up every HONF page, removing first person, this troper, context-less examples, etc.
- After being cleaned, move the page to the Nightmare Fuel namespace. If it is locked, you can ask for it to be unlocked here. See How to Move a Page for more information.
- Remove all wicks to Nightmare Fuel, High Octane Nightmare Fuel, and Accidental Nightmare Fuel that do not appear on a YMMV page, a Nightmare Fuel page, or a trope description.
- Change correct High Octane Nightmare Fuel wicks to Nightmare Fuel.
Add finished pages to the sandbox page so we can keep track.

Axe Hentai examples. All of us agree that the problematic examples from cut series need to leave and Hentai Nightmare Fuel can only be that.
"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerI hit the most obvious ones...might have missed something.
Thanks; you got all the ones I spotted. Thanks for the extra clean-up help, as well.
I'll continue working on straightening things up there.
NightmareFuel.Anime is roughly done. I'm sure there's some little stuff here and there I've missed, but it's certainly much easier to navigate than it was before.

The NightmareFuel.Comic Books page has been reorganized. The DC and Marvel sections still need some heavy natter / This Troper clean-up. Also, if someone more familiar with comic books than me would go through and double check that things are in the right place; I did my best to fact-check, but I'm sure I've slipped up somewhere.
edit: Cleaning done. Still would appreciate a run-through by someone to make sure it's all in the right places.

Tackling the next biggun': NightmareFuel.Literature. Holy crap, what a mess.
I've started roughly breaking down things into sections by Author, Single Works, and Series. They'll be folderized eventually, but for now I'm leaving them "open" to make things easier to move around. If there is some major outcry against this method of organization (or suggestions for improvement) let me know and I'll make the needed changes; I'm not very far in, so it should be easy to fix at this point. I've already shifted a fair amount off and onto their own NF works pages, and will continue to do so as I go through.
I notice the Alastair Reynolds NF page has been locked. Is this part of the earlier NF issues, or is there something else ongoing with the page? Either way, there's some entries that need to be moved from the main Literature page.
The other complication is I will be away for a week starting Saturday, so I won't be around to continue the clean-up for a while. If someone would like to lend a hand, it would be most appreciated.
Oh, and if someone wants a nice, long-term NF project to work on, go check out NightmareFuel.Video Games.

on it, is the main prob 'This Trooper' crap or moving stuff? casue it looks like everything is moved. Also, don't know much about some of those games so I'll only fix the games I do know about.

All our wishes can come trueThe main problem is first person (including This Troper), Zero Context Examples, weblinks as examples, and Word Cruft. Moving to individual pages is nice, but not necessary.
Waiting on a TRS slot? Finishing off one of these cleaning efforts will usually open one up.Also, as always, trying to fix grammar, such as improper use of ellipsis, and getting rid of unneeded bolding and italics. A little bit is okay; but an entry shouldn't have every other word like this.
The moving is to make it more user-friendly, but also to see what belongs and what doesn't. It's much easier to spot repeated entries and stuff with its own page already if it's got some kind of order to it.

Also, this - to make sure that no new pages are being created under HighOctaneNightmareFuel/.
BTW, I wonder if we should just hard-redirect HighOctaneNightmareFuel/ to NightmareFuel/ - just as ItJustBugsMe/ is hard-redirected to Headscratchers/.

Hmm...that's odd. New Nightmare Fuel pages are showing up as red on the NightmareFuel.Literature page, but the links work. Has something changed, like NF stuff been redlinked for some reason? Or am I just really out of practice after being on vacation for a week?
There's a bug with new pages showing as red links. It's being looked into.
Waiting on a TRS slot? Finishing off one of these cleaning efforts will usually open one up.Thanks. I thought I was depressed, as the Nightmare Fuel page for Brain Dead 13 is suddenly red-linked, even though it is still full.
Okay, a bit of help or suggestion would be nice here. There are a couple issues I'm constantly running into on NightmareFuel.Literature.
The first is "I don't remember the name of this story, but..." Quite a few of these, and while they're all valid examples of Nightmare Fuel, they're impossible to categorize because, well, they have no name. I'm thinking of leaving them in an unsorted section in case someone does come along and remember the name, but I wanted to be sure this was okay.
The second problem is far more rampant and is what is making the page so gigantic and hard to navigate in the first place. There are a lot of entries, particularly for short stories or books without their own page, where basically the entire plot of the story is summarized. Aside from hosting the usual overabundance of spoiler tags, ellipses, and italics (i.e. "And then... the head of the alien appears by exploding from his chest!), they are quite large. Now, I'm all for detail in writing, but I have a feeling that this tends against the whole brevity thing TV Tropes tends to favor. Should some healthy cuts need to be made to these entries, paring them down to the actual horrible bits?

My vote: Cut anything that can't be referenced directly to a work, and cut as much as you need to get the main gist of the entry across.
I would agree with that.
Agree as well.
On another topic: Someone needs to watch the High Octane Nightmare Fuel Related page. I can't do that myself all the time.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanI've been lax on that...I'll try to make some time to hit those this coming week, but it'll have to be in the evenings.
Same for Accidental Nightmare Fuel. I'd do this now but my laptop seems to hate wicks today.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanJust cleaned up several entries. I'll hit it from time to time if I remember to.

At some point, the notice "This page is for Nightmare Fuel Literature examples that do not have their own Works page. Examples from Works already on TV Tropes should go on the existing Nightmare Fuel pages indexed above or on a work's YMMV page." was put up on the NightmareFuel.Literature page. I don't recall such a decision being reached in this thread, and it seems contrary to wiki policy.
All examples are supposed to be accessible from both the works page and the trope page. This means that either all Nightmare Fuel examples need to be put in a work-specific Nightmare Fuel subpage, which is then indexed on the correct media's Nightmare Fuel subpage, or examples need to be listed both on the work's YMMV page and the Nightmare Fuel subpage.
That would be my bad, then, and I apologize; I thought as long as it was on a page somewhere, it was fine. That means we (and by that, most likely I) need to go back and make a lot of Nightmare Fuel subpages.
Part of the problem is the page was so long and unorganized it was difficult to navigate and was essentially functionless. Having subpages will at least put things in some kind of order. Literature is so far is the hardest of the large NF pages I've cleaned because it just has so many entries that don't have a works page to move entries to.
I'd appreciate any other help or suggestions in organizing and cleaning the page; I'll hold off on doing any more until a consensus is reached.
As far as I can see most of the stuff has been fixed. There have been some Nightmare Fuel pages for The Legend of Zelda that were de-indexed and blanked for no reason, so I restored them with an Example Lobotomy (for those not in the know, see the concept/draft here). Other than that, I contributed next-to-nothing to this cleanup lately (which is a huge step down from, well, this), so, my question is - given I'm going to sleep now due to the local timezone (2.45 AM)... can anyone bottom-line the status of the cleanup for me?
Thanks in advance and sorry for my current lack of usefulness.
I'm from Piedmont. No relation with Piedmon, mind you!
I'll leave them for the time being, then. Should I post my question elsewhere to get a proper consensus? I'm sure this issue will come up again.
