Your avatar is traveling around with his/her sidekick, when you spot the above avatar. Your avatars' sidekick remarks "What a strange person", when the above avatar spots the two and comes over. After a "Long time no see", your avatars' sidekick looks at your avatar and utters "You know each other?". With a sheepish half-grin, your avatar recounts how s/he met the above avatar...

So, how did the two meet?

We met fighting the Space Nazis

We ended up rulers of Space Australia but we fled.

Yup fled by badass ship. It was nice girl talks on that way...

(yup she got upgrade to sail in space, I decided that)

We helped each other out of some dumpsite. don't ask how we got there.

Ran into her when a magical mishap landed me in Gensokyo. She directed me to Marisa, who directed me to Reimu, who got me in touch with Yukari so I could get back home. Craziest week of my life.

I found him wandering around the Forest of Magic, so I approached him and gave him directions to Marisa's house. I was too busy at that time.
