It's probably because you have all these thrilling and cute options for badges and then...a towel. Really, who wants to draw a towel?

Well, aside from me, I mean...

I'm pretty sure no one's copyrighted a towel with the number 42 on it. Same with turtles...

The towels and the chess set are up. Black ones have quotes but some of the white ones are lacking them.

I love the Pratchett quotes you picked with the chess pieces. But maybe it's obvious I would love them, seeing as I have Vimes as my avatar...

Damn, towels move fast. Didn't even have time to caption them... and those work so well, I refuse to offer alternate suggestions.

But hey, chess pieces. I note that we have two sets pawns on the list (White Pawn/Black Pawn and Pawn Blanc/Pawn Noir). We probably only need one of each. We also have two Black Rooks (Black Rook and Rook Noir).

EDIT: Also, to echo what other folks have said, you can't copyright towels in general or a number in general. Now, a specific design or font choice with that number, sure. But that towel design is original, so it's fine. Though entertainingly enough, since that design was made original for this site, I think TV Tropes would potentially have the right to defend against a similar towel design, if it was so inclined.

The default captions for the Badges are great, but for some reason I decided very early on that I'd make my own captions anyway. If you haven't noticed my personalised captions I assure you they are most witty.

I obsessively read everyone's captions. Partly in vanity to see who just kept the ones I wrote (in the case where I wrote them), and partly to see what other witty things folks come up with.

I like to think this is to get my creepy impulses satisfied without actually doing anything creepy.

In the Mod discussions I'm always annoying everyone by talking about Finland constantly. In light of this I've decided to wear the Finland trilogy in my badge collection for a while.

There's a reason you're the one person who has a badge shop badge without actually making any badges. You're an important part of marketing.

@2636 I know, and I'm very appreciative of it (especially because my reason for not making any badges is the standard "I'm terrible at art" one).

@Shim:Oi! You are forgetting someone there! Just because I haven't been active in here for quite a while, I still have it on my watchlist and have one for helping get everything set-up! /humor-angry-with-a-grin

I don't think I will ever change the alt-text for my badge. Other badges (if I ever get them >_>), sure, but not the Badge badge. I take too much pride in it.

Random thought: Change the thread to "Badge discussion"? They are hardly "new" now and I originally did the all-caps thing just to catch people's attention while they were new.

I'm still waiting on some of the heraldry badge but I'll try to make new ones if I have the time if need be.

Looks like the Command Prompt badge is misspelled.

The default caption also doesn't need the comma.

Houston, we have a problem. Apparently, someone sent me a badge for my collection... Unfortunately, nothing appears on said page when I go to check it.

Also, whenever I click the "Buy Tropies" on the Badge Shop the message "Sorry, we couldn't match your login information." immediately appears.

I am a bit of a derp, I used the worng donate button, I think...

Does one get tropies for donations on the main site button?

No, you get ads suspended last I checked.
