This thread is for general discussion of page quotes, whether to change, move or remove them.
Unused quotes should be put on a Quotes Wiki page (just replace the namespace in the URL of the wiki page you are making a quotes page for with Quotes/) or, if they don't have an article, on Quotes Looking for an Article.
Image captions are discussed elsewhere and have their own thread in the Image Pickin' forum.

I also agree the quote should be removed.
As I mentioned before the page quote on Shallow Love Interest is not about that trope but about Hair Color stereotypes. May I remove it without replacing it?
Seconding that removal.

Oppression anywhere is a threat to democracy everywhere.Actually, despite the potholes, I think it is about that trope. I think the point that the article was making was that love interests need characterization beyond what they look like.
That said, I would support swapping it and the first quote (from Speed) on the quotes page.

I agree.
The Speed quote says nothing about lack of personality.
The current page quote is no better. It doesn't mention love interests and even without the potholes it sounds like it's referring to stereotypical personality rather than no personality.
If complaining quotes weren't banned there would be better options on the quote page. The last sentence of the Sonichu review and the Roger Ebert quote are about the trope. The George Elliot quote does too though it's long, and it also has the advantage of not mentioning any specific work.

Why Couldn't You Be Different? and Have You Tried Not Being a Monster? currently have the same quote.
I think The Fray song lyrics from the quotes page would be best for Why Couldn't You Be Different?, but that's just my opinion.
Expergiscēre cras, medior quam hodie. (Awaken tomorrow, better than today.)I agree with swapping the Why Couldn't You Be Different? current page quote and the Fray quote.
+1 to swap for the Fray lyrics.
Consider that quote swapped out, then.
Expergiscēre cras, medior quam hodie. (Awaken tomorrow, better than today.)So can I delete the King and I complaint quote?
Oppression anywhere is a threat to democracy everywhere.I think this might be a good page quote for Dawson Casting
"Hollywood Secret: If you put a 30-year-old in a letterman jacket, he's 16 again." -Vanessa Ramos
It's a tweet from a tv comedy writer. If not, we could just add it to the quotes page for that trope.

Counterpart Comparison needs a new quote. The current one isn't about counterparts, isn't a comparison, and even in context makes less sense. Even in the article the only reference to the show the quote is from is a fandom joke that... honestly doesn't fit the trope either.
Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them.@213: Yes, but move the old to the quotes tab.
@214: Actually, that looks good to me.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanIt strikes me as no more a Counterpart Comparison than accidentally calling Bob "Chris" because you never bothered to learn their name. It's just My Name Is Durwood, not a Counterpart Comparison.
Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them.I have removed the page quote from Shallow Love Interest.
We had two votes for putting the Speed quote (top of the quotes page) in in its place and one vote against. Any opinions from others?

Sherlock Scan's quote is way too long. Does any body have a shorter idea?
"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerThe Feet Of Clay quote caught my eye immediately.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanFor Sherlock Scan, given that the pic caption has one, I don't really see a need for the quote at all.
Would anyone else support switching the quote on Black Dude Dies First back to the trope-naming quote from Evolution? I've never liked it when we have an internet reviewer quote instead of an actual quote from a work that does it more succinctly. It seems really wrong to have a Nostalgia Critic quote there instead of the one that named the trope.
We're not just men of science, we're men of TROPE!Both page quotes of It Gets Better are about Growing the Beard in general rather than tedious exposition.

I think the existing quote (the Nostalgia Critic one) does a better job illustrating the trope. The Evolution quote is too specific.

I would absolutely support that. I mean, come on, people.

Crown Description:
What should be the page quote for Monster.Fan Works?
+1 to remove that quote.
