Still working on SS Ch. 3.

So, the current plan for Joker is to make him even more nihilistic than in canon, basically taking his Hope Crusher schtick Up To Eleven. I'm shooting for making the readers' skin crawl when he starts talking about the meaninglessness of existence, and as he does so, he stops smiling.

I'll get around to reading it sometime. To be honest, Joker doesn't usually interest me much as a character; maybe I'm just tired of antagonists with little motivation beyond generic insanity and villainy. (This isn't a comment on your characterization of Joker, just on the character in general.)

I'm actually trying to give him a bit more character in this story... going from just sadism and insanity to extreme nihilism, with actual evidence to back up this new viewpoint. Sorta injecting some Kefka into him, I guess.

Nihilism in villains isn't usually very interesting, either. I like nihilism in heroes a lot more.

Well, we'll see how it goes. Don't take my vague opinions too seriously, especially before I've actually read what you've written.

I'm on page 4 of Pioneer Part 2. Aiming to get it done by next week.

You guys might be interested to know that the story is deviating a bit from what I originally had in mind... but hey, inspiration has struck, and I like the direction it's going. I'm on page 6 now.

Is it really blatant in this part? How it has changed I mean.

Nah, not really.

If you're curious, I was originally going to give bigger roles to the clones of the other Pleiades, but I decided to focus on Nico's interactions with little Kanna instead.

Excellent, thanks for finishing it. It was pretty much what I was expecting, but seeing it written out gives closure to the old universe. (By the way, did you just forget to mark it as "complete", or is there still an epilogue or something planned?)

Dammit, yeah, I forgot. Thanks for pointing that out, it's fixed now.

So... how 'bout this redesign, huh? Money well spent.

The style looks a bit awkward right now, but I suspect the backend changes will be very good in the long run. From what I recall, the old site design had a big problem with mixing presentation and content (which is pretty common with websites that grow over a long period of time without major redesigns), and if they untangle that, it'll make customization and further improvements a lot easier. I'm especially looking forward to some of the proposed changes to the trope and example pages, such as putting tropes and examples in a database that can be more easily organized and cross-referenced.

Edit: Also, my custom CSS makes it green instead of blue.

My best friend's MLP fanfic, The Changeling of the Guard, has just been featured on Equestria Daily. This is his first fanfic in a LOOOONG time, and I've been proofing and helping him edit with his story just as he does with all mine. It's a really fantastic fic that deserves the honor of being featured, and I'm not just saying that because I have a personal bias... though that is a factor. XD

It's been an exhausting couple weeks, but I'm back to working on SS Chapter 4. We're pretty much snowed in at the moment, so I have a feeling I may finish and post it tomorrow. Fingers crossed...

Chapter's done! I'm just waiting on my proofreader's input, then I'll post it.
