Both Toei series and direct counterparts to each other :P.

For all the badassness of Precure All Stars they are cheap Bat Family Crossover Fanservice to where everyone is reduced to their Greatest Hits version of themselves with plenty of errors. (Michru and Kaoru, Itsuki's hair etc.)

BTW I still like them for their well badassness and a chance to see everyone again but it is a shameless cash-ins.

Favorite Villains? Poisonee, Kintolesky, Michiru and Kaoru (pre Heel–Face Turn), Desparaiah, Bunbee, Dark Dream, Anacondy, Labyrinth trio and Northa, Kumajocky, Noise, and Joker.

Noise reminds me so much of Beelzemon it's not funny. Also, I like Noise/Hibiki as much as Beelzemon/Taiki. And what's up with Toei and pairing The Hero with winged black-clad Heel–Face Turn -ing Anti-Villain? Not that I'm complaining.

Also, as the subbed version of Fresh Pretty Cure reached episode 45, who else already prepared for Westar and Soular's "death" in the next episode?

I actually managed to avoid almost all Fresh spoilers until three seconds ago (Damn my weak resolve!).

Not really. Ultimate Madoka is a goddess while the thing from the final of Heartcatch is not.

Let's not start that here, Seriously, it's going to just lead to a flamewar.... If your going to talk about references and shit make them real ones like the Fresh Precure crew showing up in Maria Holic and Cure Black in Bakemonogatari.

Heartcatch Precure is as dark as we need to go here....

As for Cure Angie not much is known about her, she is just the first cure to protect the world tree (and based on Norse mythology.)

Meh, not really.

And besides, I'm just bored waiting for the next episode of Smile Pretty Cure to be subbed. Nothing wrong with a few derails now and then until it comes along.

Well the raw is out so expect subs soon. (and ep 11 shrinking Precure..... they went there of all places? I expect it to be funny but still.)

Doremi won't have their subs out until Tuesday so I'm waiting. In the meantime I'm slowly watching my way through Yes Pretty Cure 5 as well as Suite Precure.

How far are ya in 5? Opinions of it?

I'm only up to episode 15. Should be finished sometime next week if I keep watching 3 episodes a day. As for opinions I can definitely see the influences it has on Smile (introduction order, lack of theme naming in the Cure names as opposed to seasons like Suite and Heartcatch, etc.) and I like all the Cures though I'm having a hard time deciding between Urara, Karen, and Nozomi in terms of a favorite.

I mean Karen has my favorite civilian design and I like her in general but Nozomi and Urara are tied for favorite Cure design and I like them enough to consider them potential favorites as well. Komachi and Rin are also cool though neither of them are potential favorites as I haven't seen enough of Komachi and Rin does not appeal to me enough to be a favorite despite being a rather good character.

Coco and Nuts are cool but their Verbal Tics are a bit annoying. Much like Komachi I haven't seen enough of Nuts to get much of a feel for him. From what I hear Coco and Nozomi are the only canon couple in the franchise (or at least they have feelings for each other) and while I'd be okay with that if Coco wasn't her teacher/too old for her physically that is a bit much for my taste. Other than that Coco is rather funny and I find him rather likable.

As for the Nightmare I still don't understand their goal or why they don't give up on the Dream Collect and try to accomplish it some other way. Maybe they do later but for now they seem to be not nearly as good a group as the Desert Messengers, Minor Trio or that of Smile in terms of getting things accomplished. Yes they seem more threatening than the other three with the possible exception of Smile's group of villains but their constant attempts to get the Dream Collect seem to be weighing them down.

All in all I rather like it so far but really hope the Nightmares move on to another goal sometime soon.

@Chariot: The four Cures other than Cure Dream have a theme of their names referring to their theme colors. Rouge is French for "red," lemonade is normally yellow (except for pink lemonade), mint things are associated with the color green and aqua is, well, Water Is Blue.

I'm excited for the shrinking Cures story. I liked the shrinking Cures story from Go Go and thus I'm pretty sure I'd like Smile's take on it. If I were to guess, it would possibly be caused by one of Majorina's magical items like the rings that caused a "Freaky Friday" Flip. She just seems like the one who would likely have plans that not only involve using Akanbe, but doing things to the Cures that would interfere with their fighting ability.
