Speaking of which, the page move from Mahou Tsukai Pretty Cure to Maho Girls Pretty Cure! as per How to Create a Work's Page is complete.
"Yup. That tasted purple."I'll just link my initial thoughts on Mahopre while I wait for subs to come out.

Helpful Scripts and Stylesheets here.Loving the recent enemies Dyspear and her crew were cool and this bad guy seems pretty intelligent.

Mileena MadnessTime to Go away from the province of royalty into the world of magic. Op is good. They're starting off fast. Mirai reminds me of Megumi the most. Well if they have to emulate this type for the seventh time that's not a bad choice. Riko is great. She's going to be the star easily. Not very good at this whole secrecy thing though. Though it looks like they'll be public figures this time. Riko half-succeeds with her magic, which is a good starting point. I like the villain's visuals. Mirai has some good instincts. I think I'll like her. Riko hasn't yet figured out that friendship is magic. Transformation is just kind of okay. Though seeing how they did it without any prompting was pretty cool. They both seem to have some good instincts, seeing how they seemed to be in a daze when they The ending was beautiful.
We've got an interesting premise, likable characters, and a strong sense of fun. Great first episode. I've got hopes for this one.

Mirai reminds me of a more competent Haruka, personally. What about her is giving you Megumi vibes? You're not the first person to say she reminds them of Megumi the most but I just don't see it.
Damn, the new series has started… But I can't find it… I must continue Heartcatch too…

Helpful Scripts and Stylesheets here.I love the new OP. Also, the ending having them use their brooms as fake guitars is literally the most adorable thing ever.
The *Legendary* Super Saiyan is motivated by a crying infant! He is a literal giant f***ing baby!I do rather like the constant talking about falling in the episode.
Helpful Scripts and Stylesheets here.So about Mirai, she reminds me more of Megumi because she has more self-confidence in herself, fangirls hard at the sight of magic, and has a relationship with Riko that seems to mirror Megumi/Hime. Though of course she resembles Haruka given that they're still basically the same archetype. Just like the 3 that came before them.
You'd think they'd get bored of having the same kind of lead 5 times in a row, but apparently not. Mirai seems like a decent spin at least, and Riko isn't an obvious clone, but they still need more variety.
Magical's hair is ridiculous. In a good way.
I see. Mirai's fangirling reminds me more of Haruka's love for princesses than Megumi's fangirling over Precure based off the RAWs though seeing Doremi's subs might change my impression of her.
Megumi didn't really have any self confidence though? Like that was the entire point of her fight with Unlovely and that episode where she tried to force herself to obtain Innocent Mode. That she was basically covering up her insecurities by pretending to be self confident. Granted Mirai seems pretty lonely and lacking in self confidence as well. I think I saw mention of her not having any friends while I was watching it live yesterday. I have to wait on subs to be sure though but that does fit the impression I got from a few scenes.
I'm curios as to which of the pair fit the roles of Megumi/Hime for you. Especially since neither of them seem particularly shy to me.
I watched Shimakaze's subs and I feel they're pretty good, better than the Precure subs I watched before, generally.
I think this might be the best first episode of the Precure series. Character development, world building, introducing a whole bunch of concepts as well as mysteries, all at once.
Helpful Scripts and Stylesheets here.So far it is reminding me more of Fresh than anything else. Especially the lead's fangirling and her relationship with her mom.
Megumi had her issues, but they weren't immediately apparent from the first episode. Maybe implications, but nothing more yet, just like Mirai in all likelihood.
This was one of the better first episodes. Heartcatch and Happiness Charge also had some of the stronger first episodes, so 50/50 on how it turns out.
So far the shows that focused more on the magic world have trended on the weaker end. Hopefully this bucks that trend.
New PV for the next All Stars movie. It's continuing to shape up to be better than last year's.

Episode 1: "First time for everyone" edition (AKA First Precure for me) (Also I am writing these comments as I go)
Wow, someone doesn't know how to fly. inb4 "Where did you learn to fly?"
I already like Mirei's mom.
A landing which you can walk away from is a successful landing. Even if you are hanging from a tree. Also, chillest cat ever.
Yeah, this is probably going to the "openings I am not going to skip" folder. So catchy~
Bets on Mirai's grandma having been a witch in her young days.
Your parents owing a jewellery shop: Best situation to find any wild Transformation Trinkers.
I swear, that bear already has a mind of his own.
Apparently Wizards Need Food Badly.
Surprisingly, no one bats and eye for a strange, purple-haired guy with pale skin and a robe?
"Is that a magic wand?" "No, this is a light stick I carry around."
Is there a trope when just a single magic word can do anything required? Unless it is to evoke the magical power, and rest is up to the context.
Have I mentioned that Mirai is such a cinnamon roll? And that I keep miswriting her as "Mirei"?
Mirai seems to have a natural alarm for danger. Good.
So we are applying literal Emerald Power here with Linkle Stones?
Batty is rather chill fellow. Doesn't even bother chasing after the girls. Also, a really weird fusion. I guess jumping straight out of toku stuff really specified how two things should fuse.
Riko, you aren't strong enough to use wandless magic. Also, that bit might have gone bit too long until we get to the good part.
Cure Miracle~! Cure Magical~!
I like how the two of them call their names out... and have no idea what their names means. Also, Batty's reaction reminds me of Kamen Rider Drive where one of the monsters are the first ones to call Drive "Kamen Rider".
Fluff.
Yay, magical train of imagination time just magic.
Oh god, event he ending is catchy! Also, good CGI.
As the first proper episode what I have watched (I remember watching the April Fools episode of Smile just for curiosity), and I am happy.
Continue the bloodline, Fujimaru!I watched both Shimakaze and Imagination Station subs for the first episode and they both do the job decently, although there are parts that feel… off. I'll see how they both do in future episodes.
Helpful Scripts and Stylesheets here.Shimakaze only ever does the first one or two episodes of Precure and have outright stated that they only plan to do the first episode of Maho Girls. I have no clue about Imagination Station though.
I doubt either will be subbing for more than a couple episodes. Doremi is just so slow nowadays while Commie... they try.
I noticed that Mirai seems to be sharper than I'd normally expect. She wanted to know why her pendant glowed, knew to GTFO when Batty appeared, remembered that Riko claimed her broom couldn't carry two people, and she reacted fast to catch Riko. This one doesn't seem to be an airhead at lest.
She doesn't seem fond of school work, however.
I'm imagining part of her arc will be getting to like school studies via the magic school.
Helpful Scripts and Stylesheets here.x2
I heard Commie's sub aren't very good though whether they're better than Doremi or not seems to be a point of contention. It doesn't help that they usually fall behind and then rush through the last few episodes in order to finish before Doremi. Thankfully they won't be doing Maho this year. Doremi has gotten later and later with subs but they're still my preferred subgroup even if I skipped over them for Gopri last year (though to be fair I watched Gopri entirely raw starting from episode 5 onwards). I am curious about Imagination Station though since I've heard of them but never used them. Their release post is kind of iffy though.
Mirai being smarter than most pinks is good though. I think Tsubomi and maybe Haruka to a certain extent are the only others that might be said to be smarter than usual.

You know, I want to bet that the only way to find/create the Emerald Linkle Stone is to find all the other Linkle Stones. It would create an interesting situation where Dokuroxy would try to get the Linkle Stones away from the Cures, but since she knows that as long as she can get them when it counts, she can still win.
Continue the bloodline, Fujimaru!Okay, I think I'll set Heartcatch aside for now to focus on this one.
'Cause damn, that was pretty cool. Although indeed the "Begone monster" part was long-ish (how much time do they need to just think about chanting it at the same time?) The bad guy looks too ridiculous for me to care much about him, but I guess he's just small fry. I hope.
The transformation sequence and the little action scene after that are a true beauty. =3 And I already like the chemistry between the two girls. Also, the CG ending is much less creepy than the one of Heartcatch.
…Now this series presents me a Cute Witch with puple eyes and hair, called Riko, who just-so-happens to be the Miracle Witch. And it expects me to see her as the good guy. That's gonna be hard.
edit: Oh, sorry, Cure Miracle is Mirai, not Riko… But it's still distracting. >.> She even has Hanyuu's voice, damnit.

First impressions on Mahou Tsukai Precure:
We are back to the "Only as a couple, we are strong" theme.
I also think, that is the first time, that the girls figured her transformation completely by theirself. Oh, and the exposition was this time done by the villain! And they actually didn't use a finisher this time!
So far, this series looks solid! The introduction into the topics of this season feels naturally and you get a good impression of the main characters.
I like them both and think, at least in this episode they work well together. Looks like Mirai will provide the ambition to drive the team forward and Riko the knowledge to suceed.
About the villain:
As I said, he provided the exposition here and that's why he realized, that the Pre Cures means trouble right from the start! So he decided to retreat with the monster of the week. Depending on his methods in the next episode, he could be quite the tough enemy.
For the next episode:
Once again, the Big Good seems to be a Bishonen. However, from the opening he looks to be quite more serious. Maybe he is the principal they have to search in the next episode.
