Hi! Is it okay if I join? I've read all the posts thus far, and so far this is looking really good!
Nice To Meet You!You actually read the whole thread? That's actually pretty cool.
Welcome! Feel free to contribute ideas or writing or whatever.
Yup, sorry if that seems creepy or anything. ^^; But thanks!
I guess I'll add another "Aye!" for Hideki. And there's one thing I'm curious about. I like the idea of Tsutomu not knowing Hoshi's real gender, but it seems a bit odd if they've been friends since childhood, unless there was some reason for Hoshi to keep from him.
Nice To Meet You!Simple, He's an idiot. Or has a serious case of Selective Obliviousness.
Works for me.
I also have one or two name suggestions. I think somebody mentioned that Daisuke's father would be the Greek parent, from that, I think he should have a Greek last name. Maybe Colonomos or Megalos?
As for the Chinese ghost, maybe he would at least be able to remember his first name? Some that I found are Shi, which can mean "history", or Zhi for "will, purpose". Shi could work since he's trying to find out his history, and maybe Zhi because of his, well, persistency. It's totally fine if nobody likes the names, just some suggestions.

Nice To Meet You!Zhi sounds like a good name to me. Do colonomos or Megalos have meanings also?
"Good name" and "great", respectively. I didn't find any better ones that might suit him, even if the first one doesn't fit him personally, because I've only found one website that says the meanings behind Greek last names: http://surnames.behindthename.com/names/usage/greek
Then again, I could go check to see if there are more of those.

Nice To Meet You!I personally vote for Megalos, then, but we should see what the others think.
Megalos sounds good to me!
By the way, I have a question about Zhi, or Shi or whatever his name is gonna be. Since he's gonna be Yandere, and yanderes tend to be pretty violent, maybe even Ax-Crazy, should we play that part of his personality for laughs? After all, unless he has some super-cool ghost power, I highly doubt he's gonna be able to hurt anyone.
Lol, that's great. XD
As for how he falls for Hoshi, maybe she was the first to see him and try to communicate with him rather then run away (though she may still be creeped out whilst doing so).

Nice To Meet You!Comedic Sociopathy would work for the yandere. Especially if it's prone to failure.
That sounds good.
As for Greek guy's surname, Megalos sounds good. We can also use Vasileios (regal), Aristides (the best), Prokopios (leader) or Istvan (victorious).
Daisuke Istavan.
...that sounds AWESOME.
I agree, all those last names work better then the ones I found, I like Istvan too.

I have a question about the closeted bookworm-
Is she gonna start out as a Boomerang Bigot (hating gays even though she herself is one) or is she gonna be all "Not That There's Anything Wrong with That, but I'm not into that sorta thing."

I personally vote for the latter, simply because bigots, boomerang or not, aren't my cup of tea. But let's see what the others think of it.
Well, personally, I'm not bothered, but I've gotta say, if we make her a Boomerang Bigot, we've gotta make sure she's still likeable.
By the way, off-topic I know, but does anyone know if it's possible to write an adult Romance Novel that doesn't involve sex?
I think there's a market for that.
Yes, actually.
Really? How?
And do you think the bookworm should be a Boomerang Bigot, or accepting of homosexuality but heavily in denial of her own preferances?
I would prefer to avoid boomerang bigotry, 'cause that brings a slew of psychological problems that we'd have to deal with.
As for the romance novels, you could either go the inspirational romance route, or have the sex take place offscreen.
Bigots aren't my cup of tea either, and fillerdude brings up a good point. And if she's really homophobic, she would have a harder time accepting herself enough to go ahead and pursue Hoshi.

Nice To Meet You!What's "inspirational romance?"
And the previous comment gave me another idea. Maybe she's in denial because her family is homophobic, and she doesn't wanna be rejected by them?
I'll put in an "Aye" as well.
