America has only itself to blame, really; Fox only does what fuels the ratings. It's the support of the viewers that allows them to get away with their tabloid style news.

Furthermore, I think Guantanamo must be destroyed.

Oh, you poor naive person. Ask people in the UK about Fox News' activity. Just so you know, huge corporations know no borders. That's why they're MULTINATIONAL.

My biggest issue with this is honestly the "Parents don't know what's in these games" after the comparison to film. Because you know exactly what's in a movie if you don't watch it with your kid, too.

So all in all, Fox News is promoting the fact that good parents should not do stuff with their kids.

Remember when everyone said comic books would turn your children into monsters and kill everyone you ever loved?

What I'm saying is I really don't give any fuck either way. Give it a couple dozen years and the next big entertainment advancement will be said to be enslaving our sons and raping our dogs.

Hire people who do more than ten seconds of research. It honestly seems sometimes that part of Fox policy is to give people they hire a lobotomy.

Well, close. If I recall correctly, they push nonsensical controversy such as this piece because they've realized sensationalism draws viewers.

Fox is for entertaining, not informing.

Then they censored them, thereby saving civilization. Perhaps the same should be done with murder simulators like Sim City! It could be our only hope!

Eco-games tend to suck balls in that they smash you over the head with A Message every five seconds. I've played a few of them.

Really, I think the better way to teach A Message would be to tone it down in terms of delivery so it only hits you after sinking a few hours of yoru life into it do you have a sudden realization that you've been learning something while having a lot of fun.

^ ... Sim City is a Murder Simulator...? [lol]

From what I gather, Sim City Societies isn't actually preaching A Message. It just happens to have windmills and junk.

I mean the film industry also got hit by heavy censoring back in the day.

The more I think about it, the more I figure that all forms of media are going to go through a censoring phase at one point or another.

I wonder what that guy's opinion of Minecraft would be, seeing as there are no explicit conservation mechanics, except for "you cannot build more stuff unless you plant more trees or cut down another forest"

First, I wanted to bomb Fox Kids for airing ten-year-old series and some crap with production values lower than a sack of potatoes. Then, I wanted to bomb Fox the movie-producing company for what they did to the Hitman movie. Now, Fox News. This company has to violently die in a fire.

You forgot about them cancelling Firefly.

That should've been the deal breaker years ago.

I wonder if we could perform some sort of revenge for this insult to one of our favourite hobbies. (and pretty much all other times they made us look like anti-social outcasts about to shoot everyone in sight)

Not a bomb or something, but some harmless prank that makes them loose face in front of the people that watch them without irony.

And you guys sound like every single other gaming forum in existence. Like The Escapist. They have that reaction every single time.

Speaking of The Escapist, have you listened to this very convincing asshole?

[up][up]Nah, that would make us look like the bad guys. Perhaps feeding them a fake story, and later reveal the gig to show just how good their fact-checking is.

The story makes a lot more sense to me now. The first time I heard about it it said that indie games like Flower and Sim City were ruining America. Now that I see it's supposed to be environmental it makes sense. Not really agreable, but not Insane Troll Logic.
