Morbid as it is, what are they?

Like anyone else, mine aren't in order and are subject to change:

Only one song for me. Why, by Joe Satriani. If I'm going to die, then I'll be sent off by the greatest of all guitar solos.

Because I choose to.

Y'know that whole 'a funeral should be a celebration of someone's life' thing? BULL. SHIT. People are going to cry at my funeral, dammit. Everybody in that place is going to be having a crazy attack of the sads.

Cliché though it is, I would like a requiem mass sung at my funeral. Preferably Fauré's.

I would also like the following:

  • The Mountain Goats - Shadow Song
  • Explosions In The Sky - Memorial
  • Shearwater - La Dame Et La Licorne

A six-hour noise piece which I will compose myself.

Also it will culminate with my coffin exploding.

Somehow you know that the time is right.

My previous post is of course assuming there's enough left of me to bother putting in a coffin. Though either way I want six hours of noise followed by a big-ass explosion.

Somehow you know that the time is right.

I'm tempted to say "Dead" by They Might Be Giants if only for its sheer bluntness, but in all honesty I really don't know. Besides, I think that that might make the two people who actually will bother to come to the funeral more depressed.

…Maybe 'Why Don't We Do it in the Road?'

Insert witty and clever quip here. My page, as the database hates my handle.

I've decided that if my first option doesn't work, I want a choir and orchestra at my funeral to perform an arrangement of Soundgarden's "Big Dumb Sex".

Not Alone for sure. Just because it's gotten me through a lot. It's come to mean so much to me I feel like it would only be appropriate to have it played at my funeral.

After The Stom by Mumford & Sons would be good too. One of my favorite bands and I'd want people to be comforted. I want them to know I don't expect them to grieve over me forever.

Let It Be because it's one of my favorite songs of all time.

Cosmic Love by Florence and the Machine, because why not? It's an eargasm. Play me off with something awesome.

We're going to spread this shit like Nutella.

Young Heretics "Come Together". The lyrics are just perfect

And this luck has seen better days

More funeral songs for me:

  • End of the Road by Boyz II Men
  • the You Are Dead song from Total Distortion
  • Ashes To Ashes by David Bowie
  • The Gonk from Dawn Of The Dead (the end theme)
  • The end theme from Scarface
  • And because there needs to be a balance of being morbid, Chris and Annie's Theme by Ennio Morricone from his unused score from What Dreams May Come (didn't like the movie but his score is fantastic, can't believe it wasn't used).
