Everyone here knows the award bait songs from the 90's animated movies. So,if you could play one for your wedding what would it be.I was thinking of putting "Now and Forever" from the Pebble and the Pengiun in my wedding.

Go the Distance from Hercules.

If only because in the context, it could be seen as bragging about my sexual prowess.

Well, one of my favourite Award Bait songs is You'll be In My Heart from Tarzan. But I don't think that'd be appropriate for a wedding, as it's sung by a mother to her child.

Be not afraid...

If I had to choose from that category, it would probably be "At The Beginning" from Anastasia. Pretty sappy, but plenty of people seem to like Donna Lewis and Bryan Adams and the lyrics are wedding-appropriate.

I don't know. "Part of Your World?"

..eh. I'm sticking to my original plan and playing Macarthur Park.

Screw award bait, and screw having music. I'm playing this at my wedding myself.

If we can expand this to all "end credits ballads", I've long wanted to use We Can Fly Away from Magical Legend of the Leprechauns. Watch the ending of the movie with said song here, or the song by itself here.

Got a request to move this thread to Yack Fest. Looking over the thread, it seems like it indeed fits Yack Fest better, so complying.

Woah. This is a necro and a half. Is this, like, a record for the oldest thread to be re-dug up?

Three years? I didn't notice that at the time. I'm sure I've seen longer gaps between posts elsewhere.

Granted, most inactive threads prior to 2011 have been expunged from the server for space reasons, so it's not likely an older one will be seen.

Insert witty 'n clever quip here.

I have too many songs in general I want to have played at my wedding. I'll just go and say Come What May from Moulin Rouge for right now.

...I'm a big a fan of Green Day as anyone, but I don't think "Longview" counts as an Award-Bait Song.

They do have medals for almost, and they're called silver!
