While we're talking about the Metroid franchise, who would be a good matchup for Ridley, Mother Brain, or Dark Samus?

[up] Looking at the ending of Metroid Prime 2, they wouldn't even have mouths.

And now I must bring out the Brain Bleach.

I always interpreted the fully corrupted game over scene as Dark Samus taking control of Samus and transforming her armor into a mirror image. We see Dark Samus' shade in Rundas before the battle with him, and it might be the case here.

I would say Gurren Lagann or MEGAS ...

But either one would likely be overkill.

EDIT: Actually, come to think of it, why not Gurren Lagann vs. MEGAS?

How about an Imperator Class Titan?[lol]

EDIT: Megas would slaughter an EVA unit with the "Kill EVA unit" button. Gurren Lagann would probably win due to the dimension tunneling abilities it showed in that one episode (and because of how spiral power works).

Gurren Lagann vs Megas... Is an awesome idea. I totally want to see an episode based on it.

I'd say Team Dai-Gurren, but they were successful against their humanity-destroying threat, so...

[up]One of my friends and I had a discussion on that very topic, and it went thusly: a tie if Gurren Lagann didn't become Arc Gurren Lagann, otherwise Spiral Power would defeat Megas's vast arsenal and Coop's madness.

But which Godzilla? We have Gojira, Showa Godzilla, Hensei Godzilla, Godzilla 2000, GMK Godzilla, AM/TSOS Godzilla, and FW Godzilla, all with varying abilities.

[up]I think that when in doubt, use the best known version. In this case, probably the original Godzilla.

Kinda surprised at the Bloodless Carnage for this latest Death Battle. There should at least have been some blood on the ground where Cloud died. But it was still pretty awesome, so...

Spider-Man vs. who... I'd say the obvious choice is Batman, seeing how the classic argument is whether one or the other would win. Personally, I'd say Spider-Man. Bruce Wayne was trained as a ninja, and is a highly skilled martial artist, certified genius, and "the world's greatest detective". Peter Parker, while he has little official combat training, is also a genius and has reflexes that are 40x faster than a normal human's, can lift up to 10 tons, and has his Spider-Sense to warn him of oncoming attacks. Furthermore, while Batman has a ton of high tech gear, Spidey's dealt with batarang-type weapons in the past (courtesy of the various Goblins) and is no slouch in the inventions department himself, seeing how he's had four Spider-Armour variants (the original steel-plated suit, the one Iron Man gave him, the Big Time armour, and the suit from Ends of the Earth), and made the web shooters and web fluid at the age of 15.

There's a 90% certainty I'm underestimating Batman, but whadda you guys think?

[up] Possibly somewhat. I hate Batman but considering his feats can include winning against insane foes like Clayface and one time could somehow fight on par with Superman; add the fact he (somehow) knows every martial art existed and has a belt thats notroious for being a Deux Des Machina. I think it'd be close

Had predicted Link's victory since it was announced. It is a pattern now that the character with the most varied attack will win. I'm also hoping that Spidey will face Batman. I'm tending toward Batman's victory though, considering the stuff he could pull and he could radio in his vehicles for more help.

[up][up]Almost every fight between Supes and Batman had some sort of circumstances which gave Batman the ability to put up a fight. In a straight-up fight, Batman would be down and out in less than a second.

[up][up]

Batman's vehicles wouldn't be of much help if Spider-Man leapt over them, webbed the windshields up, or snared them in giant webs a la the opening to the 60's cartoon. The way I see it, Bruce would have to figure out a way to short out Peter's Spider Sense to gain an advantage, and even then it would be tenuous due to Peter being so much stronger, faster, and more agile. It's been done by the Green Goblin and Hobgoblin, but only after they had faced him numerous times in combat, so unless Batman suddenly bonded to the Venom symbiote he wouldn't have enough knowledge of Spidey and his fighting style. Peter did temporarily lose his Spider Sense and learned tai chi to compensate, but Batman's extensive knowledge of just about every single martial art makes that more or less a moot point.

As for his utility belt, going by his arsenal in Arkham Asylum and Arkham City, it's nothing Peter hasn't seen and overcome before. Most of Batman's Rouges Gallery are normal humans (with the exception of Poison Ivy, who even Batman has trouble with), and while he has beaten enemies that were physically stronger than him (like Bane and Clayface) they were Hulk-like in proportions and have glaring weaknesses (the pipes for the Venom serum and water respectively) that could be exploited. Spider-Man, on the other hand, is small and without any obvious weak points, aside from an allergy to Raid.

Not bad for the first fully 3d Death Battle. Amazing what they can do nowadays.

As for who Spidey will take on... That's a toughie besides the obvious choice of Batman, who else would...

Oh, Crap!. What if they choose Wolverine?

No Super-Strength, but his healing factor, Adamantium Skeleton and super senses might give him a chance, and they fought a few times before.

Plus, he's one of the few guys who doesn't have Hulk level strength who's not only fought the Hulk, but done so gleefully.

Ironically, the other guy who's done it... is Spider Man.
